Men Final Groups 1 & 2

Granpa - Dracula sucked the blood out of him. Time to think in future plans
Tanaka - That Willem Tell step sequence is quite good. Stil miss Tomono
Yuri - I think this was a step in the right direction but please train quads all the off season.
Skinny Travolta - after the most depressing cover of course the 2nd half looks as the most fun ever .. LOL at the looong set up for a butched quad.
OAS - Points for including 30 Seconds to Mars but that was a mess, freak fall included.
Greatest Boreman - He's sooo paper pale. Nice recovery after the mistakes. But better PCS than Denis and Tanaka??? Drunk judges.
Alaskan Canadian- He's a good Chaplin but Ive seen this programm too much already. Now full pressure on Nam to improve or bye 2nd spot.
AZE Boy - This was a done by the numbers nutcracker but I like this kid Loved how he was clapping before entering the ice, the emotion of the first worlds.
Cuban Pete - Ive trashed him enough already. He's a veteran and he's a nice son that's all that matters.
Posterboy - DELUXE!! Black wolf was very hungry and ate the white wolf with no remorse. SEriously, whta the hell goes through his head those 4 minutes?? He completeley switches off.
Noodle - Who knew it would be the canadian men who would end with 1 spot and do worse than the ladies?? @Jeschke must be crying for all his pretty bland boys who will never get to go to worlds.
Cinderello - oh well, your rise to super stardom will have to wait just a little.

Best Dressed - Vasiljevs & Tanaka
Do - Hard Kerry

Granpa will continue??? Yikes, oh well at least with hiim I know what to expect instead of bipolar wolf
Rumor says he plans to. I hope so if for nothing else it pushes Wolfboy to get his act together. A little competition did wonders for Rizzo.

Posterboy just doesn't seem as self disciplined as Rizzo. But we'll see.

Isn't she?

Her SP jumps were 2A, 3Lz+3T, 3F.

The SP jumps of the eventual silver medalist were 3Lz, 2A, 3S+3T.

The SP jumps of the eventual bronze medalist wer: 3F+3T<, 2A, 3Lo.

And all three of them achieved Level 4 on all of their non-jump elements.

It's the actual Total Score in the SP, not projected (or actual) score in the FS, that determines who makes the final group. :COP:

Point well taken that her attempted content in the SP fits in with the best, though I don't buy that she actually rotated that 3z-3t in the worlds SP. But her lack of technical content (no 3-3s) in the LP does stand out, even though she has maximized the program to what she can do successfully.

Men Final : Splat or Die Fest.

Baba Yaga : Only a step out and doubling a jump? By his standards this was ultra clean Of course it was when he already hit rock bottom but is a start. Please Misha, relaaaax!!
Morisi: That last fall was horrific and sadly the most interesting part of that performance.
La Tuk's Sub Boy: 2 quads!! Great effort for a last minute replacement. Chosing a bombastic classic music piece feels so retro these days.
Le Petit: This program is so heartfelt I wouldnt mind seeing it another season. A shame he will miss top 10 by 1 spot. Next year Adam is going to be a big obstacle.
Spideryang: So happy to see him gaining his form back. Love the gold blades. They need to increase again the running time for men, that final step could have been epic but the guys always rush to finish on time.
Bel Ami Veteran: Wow, he even made Raf enthusiastic!! A man has been reborn!!
UR king: Yay Vincent!! That was awesome. Redemption after last worlds.
#1 - Not today and honestly that score was generous.
Big Bro Rizzo - *sighs* still amazing season for him. LOL at Kolyada ending as the top european.
Sensei - OMG!! the shrieks of the audience whenever he landed something. It was like being in a roman colisseum.
Grease Boy - What a clinic.. Raf today does not sleep
Velvet Boy - an afterthought.

Overall thank god this was 100x better than the disastrous last Men's worlds.

Best Dressed - Zhou
Do Hard - Lazukin, Zhou, Mikhail, Rizzo, Jin. Im greedy.

#TTW was classic #TTW. If anybody doesn't understand why/how members make the train, they only have to look at the men's comp this worlds.

There are no words to describe Hanyu. Will he continue another season? Can his knees and ankles last another season? Will he stay until he masters the 4A? The man is a multimillionaire in Japan in his early 20s. Each season he skates is just a blessing to see where he can push the sport.

Men was exhausting. I could watch the first first two, then the last group.

Cutie Tanaka had a nice clean skate, but watered down. Oh well. The last 1,5 min was still too great.

Skateboard Guy was awesome😍 His SP has better choreo, but the FS finally lits up, and what a way to do it.
(((Canadian men)))
Good for Russian guys climbing in the stands.
(((Shoma)))
Rizzo:cheer: quad aside, what a good placement for him. Hope his butt is ok, that quad went straight down ;)
Big bro - Raf indeed needed to chill out today. Good for him!

And goodbye Cuban Pete! You've done a lot for Nordic skating. I remember you as a tiny 14 year old at Nordics looooong time ago. It's been great fun. #skeletorforever
#nosebleedforever

Also, while driving to and from practice I listened to Eurosport coverage on my phone in the car. Seems like Julian L. had a totally weird fall on his lutz entry. MESS-worthy? Will check it out.

ETA yes, he was going backwards on two feet then just slipped, landed on his butt and almost summersaulted afterwards. No video yet, just watched the Eurosport stream.

So what happened to Samohin (I can’t watch him any more out of fear he will do permanent injury)? Did he splat or pop, or not attempt?

Bossman Worlds Ice Dance FD recap

Group 3
Fournier Beaudry/Sorensen - They need a new way to travel. Caravan an train they might leave behind after this season ;)
Hawayek/Baker - So not my cup of tea.
Guignard/Fabbri - I never got tired of this stunning FD; I loved it from the first time I saw it this season.
Chock/Bates - I can't stand this new choreo shit stuff in ice dance, but this/these choreo lift and steps by them to end the program is/are pure killer. This was so awesome. I really want that on podium.
Gilles/Poirier - This FD was magical for me all season, but it felt kinda flat today. Too much Hocke fake smiling by her, strange level calls on the twizzles. Either way. I am biased with them due their coach's shitty attitude.

Group 4
Weaver/Poje - I think they were tremendously overscored in their RD TES and while this FD was skated well, I really do not hope they win a medal due to that :angryfire
Hubbell/Donohue - I might be the minority in here, but I hope that won't medal. Overemoted. Never got me. Sorry @levineismine :(
Stepanova/Bukin - Did not get me either unfortunately. Puppy face is priceless. Awesome how he just looks satisfied with the scores, not caring that he might lost a medal
Sinitsina/Katsalapov - I totally loved the first 3 minutes. The music cut makes not sense at all (of course not, it's Zhulin), but who cares? That was breathtaking. What a comeback this season. Hitman crying
Papadakis/Cizeron - This was absolutely mind-blowing (especially the 1st half). I know I am the first one to bitch about same style all over again, but if you watch them, it's just pure magic. Congrats.

Wishes for next season
- not a dozen Discobrits-wannabe-programs
- reducing of this choreo show stuff and...
- ...back to real ice dance...
- ...where levels (skills) still are the the deciding factor and not GOE welfare.

Bossman Worlds Men FS recap

Group 1
Bychenko - Was this goodbye? (((@pinky166 ))) :(
Tanaka - No balls for hard combos. 3-2 is so Weinzierl! @SmallFairy enough of this, quit the field, Tomono time!
Vasiljevs - This is, hands down, my favourite male FS of the season. Best costume, too. A shame the jumps are the way they are.
Kerry - Why we needed that emo version to start, god only knows, the rest was fun. The happy clappy drives me insane already and he is only bib 4 :scream: He is pretty, so that keeps me entertained.
Yee - One day there will be happy clappy to 'Schindler's list' :wall: The program (and music mix) makes no sense at all.
Samarin - The 4lz is so badass :respec: I really like the soft part to start and the fun to end of this program, the mid-part is a total mess, so I am happy that program is gone for good now. Thanks for bowing out with a belly show :smokin: So hot :smokin:

Group 2
Messing - His belly flop splats are legendary. What happened to his hair? He looked quite decent here in JPN  One last ride at WTT, then this program will finally be gone.
Litvintsev - Totally love his classic look on the ice. One to watch for the future. Awesome. (german eurosport lady might be our cell neighbor anytime soon @SmallFairy :D)
Majorov - Farewell Viking! Long route it was! (love the JPN audience here, knowing it's the end, giving him a SO)
Samohin - A classic Salmon :( (((@Laney)))
Nguyen - A shame he could not hold on after this stunning beginning. LLL was such a good vehcile for Nam. Canada down to 1 spot :yikes: (((:gallopin1-trio)))
Cha - We have seen him way better this season already. Nonetheless, I am looking forward to him progressing.

LOL at y’all drooling over the guys. I mean seriously did you see the pair ladies?

Sui - “the way that you flip your hair gets me overwhelmed”
Tarasova - she is just impossibly pretty. She looks like a younger version of Charity Barnum from The Greatest Showman.
Zabiiako - I can’t date a girl in a cheap knight costume, but in the free skate, she was gorgeous.
Peng - somehow she went from fragile butterfly girl to hot girlfriend material in one year.
Vanessa - stunning as usual. But she’s older than me so I see her as the beautiful, cool aunt you’d want to go shopping with 😀

They're all older than you.

Bossman Worlds Men FS recap

Group 3
Kolyada - That little bastard  Damn SP of the RUS guys, this will be a nailbiter for the 3spots. Hope still on. @Ka3sha feels like this is your day :cheer2:
Kvitelashvili - Guilty-pleasure-FS! #killersplat :scream: Georgian official is back
Lazukin - Oh yes, RUS boys are not handing the spots down that easily! Great outing for his debut. I do fear RUS will end up 7, 8, 9 :gallopin1 Still, he should not have ditched the Rachmaninov-FS, this was so much better and scored so well early this season.
Aymoz - I can't wait for next season! I totally expected him to faint in knc :gallopin1
Jin - Still not my cup of tea, but I like the approach with this program. Happy for him after last season's fiasco.
Brezina - Now his career might be over he can pass his outfit to Dimitrescu to keep it in the family. Joking aside, will he be back? @rfisher speak, I have no clue! 2spots for no guys with minimums :gallopin1

Group 4
Zhou - I am a sucker for the 'CTHD' soundtrack and this program works perfectly for Zhou. PMAOL over Gambill's mid-program-orgasming! I smell a medal.
Uno - Beginning was Sasha Cohen all over again. (((@SmallFairy )))
Rizzo - Well done! I was so distracted by that freaky necklace flying around his neck like crazy. Well done BabyRizzo! Grassl gives his thanks. (((RUSspots)))
Hanyu - Holy shit!
Chen - Can't help, this felt kinda flat after Hanyu. But boy, the jumps were on. Congrats!
Brown - Most anti-climatic closing since Testa/Csolley Euros'15.

Who knows? Michal is on a roll, there is nobody at home to take his spot. He's apparently able to afford coaching and still competing, so who knows? Raf had quite the competition with his boys. He's probably pretending the girls didn't come this time so he won't have to be drawn into the drama anymore than he already is. Bless him.

I just wonder when people will stop blaming everybody else for Brown's placement and put the blame where it belongs. He can do OK in the SP if others make mistakes, but he's buried in the free skate and it will only get worse over time. Tomoki will have that third spot next year. Mark my words.

Just watched my posterboy... Oh boy... that was painful to watch. Wasn´t sure if I should watch it at all, but as a fan I should. But I´ll never re-watch it. It was too much to ask for the skate gods to let him shine today. I got two gold medals this worlds with Sui/Han and Papadakis/Cizeron, it would have been too much to ask for more. So after posterboy, I re-watched Gabriella and Guillaume 5 times in a row and feel better now :D
But still: (((posterboy!)))

In the end, I got everything I wanted. Gold for Zagitova, silver for Sin/Kats (gold for Pap/Ciz was a given so I don't count it), silver and bronze for Tar/Mor and Zab/Enb, gold and silver for Nathan and Yuzu (I'd have been good with either way that went). Bonus was bronze for Vincent who's worked hard this season, silver for Tursy and the quad, bronze for Med (that was a gutsy skate especially if she was hurting), Brezina didn't suck and Kolyada finally beat that damn bull. And, even though I prefer the Russians, Sui/Han's free skate was absolutely the best and they totally deserved gold.
