Ok, I'm up for men. Comfy Balls is chasing worlds minimum in the FS, but I'm not sure if he has the content. He skated almost perfect at Nationals, and still lacks about five points. Oh, well....

It's 3.am here and I'm ready for the Splatfest of the year!!! :cheer2:

Good morning! It's 9.15 in the morning her, Perfect. Stay strong where you are!

(Yesterday I felt more like posting all my comments in here, rather than in the PBP thread... we'll see how it turns out today...)

You’re right, they do seem really sweet there. All couples have their ups and downs, and even the best couples have bad days. Who knows, maybe they’re even on-again-off-again. Either way, I like their skating and they both seem like nice people so I support them.

They are handsier than they were last year, but they don't look generally cuddly like they used to (though that could be stress related) Neither of them took down their coupley pictures from Instagram so no matter what they look like they're on pretty good terms. This interview was done the day they were leaving for Europeans, I only understand like 20% of Russian on a good day, but the interviewer asked if they were friends off the ice. They didn't correct her about their situation one way or the other, I think they just said they could call and talk to each other at any time. There was other stuff in there too but it was way too advanced for me (I haven't taken a Russian class since 2002 so to say I'm rusty is an understatement) It was a completely inane morning talk show with questions like "Were the Russian Nationals difficult?" and "What will the color of your costumes be at Europeans?" so no one was gonna get in depth anyway. (BTW, if you ff the video all the way to the last half you can watch Natalia Bestemianova cook what looks to be a completely horrifyingly disgusting looking 'breakfast')

I've been a big fan since they started skating senior. I knew they had great potential even though most of their long programs have been total dreck. They are finally going in a good direction and I just really really really hope that the stress and nerves don't derail them. They, especially Vladimir, seem like shy nerds so of course I'm going to root for my people.

Litvinitsev needs to work in his camel postitons. But I think this is the closest we'll get to a pair of tights today, so I'll take it :D

Men LP Grupos 1 & 2

Overall im really missing a 2nd step sequence. Those choreo sequences are super lame and the programs just end without climax. I know with the reduced time there's not chance but something like quick steps like its been done in dance instead of those choreo nonsense would be appreciated.

Lewton : Good for him but it speaks volumes of the level of Euro men when a guy whose hardest content is only 3t-3s makes it to the finals.
Maysuradze: I still think he's too uptight on the ice. I can see all his thoughts going into the jumps and of course the pops start to welll. pop.
Newberry: Fist pumping after doing mostly everything planned but dissapointed at the scores. I guess he has no minimuns for Worlds???
Maierhofer: Much much better that what I expected to see. Small victory for him.
Shmuratko: He's a SP specialist, meaning his long programs are a disgrace. Still gotta love his attituted, asking for crowd support before the steps when he has already swept the floor 3 times.
Odvoll Boe : He looked nice on that red jacket I guess. Overall still not impressed.
Mathyas: This would be a killer program with a more senior skater. It lacked projection and long movements. And without Verner in the K&C I dont care.
Morisi: Very meh but he landed something at least. LOL at showing Eteri at first and then she not bothering to go the K&C.
Selevko: Huge teddy bear for an OES??!!! I love the Minsk crowd. This was nice but as usual with the guys , stamina issues everywhere.
Fentz: As a GOT fan I appreciate the change on the music cuts but this program is so empty.
Siao Him Fa: Oh well , bye bye Ponsart. Good luck raising bunnies with Bell
Litvintsev: Just like Feigin yesterday, all the juniorish shortcomings started to show. Fairly dropped on PCS. He looks so pretty though

Best Dressed: Mathyas
Do Hard: Selevko

Ok, I can't write a lot about men right now. Rizzo made the podium, Aymoz was less than a point from it, so my powers almost worked. Javi got his 7th title, and Comfy Balls slayed. SO happy for all of them!

And Misha bombed, and injured himself and I'm heartbroken. He surely belongs on the team. Surely. Though I don't want him there:wuzrobbed

Samarin is Russia #1, Bossman will be ecstatic when he returns!

Groups 3 & 4;

Not Baby Anymore: Mythical quad is a reality. Gauntlet thrown. Costume must go.
Yuri: Well, he went for the quad at least but it's official, he's Europe's Brown. Great fight after the awful start though. Love the ending.
Good Son: The Cuban Pete section wasn't as embarrasing and he avoided 11th place so yay!!!
Bel Ami Star: Goo ole Michal came back , hunchedback quads, almost dead by the half of the program. The more things change the more they stay the same
New Baby Italian: The music is definetly not my cup of tea but that program is quite interesting. Im looking forward for this kid to grow and dazzle us.
Granpa: Stream frozed.
Gangsta Carmen: He had his comeback now bring back Silver Fox!!
Le Petite: I Adore this program so much. It was a fantastic effort and good to see he was aiming for more. Holding hands with Zimmerman :swoon:
POsterboy: Both wolves were very well fed this time.
Greatest Boreman: Laughable PCS, seriously we could have Despacito sounding in the arena he would have skated just the same but who cares he had the mental strength on the ice, then he let it all go on the K&C thats the way to do it guys!!!
Quijote: You are going to be missed so much Javi, thank you for everything . And my magic reputation is intact !! :saint:
Baba Yaga: Why the 4S¡ has he ever landed that before? This was way too much pressure for that tiny body I blame @rfisher for calling this will be ugly :p

Best dressed: Vasiljevs
Do Hard: Javi one last time

Dance Group 1 & 2

Overall I need to stop rolling my eyes and just getting used to the new scoring and middle of the road teams getting over 100 pts scores for so so performances.

HUN: What a mess. THe music ate them alive. That was sad for a former junior world champion.
ISR: What a pleasant surprise these 2. If only they had been around at Pyeongchang instead of that novice team they sent when Tkachenko failed for citizenship.
UKR: Bye bye Nikitin. It was nice knowing you but these new kids seem like they actually still enjoy skating.
BLR: Well done . Small victories for lower ranked teams is always nice to see.
GBR: Zzzzzzzzzzzz the montreal lyrical snot influence is still too heavy these days.
LTU: Good balance between sultry and romantic . Me like.
GER: I would have rather see the Cancer dance.
FRA: Amelie's soundtrack is so divine for dance, works perfectly. Amazing rotational lift but then they end with that boring done to death "im going to stand on your thighs trying not to cut you" lift blah.
RUS: I hope they enjoyed the most of their one and only trip to euros and with a homage to Monko another only once at Euros russian casualty.
ITA: Snoozefest . Besides G&F all other Barbara's teams have truly generic choreo.

Best dressed: Reed
Do Hard: Lukacs

Eurosport re-showing Sofia's FS during ice rehearsal. Boy, does that program put me in a brilliant mood:D :cheer2::glamor:

RIZZO BRONZE!!! :encore::encore::encore:
(Yes, because everybody else splatted, but the mytical quad has appeared, and a fantastic one :eek::eek:)
Once again, ttw saw him first!
Also super happy for Javi and I was a crying mess from the second he stepped on the ice :wuzrobbed
@Braulio do you happen to have the medal ceremony? thanks!
ETA: here it is: Link

About PCS... I look forward to see if Samarin develops. As I said in the other thread, The greatest showman is a very clever choice. You get the impression he's showing, while its really only the music. ;) But he's not that experienced. Get him a cool choreographer and we'll see.

Kovtun otoh:mad: He gave up on the program, almost as bad as Hubert in Nagano. Still got crazy PCS. So bring back Hubert:D I prefer! :glamor::gallopin1

Dance groups 3 & 4

Married for Passport: Much vibrant and energetic thatn last years but upbeat style seems odd with them.
Finnish singles rejects: Definetly not as fierce as the RD but damn still amazed how much they have improved their speed. Keep the good work.
Swaping Couple: Better than at the GP but while the music goes fast the choreo goes boring. A real shame we won't see that brilliant RD at worlds though.
Monko's husband: I root for them cause I believe they are the better team but honestly none of their material convinces me too much this year. If only they could skate S&D's RD.
Crowd Pleasers: If coaches are smart they will realise the huge GOE pluses all those newly introduced flashy made for entertainment only elements are getting and we will get lots of these type of programs next season. Perhaps that was ISU's plan all along to save us from the lyrical snot madness of the past years.
Jerk & Girl In love: Not as redemptional as I thought but is Nikita so no heartbreak at all.
Polish Fridge Break: If you are goind to do a voidy program at least make sure the costumes are also voidy no that barely above practice outfits. THis choreo demands for lots of personality on ice which they sadly lack.
Piccolinos: They make a perfect old fashion couple don't they. The shriek from her in the K&C!!!
Narcissus & Echo: This was not the departure from their previuos efforts i've been reading about. This was more like stepping out to your front yard and then getting back inside beacuse it's too cold. They are still amazing but im no longer amazed.
Puppy & Legs: Dropped from #1 status to back at it in just one season?? Crazy. The final sitting twizzle choreo is so fricking cool. Good boy.

Best Dressed: Turkkila
Do Hard: Diaz

Looking at the marks it looks like the judges do perfer S/K to S/B but of course one team sabotages itself and the other is solid enough so the results don't match it.

It kind of feels like it was 5 years ago. B/S were considered #1 because they were the more consistent team but everyone knew if I/K put it together they would beat them. Of course I/K rarely put it together so B/S looked like the solid #1 even if they weren't. To an extent thats how it's starting to look here with S/K and S/B.
