I agree North America is not quite interesting these days. Dance and pairs from over there I never cared much about, except from PJZ. In ladies, our highlight this year will be Ponsart's girl skating lights out to Celine. (Especially to annoy Norwegian commentator not appreciating so called "cheesy pop-song". Blah! ) And I'll appreciate quadless Pulkinen in all his glory and school boy Nathan outskating everybody, winning with like 30 points or something, lack a daisingly!

Could be worse. I give you 4CC ladies SP. And, they are in the US this year. On the fecking west coast which means events will go late into the night.

Oh, Ladies 4CC is definetly not worse. First there are usually only about 20 entries (not 40+ like at Euros). Second, after the first 2 groups you get the higher ranked half with high quality skaters from JPN-USA-KOR sometimes CHN and CAN too while at Euros is a 4 to 5 hours torture waiting for the 3 russians and Kostner to show up. It used to be better when FIN/SWE actually sent good girls but not anymore.

I do understand the lack of Karly Robertson here does hurt the field considerably, but there are still many other interesting skaters to watch.

BUT I do think pairs will be the most intriguing event of the competition Especially with @Jeschke's favorite team The Knierems. Has Todd Sand taken a break from serial killing to coach them more? Can Kayne/OShea win? Will Stellato rise like Whitney? Will Brandon Frazier end up on my do hard list? (spoiler alert: YES) Not to mention Cain/Leduc.

And men are entertaining. Chen is my favorite guy skater in the world right now. Plus Pulkinen, Torgashev, Ma, velvetboi, Savary.

Don't rule him out this year. Brezina is as likely to choke as not. Kovtun will Kovtun himself and Kolyada will Kolyada himself. They can't help it. Samarin and Rizzo, could, in theory, end up on the podium. Posterboy will out howling for a wolf to come commune with him so he'll be too busy.
