But, #thefinger is emblematic of #TTWThey are higher ranked than Shpilevaya & Smirnov and deservedly so.
And am I the first to realize there is an actual train emoji as well as an oncoming bus.

And your point is??? When they start skating undoubtedly better or at the same level than the top teams yet still getting crap scores/results we could talk about some trainwrecky worthiness and even then some splats / WTF plus factor will be needed.
And Mozgov overthrows the partner with whom he is undefeated at the junior international level after one paltry senior season in which he debuts in 6th place at SA and only competes half of a French GP so that he can skate with . . . a girl who is mutually insane.
It wasn't. Sorry @Dobre.You have to admit, that was a good argument.
Slander! We all know perfectly well that Sinitsina & Katsalapov and Hubbell & Donohue have blanked up enough to be trainwreck worthy. But no one in charge of the team likes them enough to put them on it.
What an insult for Krylovaa team that is half Krylova-redux
Old merits do not count for the new team.Popova has years of winning early season JGP events and then mucking up opportunities to medal at Junior Worlds behind her. And Mozgov overthrows the partner with whom he is undefeated at the junior international level after one paltry senior season in which he debuts in 6th place at SA and only competes half of a French GP
My point is that Shpilevaya & Smirnov are the only dance team on Team Trainwreck. So arguing that Popova & Mozgov are too much of a "middle of the road" level team is a &(&*^ argument.
Honestly, if you blank up every other dance program you will never ever get to the top because the judges don't ever give dance teams the marks until they start delivering a bunch of programs in a row. You can't treat dancers like singles. We all know perfectly well that Sinitsina & Katsalapov and Hubbell & Donohue have blanked up enough to be trainwreck worthy. But no one in charge of the team likes them enough to put them on it. So here we have a perfectly good application in dinosaur costumes from a team that is half Krylova-redux and half Junior World Champion. A team that somehow managed to throw away a perfectly good opportunity at a top 24 SB score with an extremely easy caller at Golden Spin, thereby putting themselves out of the running for a guaranteed spot and behind six senior Russian dance teams--at least three of which they should be able to defeat--and placing themselves at the mercy of a whole bunch of GP host countries that are not going to want to invite them. Not to mention that it made it super easy for the judges at Russian Nationals to stick them behind Evdokimova & Bazin who then snag a free trip to Europeans after Zagorski & Guerreiro implode in the FD. Popova has years of winning early season JGP events and then mucking up opportunities to medal at Junior Worlds behind her. And Mozgov overthrows the partner with whom he is undefeated at the junior international level after one paltry senior season in which he debuts in 6th place at SA and only competes half of a French GP so that he can skate with . . . a girl who is mutually insane.
Boss and I have been using this on whatsapp:But, #thefinger is emblematic of #TTW
And am I the first to realize there is an actual train emoji as well as an oncoming bus.
All of those emoticons are but substitutes for
On the bright side, we now have several Poster Boy emoticons, such as 🕶.I agree, that train emoticon is way too bland to replace the suicide valquirie.
danny_salmon promoted to danny_shark! Now he has to live up to that!
OutedBoss and I have been using this on whatsapp:
Suicide Valquirie, love itI agree, that train emoticon is way too bland to replace the suicide valquirie.
Btw, has anyone any clue, for what the original stood for?
I always thought it was hilarious that the #ttw emoji was Galit, because she's the polar opposite of a "heartbreaking" #ttw skater, i.e. (and I say this as someone who was/is a huge fan of Chait/Sakhnovsky personally!) someone who had more medal success than a lot of people thought her "workhorse" skating merited. It's Galit Chait. I don't remember who said it or what exactly the description was, but basically her skating looked like she was "galloping".
Slander!
H/D have a 4CC's title and 2 world medals.
S/K have a world medal too.
4) Skater needs more splat/messy performances than great ones
But do they ever rock one day and splat the next? Or better yet, rock and splat in the same program?Per your own wording . . .
Messy performances are valid alternatives to splats, and Popova & Mozgov have plenty of messy performances, thank you .
But do they ever rock one day and splat the next? Or better yet, rock and splat in the same program?
If yes, please post links. Otherwise, .
You are long enough on this thread to know that statements like that never work in your favourUnless you are at the bottom of the pack:
Stavitskaya * cough *
Not a real splat.Splatting Dec. 7: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iqJkNS6wfDQ
Exhibitions don't count.Rocking Dec. 8 : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6asM8R2uHE4
So, to end this discussion once and for all: Popova/Mozgov fail the main criteria, heartbreak and thus won't make it.

Are there actually any ice dance teams which meet all these criteria? There definitely was one.. but they ceased to exist before the #ttw@Dobre you sound as if there is something inherently wrong about the difficulty of making Team Trainwreck in Ice Dance.
Criteria:
1) Skater needs a complete package to potentially be a top skater at Euros/4CC's/Worlds/Olympic level
2) Skater needs to have the ability to absolutely rock one day and splat the day after. Even better: rock and splat during one program
3) Skater is not afraid of breaking one's heart over and over again
4) Skater needs more splat/messy performances than great ones
Making it onto #TTW without having the requisite frequency of splats would be
