Omg, that shirt is almost at nipple level. I love that the defining characteristic for Volchkova's students, other than being ridiculous headcases, is belly.
Kurbanov, Murashov, Yablokov.
Who is next? :watch:

On a serious note: I really liked the kid. I hope Volchkova will finally get some politiking lessons.

You need experience a pbp thread with @Jeschke, @SmallFairy, @rfisher, @pinky166, @Wyliefan and of course many others--including myself. I think a lot of the pbps these days are more or less an extension of this thread, mostly filled with deluded positivity, superficial comments, and fluff. :cheer:
I would agree with this. Plus, all sorts of people who never post on #TTW use our lingo (like "the Team," and it's clearly not the Russian World Team). Even so, all the most important stuff gets posted here during the breaks where the wrong people won't even think to look.

:sneaky: :sekret: :gallopin1

Russian Junior Nationals Ice Dance:

Shevchenko/Eremenko - @SmallFairy you can have the finger, these 2 are mine now. I totally love them. The best thing is, both are mesmerizing, it's not like you focus only her or him! Loved the little kiss. This FD is one of my favourites this season (with seniors too), so sorry @levineismine , gold is not there to grab for some other team! :D
Ushakova/Nekrasov - Disappointment of the season; they were light and fun last season, this year all looks staged and fake.
Khudaiberdieva/Nazarov - Uh yes. They are so good as well. They are my discovery of the season. Are they still junior eligible next year? He looked so devastated in the knc :( Did he seriously believe he could move up?
Shanaeva/Naryzhnyy - I love that google translate translates him with david extreme  How come I missed them at jgp? Very very good.
Katashinskaya/Vaskovich - Discovery of the event. So good :swoon: @alchemy void might approve the dedication of the russian juniors to ABBA music :respec:
(linked Mentor Torun FD as no uploads of nationals so far)

Overall - Are S/E still junior eligible next season? Not that I expect them to stay. That (hopefully) 3rd olympic spot will be a damn exciting fight (((@taz'smum )))

Ever since the prevalence of live feeds for small competitions, the pbp threads have largely been amazing, because in the small-comp threads, it's all lovely people like @alchemy void and @Hanna who are super-positive about everyone, and ever since, I think that culture has carried over to the big competition threads more. Still snark, of course, but with humour not malice. Also perhaps because people know all the lower-ranked skaters better, since more smaller comps are streamed.

(Or I just have the right people blocked these days)

Sorry, but #ttw needs Shpilevaya/Smirnov there!

Challenger gold medal?
Gold is overrated in here.

Russian nationals silver medal?
You funny funny thing.

3 times Russian cup final winners
Okay, that actually sounds something :gallopin1-worthy to aim for! Btw, who is chosen for Universiade? Why didn't they get that? There must have been some school both were enlisted in the past few years.

Given Kovtun's total meltdown at Europeans, hope is in the air. I wonder if Voronov is still injured. I'd have thought he'd be looking for a way to get his name back in the hat.

Some other news:
- Aliev changed his SP to “Midnight Blues” and will be at the Russian Cup Final
Oh no! I loved loved loved Modigliani Suite for him!
Some change of style might not be the worst decision though.
So he gets WTT too or what sense in changing the SP that late in the season?

Some other news:
- Kovtun won’t take part in RCP, he has focused on Universiade
Ah, no head to head skateoff :drama:

- Hurtado and #monko’sman are officially going to Worlds
:respec:

#TTWLurker! :D

This is seriously the best thread on FSU for fun that is not mean snark. I don't post much but love the #TTW vibe! :respec:

Shevchenko/Eremenko, Khadaiberdieva/Nazarov, and Kuts/Mikhailov age out after this season. S/E have leapfrogged Ushakova/Nekrasov and probably partially because Russia wants to push them to set them up for their senior debut. Much like Russia favored Skoptcova/Aleshin last season because it was their last season of junior eligibility.

Next year, Russia returns the medal-winning teams of Ushakova/Nekrasov, Shanaeva/Naryzhnyy, Ivanenko/Karpov, and Davis/Smolkin to the JGP.

Max, probably figures it's his only chance at some prize money. Assuming they get some. If Aliev doesn't bomb the Russian Cup Final, I betting he gets the spot along with Kolyada and Samarin. If he does, who knows?

Nah, I'm betting the spot is Kovtun otherwise he'd be made to go there but he isn't.
