In my next life, I long to be a mid-range Russian skater who ends up being imported to skate for a small European country, I think that is who I was meant to be.

So I slept 4.5 hours last night to wake up at 2:45 to watch Euro ladies.

I work until 2pm, then work my part time gig tonight 3pm-10pm.

I'm currently flying high on caffeine and GRM adrenaline, but I feel like by 6 or 7 I'm going to be a hot mess (and look 10 years older, which happens when I don't get enough sleep).

But it's worth it, right?

Overall what a sad field. Only 11 entries. RUS nationals had 12!!!

J&B: Utmost respect to her for coming back at her age but I do wonder what are their goals considering their content and level is not going rise like ever.
G&A: OK-ish but they havent improved that much after many years. He should bulk up instead of spending too much time on romantic trips with his bf ( i dont mind the eyecandy on his instagram though )

T/M need to learn how to walk through an open door when it's presented to them. Last year's Olympics, the GPF and now the Euros short. They suffer mentally against the big guns and can't seem to get over the hump

Lecavelier: That was the whitest most vanilla Cleopatra ever. In comparison it made look Miki Ando as if she actually had some interpretation skills.

Still way better than snoozefest Rajicova who couldn't even bother to try a 3-3, yet finished ahead of Lecavelier.

I don't know how Mishin manages it, but teaching his skaters to control their nerves in competition is one of their major strengths. All of his skaters have pretty much managed to do that. Sometimes that's all it takes to win.

Samodurova and Gulyakova, yes. But Tuktamysheva?

Almost guaranteed, really the only time she completely ate it in the long was worlds.

Unfortunately, also her first Junior Worlds long was a disaster.. so I'm not confident about her free skate result this time..

H/S - Look look, kudos to Österreich. Whatever she has done this off-season, kudos ?? Few years ago I'd never expected them to skate like that. Shame about the silly mistake.

Hase/Seegert were so wonderful yesterday! The fall was totally silly, but everything else was glorious. They have come such a long way! I was their fan already when they were gangly and confused and messy, I can't put my finger on what it was, they just had something so cute about them, and look at them now And her dress is one of the best of the season. Hope they have a great FS, it has caused them trouble so far this season.

J/C were very good. I'm not amazed by them anymore, as they keep doing the same thing (one more former fan to the choir), but still. Really happy for them.

T/M.... I want to hug Evgenia. She looks constantly miserable. That was one awkward KnC, no emotions towards each other, no connection what so ever. Did they break up or are they still a couple? Rach is really good for them, I want to love the program, but the recording is so frantic it's on speed, and sounds like it's played on a cheap Casio keyboard. It must be the worst recording of Rach2 EVER! Where on earth did they find it? There are like a zillion others.

DM/G - I want a medal for them so badly! So badly! They had more energy than the French yesterday. Soooo close to T/M in score. How will I live through tonight?

B/K - LOVE THEM! And Moskvina! She trained them so well, they are fast, fun, fresh, effortless and strong - that twist, and with lots of personality. Future of Russia! (Together with lots of others )

Agree about their programs not being the most exciting this year, but last years short were fab, and they can do that again. They also keep improving everything, I really enjoy watching them. Galay - This was very pale. Nontheless, I hope he somehow still gets his minimums for worlds. I enjoy him way more than Dr V.

Bel Ami Convention 2019 SP Group 1 & 2 Recap:

Galay - So beautiful. So damn sloppy. He's grown way to tall to singles Im afraid. Maybe he should go the Versluis route? but his skills are nothing to rave about.
Zenko - Poor kid. Home crowd can either make you or break you . The later happened.
Alonso - Underwhelming . A going through the motions program. Dark ages are coming again for ESP.
Selevko - Oh yess!!!+5 Music Choice. Quirky choreo and he sold it to the max. I can see why @Jeschke gets horny with him too. He gets SamuraiK's seal of quality.
Lewton Brain - He's easy on the eye allright but his content is even easier. But hey he was clean and that's the way to go when your content is below novice russian lady level.
Borovoy - Granny in the House!! Couldn't he afford decent gloves? the less said about the skating the better.
Matyas - Jiri Who??? The Lil Bro has totally eclipsed him on chrisma and delivery so far. lack of 3A still is worrisome though. Great non creepy chemistry with Verner on the K&C. Lambiel take note.
Odvoll-Boe - Zzzz Seriously I don't know what so many see in him but he was happy so good for him.
Britsghi - He fought hard but it was forgettable in the end. Keep trying.
Shmuratko - Paniot who??? Loved the blink to the camera and his full commitment to the choreo. Tons of belly action for those aroused by that . 3A fall aside he also gets a seal of quality.

Stakelum - Yikes at that costume. Its as if he ripped the upperf hald of a random lady dress and sew it to some pants That said, this is is the best he has ever skated so congrats for achieving his personal goals.
Litivintsev - and of course the first quead of the day comes from a russian import. This felt too rushed on every element yet he ended up behind the music somehow.
Majorov the Younger: Oh, so this is what a good looking Majorov is like!! Nice . And he also has charisma . Even better. But if the axel is not ready yet I dont see much future. Awesome K&C though.
Maierhofer: This kid has grown a lot. That was the oddest attepmt at latin interpretation Ive seen. The non fitting costume didnt help either.
Obreykov: Boooooringg.
Neuman: Geez, what ups with all these really tall gangly guys wasting our time in singles. Get in the gym and start filling up the miserable euro pairs field right now!
Kennes : He seems to be a genuinely nice guy but come on,we lost Jorik on competitive ice for that???
Demirboga: Despite the low level this guy used to bring cool/interesting music and choreo. Not this time. If you aint voidy you aint worthy.
Fentz: He like the way too literal costumes too much doesn't he?? 3t-3t? Please.. and of course the freak fall. At least after the other 3 guys it looked awesome in comparison.
Kovtun: His interpretation skills have improved tremendously and I was even thinking that is nice to see him back until I saw the scores. Wuzgifted.

Overall this 2 groups felt like they should have been #1 and 2 instead of 3 & 4. Im feeling sleepy already.
