2024 Academy Awards (Oscars) Red Carpet & Ceremony

So……they started this at 7pm ET this year - and it seems like it’s taking even longer. It’s 8:15pm and we still haven’t gotten to Best Supporting Actor yet?.
I'm not liking the camera work during the In Memoriam at all.
Can’t see any of the memorials. Kind of a problem. Very glad ZOI won sound. The sound in this movie said something!

IMHO, Jimmy Kimmel isn’t doing a horrible job of hosting this. It’s just not good. Almost none of the jokes that he’s said have landed - at all.

Agree on the In Memoriam. You couldn't see the names and images on the screen since they were so far back to show the dancers.

Anyone able to explain the men’s lapel pins?
Featuring an outline of a hand around a black heart, the pins call for a ceasefire in the Israel-Hamas war, which Palestinian health authorities say has resulted in 30,000 deaths in Gaza since October.

A group of over 400 celebrities have joined Artists4Ceasefire, a campaign that in late October published a letter urging the US Congress and President Joe Biden to call for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza and Israel.

In a press statement, Artists4Ceasefire said: “The pin symbolizes collective support for an immediate and permanent cease-fire, the release of all of the hostages and for the urgent delivery of humanitarian aid to civilians in Gaza.”

I hated the individual intros of the nominated actors. I preferred the old way. Show clips of their roles, and previous year's best actress reads the names and announces the result.

I’m not minding the individual introductions, but not having clips of the performances is strange
