What are all these social services that are available for people to leech from if they identify themselves as an artist? How can I get in on that?
Sometimes Costco has free samples of crackers and cheese spread.

Rephrase: if one is doing something for a set period of time and can't make a living, switch to something where one can make a living. Because otherwise such often become bitter and angry at the "evil rich" and expect them to pay higher taxes so that there are more services that "government pay for" and the money come from taxes. What are all these social services that are available for people to leech from if they identify themselves as an artist? Argh!!! I'm sorry to hear that if it's true. I thought she had a lot of potential. It's a shame if she's not competing anymore.
Beautifully expressive SP performance to Sara Bareilles' "Gravity" by Amber Glenn tonight and she's in 1st place (66.75) at Midwestern Sectionals - landed 3F+3T that was called clean (though 2 judges gave her negative GOE), 2A & 3Lo with all level 4 spins and footwork. Great job!
I think Amber is right up there with Bradie when she puts it together. I hope she can get more consistent!
I am so glad to read it and that people say it openly. It also applies to any "artist and writers" or any very subjective criteria professions. Wish there was a law that states if one continues to pursue a profession that "does not pay rent" after x-number of years (especially if it is something artsy-fartsy with attitude) and one does not switch, then he/she is not allowed to receive any free social services. And with sports, which i consider "elective activities/hobbies", that should be the law also.
Reality is a very difficult concept to grasp.
Redirecting...
Looking at Nationals competitors from last year, filling in some blanks. I am assuming Franchesca Chiera is no longer competing? I haven't seen her all season.
Read the article. I totally forgot about Polina Edmunds.
That was quick! Polina competed her SP here in San Jose at US Nationals in January.
And sadly it was rather forgettable
For Tennell's short program, Richaud chose "Rebirth" by Hi-Finesse featuring Egyptian-British singer Natacha Atlas, from the 2014 thriller Lucy.
"Many times when I work with skaters, I make them perform to music other than (what) they will skate to, to make them feel different aspects of movement," Richaud said. "Last year, I put this on, and Bradie said, 'This is good, I like it.' I said, 'OK, we will keep it for next year.'"
"When we went on to the ice and starting working on (the short program), it was an organic process," he added. "We did it naturally, we had the music and we didn't need anything else."
The result is a fiercely driving program that requires Tennell to skate full-throttle for most of the routine.
"At the beginning, when we first choreographed it, (the choreography) felt very different, but I like to challenge myself," Tennell, who practiced the movements in front of a mirror, said. "That's the best way to grow."
"Why does it look so modern? Because I am French," Richaud laughed. "It was really funny last year; everyone was saying, 'Oh, she is doing Cinderella.' And Bradie is really very far from that. She has a lot of personality, she has a lot of power, and she works hard."

National Endowments of the Artsy-Fartsy annual budget: 0.15 billion
Your tax dollars being given to farmers every year: over 20 billion
How bout that.
Try doing your artsy stuff when you're starving to death. If you don't support your farmers....you die!
