I don't think it's going soft or being politically correct at all. Gracie clearly wasn't ready for elite level competition this season, and has been very vocal and public about her struggles the past few season, which she is still clearly working through. There's nothing fun watching that skate at all--which is the whole point of TTW, right? Including her in the finals seems a bit insensitive to me.

Pogo, on the other hand, is a completely different story. Yes, that last spin splat was horrific but the K&C is LEGENDARY and shows Tsareva and Pogo at their drama queen best. And it was a huge meltdown, but she had a great SP the day before. If she was clearly under duress the entire week, I think then it could be a different conversation.

By the way, I *LOVE* Moulin Rouge for Konstantinova! :cheer: I think she could really knock it out of the park, and I'm so happy to see a program different in tone from Anna Karenina. I'm really hoping she uses Bolero, which is a fantastic instrumental with many tempo changes, tons of energy, and just builds and builds. Kailani Craine had a pretty decent program (and an even better dress) to this in 2017-2018.

All of this :respec: That's the music I referred to earlier. I would love to see that.
Btw I can remember @Hanna and bossman simultaneously lip-syncing 'I only speak the truth' at Nebelhorn #relationshipgoals

Craine's dresses this season were bling all over it. I think she had at least 3 different FS costumes (2 I found).

So Gusmeroli just followed me on instagram. Now I have to figure out how to use this to influence her calling and politik for our favorites. :sekret:

OMG it’s awesome! My jewel thief.
I was gonna reply some more, but then Boss did it for me!

Good lord, how did that happen? 😅🤙🏼

Please do!
And try to stop her doing more snooze choreo for 🇩🇪 ladies!

Respect vice, respect!

I went all in! I nailed everything. I slayed for the team! :gallopin1
Yay! Congrats!
Today the feeling hit me you will go for a crazy Szewczenko-98-tribute doing stuff never done before and having an legendary :gallopin1-moment (something like 2s<< fall in the boards :gallopin1) I am relieved you could end your season on a high note instead! 😅

(and I luuurve your dress :swoon:)
Agree!
Though I wonder if someone with feathers growing outta her cleavage is the right person to criticize Schott's babywings :P

Personally I love the shot of you alone on the podium, as I have my own reality in which the other competitors were just too afraid to stand close to you cause you mean business 🤙🏼

She was definitely a disaster at SC all week. Her back clearly taped and/or wrapped up, maturing physically, missing loads of jumps in practices, barely communicating with her coach, and pouting like an adolescent. After seeing practices, Mom & I were dreading watching her compete. It was one of those times when you just want an athlete to spare themselves as they clearly aren't physically ready. How she pulled it out in the short program, I don't know. We had a feeling after the free that it was the end of her career, and unfortunately it was. But I can see how--watching it unfold on TV and after her dramatics the year before at Worlds--the SP success and free skate disaster at SC may have seemed to play like a drama. As that isn't how it played out for me in the audience, I probably won't watch that particular LP again.

Anyway, I appreciate the sentiment of the discussion. I think most of the time for these athletes that learning to move past the tough skates might as well be worn as a badge of honor. Learn to take the disappointments as part of the journey, move on, and commit to being better. And I appreciate the humor in this thread. On a weekend in which I have to hear about the probable disappearance of two thirds of the U.S. Junior Worlds ice dance team and two announcements from two athletes electing to skate to Moulin Rouge for next season, I am ironically finding the real news in the GSD quite depressing and this thread rather a comfort.
