And what is with Korea forcing them to compete over and over?! It's a long season, let them rest already.

Here is the list of reasons why Korean skaters have long seasons.
  • In theory, KSU requires only 2 competitions (ranking and National) for seniors and one additional (JGP selection) for juniors. However, South Korea does not offer summer club competitions, which forces skaters to look for suitable competitions for somewhere else.
  • Winter Festival results are necessary to create a college application portfolio. Figure skaters cannot skip this competition since they compete with athletes from other disciplines for a limited entrance quota.
  • South Korea does not have a varsity league for figure skaters. In lieu of this, schools require skaters to participate in Winter Festival competitions.

Here is an Olympic vlog created by Yoon-gi KWAK, a Beijing silver medalist, featuring Young YOU. Mr. Kwak is teaching Young how to do short-track,

By the way, Korean fans are sure that the girl with a mask at 5:35 is Alysa Liu.

Seoyeong WI posted a message from Eunsoo LIM as an insta story:

Eunsoo lost her personal information to a phishing scheme (someone claimed they were from the instagram company and needed her information to verify the account.). As a result, she cannot control her SNS accounts such as facebook and instagram any more.

Yuna KIM attended Dior Fall Collection presented at Seoul,

There are four photos. The third one is Yuna and Pietro Beccari, Dior CEO. The last one is Yuna and Maria Grazia Chiuri, the creative director.

I believe this is what Yuna wore.

Do we know if Haein has moved permanently to Colorado or if she’s just there for the summer (or some other shorter period)?

This is great - Korea has an entry in all 7 JGP events, which means that each of these teams could get 2 placements if they're able. That would be really exciting!
And they have two entries for Jr Worlds next year - should be very competitive!

Somebody pls remind me - when does the JrGP begin? (I found it - see below.) It can’t come quickly enough! It’s almost August…we’re halfway through July!

I found this:

August 24 in Courchevel, France! 🇫🇷

Rather curious that selection rounds for the JGP (begins August 2022) and Universiade (begins January 2023) would be scheduled on the same date.
Props to Younghyun Cha for doing programmes within a couple hours back-to-back.

Re-posting this article from the Challenger Series thread - info from All that Sports, the management company of Yelim Kim, Haein Lee, and Jia Shin (assigned to JGPs #3 & 6):

Yelim Kim will start her season at U.S. International Classic while Haein Lee will be at Ondrej Nepela.
Machine translated excerpts:
Kim's new short program song for this season is 'Mercy' by Max Richter, a British composer.
As a free program, she chose the soundtrack for the film 'Summer of '42'. The choreography is the work of David Wilson (Canada), who is well known as 'Kim Yuna's choreographer' for both short and free programs.
Through her management sign, All That Sports, Kim Ye-lim revealed, "These songs were selected after long discussions with her choreographer to give a new feeling away from the style she has shown so far."
She continued, "The point is the unique movements that feel foreign in the short program, and the emotional expressions that change according to the rising music in the free program," she explained about her program.
Hae-in Lee, who won the silver medal at the 2022 ISU Four Continents Championships, chose 'Storm', composed by Canadian figure skater Eric Radford, for the short program, and the choreography was choreographed by Tom Dickson of the United States. Lee Hae-in's pre-program music is familiar to many people, the musical 'The Phantom of the Opera', and the choreography was performed by Shae-Lynn Bourne (Canada).
Lee Hae-in said, "This season, I worked with foreign choreographers for the first time. Working abroad was both tense and unfamiliar, but I felt it was a new challenge, so I gained confidence and learned a lot."
..."The short program was selected after consulting with the choreographer because I liked the atmosphere of the music.
Regarding the [free]-program, "Phantom of the Opera has been a song I've wanted to do for a long time. In particular, I paid attention to the movements and expressions to capture the love and courage of the main character, Christine," said Lee Hae-in. I will try my best to make it happen,” she said.
Jia Shin, who won the Junior World Championship medal [silver] for the first time in 16 years since Yuna Kim, has a new short program called “The Giving,” composed by American singer-songwriter Michael Smith, and a free program, composed by Italian composer Roberto Caciapaglia. I chose the 'Tree of life suite' ... Both programs are the work of choreographer Shin Ye-ji.
Shin Jia said, "The music for this season's program was decided by the recommendation of the choreographer and coach. The short program tried to express the melody with gentle movements using the arms in a sparkling and cute atmosphere." "The [free] program is different from the short program. As it is a magnificent and mysterious music that contradicts each other, I focused on equipping myself with the power to lead the acting by using a large body.”
