Having seen the show, I'm thinking you are right. Life after skating is a tough transition for all skaters, and Tonya has less education than most and she couldn't be a coach or be a regular show skater. Whatever lies Tonya is telling is probably her coping mechanism to keep her sane, from spiralling into depression, etc.

I once had a job experience where I faced a harsh reality about my so so quality of work. When I realized my supervisor didn't think much of me, I did spiral into depression. Eventually I faced my demons and improved my work, but the emotional low for months on end was very hard to take, and I now see a lot of people, under similar situations, just go on denials and blame everyone but themselves, and people have a way of convincing themselves that their own version of events is the TRUTH. That denial stuff happens every day. Tonya's is just larger than life

It is nice that one person under-stand's me on this web sight, but too many do not and the many positive messages about Tonia hardened criminal have made me think I should go away for a while. It's probably healthier for Tonya NOT to follow the sport she got kicked out of back when most of the current champions were either not born yet or were very small children.
 
I love how he called it like it is. Some people in the skating community can't let it go but the growing general feel is time to move on already with the general population.

I kind of feel the same way. And given that Sasha may not be able to lift Tonya , highlight moves like a butt spin are going to be done... and how can you not enjoy that? lol

Well, my old pseud I had years ago, The Looney Tunes Fairy, might understand you. Or is it Looney Toons perhaps. I guess we'll never know for sure or not if The Looney Tunes Fairy understands you since the Fairy doesn't exist anymore. Oh well! o_O :whistle:
 
What skating shows? Tonya is a 47 year old, out of shape (for a normal 47 year old woman, no ..... for a pro skater, yes she is), still disliked skater who can land a couple of double jumps. I don't see anyone lining up for that. With her continued arrogant comments like "I DESERVE this!" and "I had everything TAKEN AWAY from me!" (uh, no Tonya, you lost it via your own actions), and still lying about things every time she opens her mouth, she's not helping her case.

You are basing your observations on the obscure skating fan (if I could think of a word more effective than obscure I would use it) most 47 year old women would kill to have Tonya’s physical abilities. Your dislike doesn’t give you the freedom to make up random fake facts to back up your opinions.

oh, and you mean like Tonya's random fake facts that she makes up? Okay. And exactly what in my statement is "fake facts"? Those quotes are directly out of Tonya's mouth on her DWTS segment. I don't see a single random fake fact anywhere in my statement. Go ahead, point it out. Fact: she is 47 years old. Fact: she is out of shape for a pro figure skater. Fact: she is still disliked. Fact: she can only land a couple of double jumps. Fact: she said those exact statements; those quotes came directly out of Tonya's mouth. Fact: she still lies. Other than you claiming that compared to a “normal” 47 yo women Tonya is out of shape? You can call her a liar, faker, whatever you feel like she is but when you make a generalization like that at least provide the facts to back it up.

Plus saying “compared to a pro skater” isn’t a good comparison when Tonya never had that opportunity, regardless of her own fault when it comes to that.

Well if we are comparing U.S. skaters of the past. Names like Cohen and Hughes come to mind, when they last skated professionally they didn’t even bother with jumps no? Are there any direct examples of her contemporaries landing more than a “couple double jumps” at said age? I’m not calling Tonya a patron saint but at least provide examples.
