DWTS Season 24

So real ballroom dance question here .... which ballroom dance is it again that you are not allowed to break the hold, because every time I think 'oh its this one', they break their hold in the middle of the dance and do little dancey dance steps without being in their hold! Remember in one of the very early seasons when the Judges totally coming down on someone (who I can't remember now) for breaking the hold in the middle of the dance, you (Pro Dancer) know better than to do that, I was disappointed you did that in your routine blah blah blah. It was one of the first times that I remember them kind of really reaming someone who was one of the better dancers. Who was that again?????? Now its making me crazy trying to remember.
Len isn't as nitpicky anymore, but it was always the Quickstep and Tango. I wish he ould be pickier about it again.

Next week's supposed to be their "most memorable year". Any guesses what Nancy's will be? Duh!

Oh, I was watching Celebrity Name Game and Nancy Kerrigan was a clue. Whoever it was described her as a gymnast who got hit on the knee.

I'm hoping she picks 1992 for her 1st Olyh medal or the year she got married or when her kids were born & not 1994

I hope Nancy picks anything other than 1994! Why would you want "my most memorable year" to be "the year I was attacked". Frankly I wouldn't care if she made it a rider for her contract that she not be forced by the producers to pick that year. :shuffle:

My dream is for Nancy to pick 1994 and wear that white lace practice dress with those needless background dancers dressed as Tonya, Oksana, Lu Chen, the attackers, and Mickey Mouse while dancing to Neil Diamond.

Okay, I admit it ... this did make laugh. :P Although I still hope she does not pick 1994.

I'm wondering about Heather Morris. She could easily do the time she toured with Beyonce and do Single Ladies, though it would basically just be copying choreography. Or she could do 'Don't Stop Believing' or another Glee song from her time there. Who knows?

In the broadcast Maks said he hopes to be back by the end of this week - I wonder if that means he plans to be back on the show on Monday, or if Alan will do one more week with Heather.

I find this season that I don't have a favourite. Most years by this point I have someone that sticks out to me. Nobody is my 'gotta vote' person yet (last year was James for me).

I'm wondering if she'll pick the year her father died and make the dance a tribute to him. It would be very emotional and not at all what the general public would expect her to choose (they may not even know the story)- especially since her brother was involved :(

She definitely seems to be enjoying herself on the show and is doing an amazing job. I hope she continues and gets far in the competition!! She is really surprising me with how natural, personable, and likeable she is!

Videos with the most views are Maks & Val's. I wish Heather had been paired with Val IMO.

Maybe she picked the year she had her 1st son & she's doing My Wish because she wished for him all the good things that every mother wishes for their children. I haven't heard the song but the lyrics are nice.

Its a nice song in country style. I think the dance could end up being very moving.

Okay, so I've been tryin' to learn me like dancing music and guessing what tempos songs are 'n stuff like that when I hear them. :P So real dance people, how is "Shape of You" by Ed Sheeran a Rumba? Even the first time I heard that song I thought "oh that's a Samba, I hope someone dances a Samba to that on DWTS". I can even picture like where you would put the Samba rolls and some of the other steps. Aren't Rumba's like a really slow tempo, or do they just slow down or speed up the music and make it whatever the hell tempo they want. Or I could be wrong too, so there's that.

I'm no teknik when it comes to dance rhythms, but DWTS has been known to play music at slightly different tempos to conform to the beat requirements. ;)

For me, that's one of the reasons the band appears to suck lemons. When they have a chance, they can kill most types of music, but they're frequently handicapped by the odd song choices. Now, the singers, there's no excuse.

I had no clue who Normani was, but I quite like her. However, that damn dusty rose color again - why is this so popular, should have died in the 80's and stayed there. Does no favors for anyone! :drama:

Her dress was fabulous

1996 when her son Matthew was born, and she talked about then having 6 miscarriages in the next 8 years until they did invitro and had two more kids

I didn't know that about Nancy. I'm glad she had a good performance. Thanks for the info. :)
