Did anyone else see the series finale of Veep. I would love to talk about it. Also, does anyone here still watch Game of Thrones?

The Dany as the mad queen plot is so contrived; they completely ruined Jamie’s character development and Jon Snow still knows nothing.
I think you’re right. I can see the point but it’s been so rushed.
Greyworm himself also lost it and started just killing mindlessly. He and Dany are both seriously grieving and angry so they are not being rational nor do they care to be right now.
The unsullied are trained to not be emotional. gray worm watched Dany closely and followed dany’s action. He threw the spear only after she started burning stuff again. He was following her lead (her implied orders).
Daenerys’s tyrannical tendencies always being there.
I am certainly old enough to remember the originals, but don't have Amazon Prime so have no answers unless you want to describe the spoofs? We could always take it off line. The Carol Burnett Show Season 1 (The Lost Episodes) are up on Amazon Prime!
ETA: The second skit in the first episode is clearly spoofing commercials that were out at the time. Can anyone remember what the originals were? I know the butter reference but not most of the others.
We’ve been rewatching Seasons 1-3 of GOT in between episodes of the new season & I kind of agree with @VIETgrlTerifa about Daenerys’s tyrannical tendencies always being there. It’s more clear upon rewatching. I think when I first saw these episodes, I was sort of caught up with the idea of this once-helpless, naive girl finding the agency & strength to take charge of everything. After rewatching, it just feels like her only real goal was power. Also I realized that, while technically she freed the Unsullied, arguably she just continues to exploit & use them.
I feel like this final season has been spotty and uneven in terms of the characterizations, the logic, the battle strategies, you name it.
All of the things people are noticing now happened before Varys and Tyrion joined her side.
Heck Varys tries to poison her with his little kitchen helper at the beginning of the episode after he declared his loyalty a short time ago.
The tyrannical tendencies weren't clear to me early on. I saw young Daenerys as a fighter who would use opportunity to advantage, as she did when married to Drogo. She succeeded in creating an equal relationship of sorts with Drogo, but also did seem to love her very much.
When she stood naked in the fire her and dragons were born, I saw her as a mythic goddess-like character. At the same when she took charge of the Unsullied and supported the emancipation of the slaves, I saw her very much as a capable, compassionate leader. And continued to see her as such for most of the series. Yes, she was also arrogant, but that didn't take away from her good qualities.
Dany was a much more sympathetic character early on. The last couple of seasons have kind of been an object lesson in how "absolute power corrupts absolutely," even with someone who started on their quest for power with the best of intentions.
Just saw the series finale of The Big Bang Theory. Overall, I liked it but it felt a bit incomplete. They certainly left enough space for a possible reboot, did they?
I would say not so much "corrupt" as power hungry and entitled.
