Don't you dare! :drama:
Details!
No details , just some rumors circulating on Russian boards.
She is 16, he is 21 - very big age difference, he is aging out from juniors and she still has two/three seasons...
Also, theh said in several different interviews that they don’t have any common interests outside of skating and don’t communicate a lot off the ice.

+ Loboda/Shibnev :saint:
She retired and moved to coaching.
Maybe just for now, but who knows..

Speaking of that and reasons behind.

How is the ttw consensus on sending GG's Rostelecom SP into the :gallopin1-POTS-race?
While it's undeniable that it might be a frontrunner to win (the comeback, the actual skate, the wd after), I am very unsure to put her in based on the background.

I know I’m new but I had followed the conversation about including Cain/Leduc ‘s fall (I think it was MESS?) and I liked what you said about the point of the awards being fun and celebratory and not mean spirited. I think that was kind of an obvious choice. This is a little more ambiguous — on one hand, on paper it seems to be a perfect candidate, but because we DO know so much of the backstory, it makes it a little uncomfortable. But then again, other past candidates may have had similar things going on in the background and we just weren’t aware of it because they didn’t speak about it. I’m torn 🤷‍♀️ What does everyone else think?

It isn't the background that's the problem, it's what was going on right then and there. Gold showed up overweight, unfit, and unprepared for elite competition, taking a Grand Prix entry from someone else who would have been ready to compete and forfeiting the possibility of a future Grand Prix entry as a comeback skater.

Please do not include this program in the list of nominees.

@Ka3sha why the hell put it in russian thread first where no one cares about that when all that matters is who is banged by morozov where, when and how often.

Jealousy, honey. It’s all about jealousy. Ilinykh and Stolbova were my first two crushes and I guess I’m just a bitter, thirsty gay.

Try picturing Aliev, Samarin, and Murashov getting done hard by TAT and we’ll see how you like it!

I will join you!
And there are some rumors that Khudaberdieva/Nazarov (my fav Russian junior team) also parted their ways :wuzrobbed

In the words of the classic Russian novels,
“What is to be done? Who is to blame?”

(I’m really upset about this, they were my favorite juniors too)

I totally see your point, that's exactly why I asked for other opinions, thanks.
Question remains: Is too much 'political correctness' killing the fun factor in the train? Taking a look back to last year, Pogo won 2 awards with a very hurtful fall and and a horror skate/psycho knc. No one in here cared about iirc.

Thin red line this is 😕
Let's wait for other opinions, consensus will decide.

Just when I wasn't going to say negative things. Now, I can feel free to snark all I want to. Gubanova for the GP!

MOULIN ROUGE??? I’m so excited! Except I hope they give her good music cuts. I’m picturing Roxanne, not the love songs.

I think it'll be great! She does well with the dramatik :drama:

Thanks for the faith, Taso! Somebody’s gotta be optimistic around here!

I hope her cuts are good too! The thing that was disappointing to me about her Malaguena this year was the recording choice - there are far, far better renditions IMO. But the rest of her cuts have always been very good IMO!

I have faith in Stasya :) Though truly, she's my Liashenko of the current generation in some ways (except a decade younger, you know?)

Hm, as much as I love Stasia and this movie (my actual favourite movie), the choice leaves me :blah:
I can see her totally giving it all, another dramatic dying character, ...

But please skating gods, bring the good, unused original score of Craig Armstrong and not the 'classic' Tango de Roxanne, Come what may, etc.
(Craine had some good MR music, so there is hope after all)

po·lit·i·cal cor·rect·ness
/pəˈlidəkəl kəˈrek(t)nəs/
noun

  1. the avoidance, often considered as taken to extremes, of forms of expression or action that are perceived to exclude, marginalize, or insult groups of people who are socially disadvantaged or discriminated against.
"women like him for his civil rights stand and political correctness"

Trainwrecks are not, in and of themselves, socially disadvantaged or discriminated against. :COP:

People can empathize with skaters having those "bad day at the office" moments that are grist for the mill of :gallopin1-POTS, MESS, and even Tursy-POTS. When it's clear (at the time or in retrospect) that a skater is injured in a fall or suffering from depression, an eating distorder, or something similar, that is a different kettle of fish.

In honor of this thread, I would just like to contribute my own list of top 10 (OK, top 13) trainwreck performances in ice dance this season. Also, out of empathy for those fans who feel that their favorite team truly merits a spot at the top, they are in no particular order whatsoever:

I agree with all your points!
I hope she uses a very dark Roxanne and a cut of The Show Must Go On - I don’t think the sweet romantic stuff is for her.

She definitely will !

Off-topic, but I really like most of costumes made by this St Petersburg’ designer , who makes costumes for some of our beloved trainwrecks

I love that designer too! She is so creative and inventive. I loved her costumes for Stasya this year.

I agree with @alchemy void
I’ve voiced my opinion on the matter in general earlier, and the line is indeed thin, because I agree. It should be fun. In retrospect, Pogo’s bad fall where she injured her back, should maybe be left out of our polls. Looking at it now, I cringe. But maybe I’m just going soft?

GG’s skate was just bad. No splat or die, just doubling out. No fun, no heartbreak. I say leave it out.

Yesterday, at competition, one of my kiddos got an asthma attack during her program. Thankfully I wasn’t coaching, just watching. She fell to the ice going into a spin and bended over, half laying, half sitting, for a long time. Terrible. Afterwards she told me she could not breath at all and felt terrified. In the end, she was asssisted off the ice, crying heavily. She’s 13. I said earlier we should be more careful about junior MESS, bad ass Trusova maybe an exception. If this happened at an international comp, with a star skater, it could pass as MESS and POTS, as she was ok in a few hours, or maybe not?

My coach (also a judge) also told about another girl, who was so nervous she has to stop and puke (out on the ice!)during her program  and then couldn’t finish. Our team hasn’t seen it all yet.
