Zag was fierce today. She made a very convincing Carmen. Hope she can keep this up for next season.

Also imagine if Tuk had been at Worlds, there could have been a podium sweep of Russian ladies with boobs :P I’m all for that :respec:

I guess 2009 when Khokhlova & Novitski entered as Euro Champions and definetly had a shot at a medal but in the end judges preferred Domnina/Shabalin and threw La Khokh under the bus .
 
So who does everyone think the Russian fed. is backing here?

Are they sticking to S/B as they were the majority of the season and the S/K Nationals support was a hiccup? Or are they going to gamble and try to do both?

I don't remember the exact margin but they were very close after the SD at the GPF too so it will be interesting to see if the judges go the same way again if both perform well or they switch this time.

Feigin - The old costume was the most interesting about this FS and now it's gone!
Lecavelier - Discussing the new LesMis-FS of Kayne/O'Shea during this with @levineismine says enough :shuffle:
Chartrand - So nationals was just a fluke? :( (((@pinky166 ))) I really had a soft spot for this FS. #beatenbymckay :scream:
Williams - That was a mess but she will have me by her side cheering. #untilthebitterend
Kiibus - Why is there no skating order rule in the 2 first flight like in the 2 last flights? Another intentional double! 🆘

Group 2
Brezinova - She secured the 2nd spot for Queen U at euros, that's all that matters.
Ryabova - Rock solid, vice might be pleased.
Chen - CHN fed better calls Zhang to start a 2nd comeback.
Hendrickx - I totally was into that beat; felt kinda sloppy, but coming of injury, good outing.
Grm - Vice might be pleased to hear german eurosport was totally rooting for her. Well done Dasa, you are our hero! :love:
Leung - I love her attack, the fierce costume and the kick-arse program. I was rooting all season for her. And her freakin' spiky nails deserve a thread of their own!

That rule change was made mostly after Sochi when LIebers and Brown drew to skate last in Men's event killing all momentum from the final. So basically a made for TV rule restriction that shouldn't apply to warm up groups that don't usually make it to the TV in the first place.

Group 3
Daleman - Well, this was a hot mess right from the start. No fire, no speed, totally uninspired right from the start. Puh, very gifted with the scores.
Tennell - So not my cup of tea but boy she delivered :respec:
Schott - Daleman, Tennell, Samodurova, Miyahara, Kihira and da Schott :rofl: Season's best:105, Points to beat: 150 :gallopin1Oh boy, this was even better than Spodyriev in penultimate flight :rofl: That was a hot mess. She did fight, did not go for 2x 2a but yeah, the season has been a mess and the new system does not work for her at all (this season); hope she stays injury-free until next season, might get a GP with some luck and the clashes back in with 3a! :biggrinbo
Samodurova - PMAOL about the ponytail having a totally different hair colour than the rest on her head :rofl: Congrats to an ****ing awesome season Sofia :encore:What a surprise that was!
Miyahara - Good lord, I am becoming a die-hard fan of her. This was so good, her eye-game is so spot on! Loved it from the start. Shame about the stupid slip :wall: 2pts difference to Tennell in PCS :rolleyes:
Kihira - Kudos for the TES, but yeah, no secret #teammihara :drama:

Group 4
Medvedeva - I am really happy for her (and this comeback); shoutout to the 3s3lo-miki-memorial :love: but: as much as I am happy for her I totally dislike that RUS fed now think they were right, what was obviously wrong. But Med is not responsible for this. To me this was still uninspired and a shade of her former self but she landed shit again! Kudos! :respec: Medal would be one sweet thing.
Bell - Although this was not bad, she seemed wrong in that final flight for me, sorry. (not as wrong as Schott on penultimate though :p) Best '**** u'-reaction :respec:
Lim - It's official: I love her. So good :swoon: (of course with her constant :gallopin1-episodes ) 2spots! All that matters!
Sakamoto - 'The tale of Karoi and the flip!' :drama: I think she was really robbed of a medal here (by overscoring of others) :( (((@SmallFairy )))
Zagitova - By the skin of her teeth! What a satisfaction! :love: #champ
Tursynbaeva - Tursy winning medal and we don't get mama :drama: Scandal of the season! :mitchell:

I don't know why RUS fed would think that. They probably would have equally :skandal :bloc: Tuktamysheva's PCS to get her on the podium instead had she been here. :cat:

Agreed. She's just not up there technically. But, heck, I consider everything she does now gravy since I never expected her to make a world team anyway after watching her novice and junior career with all those charming programs and consistent splats. And I was sooo proud of her guts to deliver that skate under such difficult circumstances. Well done, girl!

Her SP jumps were 2A, 3Lz+3T, 3F.

The SP jumps of the eventual silver medalist were 3Lz, 2A, 3S+3T.

The SP jumps of the eventual bronze medalist wer: 3F+3T<, 2A, 3Lo.

And all three of them achieved Level 4 on all of their non-jump elements.

It's the actual Total Score in the SP, not projected (or actual) score in the FS, that determines who makes the final group. :COP:

USA2 - Diva!!!!

USA1 - Finally Skated with the right attack
RUS2 - Good Puppy but not enough
RUS1 - Nikita 1st medal after 9 years!!!!
FRA - They are great but not that great

Love how everyone bitches about Eteri not making it to knc, do we have the same talk for MFD?:huh:

Group 1
LTU - I am happy this FD is gone as it literally made me 'crazy' during the season; apart fro that I am damn happy for Saulius, who looked so incredible handsome once again.
GER - Kudos :respec: Great progress during the season! They made a statement, I think this won't be easy for Joti/Schott2 and #cancerdance catching up here.
UKR - KNC as miserable as ever. I am still have big doubts seeing them together next season. Sorry @Hanna :(
HUN - This wannabe avant-garde program just did not work for them. Phantom last season was so much better. Apart from that, total stagnation if not regress.
FIN - They skated this FD more cleanish earlier in the season, apart from that, this was pretty much enjoyable.

Group 2
POL - I just don't get the (judges) love for them.
ESP - Boy his biceps were shaking getting her up in that final choreo lift :eek: I ike how this program builds.Well skated, dressed so well. I fear this won't make Top10, which at least, keeps the spanish catfight alive. (and as he was sitting again with them, and @Ka3sha informed me who he is: shoutout to Zhulin's lift-guy who really has come up with great stuff the last few years!)
FRA2 - I am a sucker for the 'Talking to the moon'* part :swoon: #softie ; you could tell from their faces, they lost their own spot for next season when they will be overrun by G/T.
GBR - It's fun this year but not next season when everyone wants to go that route. I prefer any (!) warhorse skated with actual skills over this.
CHN - No fan of this program but I like their steady progress. And hell, he is a hunk of a guy! :eek:

Someone knows who did the commentary for BBC?

* I am really obsessed with 'moon'-parts in FS, I love them all :love:
