DWTS S26: All-Athletes Edition! (i.e. the DWTS thread for NOT yammering about what happened 24 years ago)

I have to admit I was hoping for more. But I didn’t love any of them.

Well, I see the Judges have set this up for Tonya to win.

Lol x1000. She’s in last place right now and she delivered a much stronger freestyle than Adam. I wanted to love Adam’s freestyle but the lights killed it and there were a lot of really empty spots or places where he was letting Jenna do the dancing.

I'd have Tonya first in the freestyle, then probably Josh 2nd, Adam 3rd.

Also, that is the first dance all season where Adam was not tied for or alone at the top of the leaderboard.

But Tonya was not 10 worthy either. It was very sloppy in parts. All of them were sloppy in parts. Frankly, none of them deserved 10s. These were not as good a Freestyles as we are used to seeing in the Finals.

Adam still has more points than Tonya. Hopefully @screech can break down how many votes they need now.

Tom Bergeron has said he doesn't think they'll do a 4 week season again.

They only announced the winners. It was quick...too quick. At least interview the winners. But the whole season was basically a blip on the radar. I wish we could have seen Adam on a full season.

They’re not going to say. They leave it up to the imagination of the fans of both can think they were second.

The 4 week format was too short and so was the 1 hour finale.

So little tidbit - Adam's overall average point total gives him the 17th highest average in DWTS history. (Meryl is still 1st, and Kristi, from way back in season 6, is ranked 2nd. Charlie is 42nd.)

Adam and Jenna will be interviewed at the BUILD Series in NYC on Thursday at 5pm ET, it will be livestreamed

I didn’t like this four week format at all. My favorite style Argentine tango and Paso Doble weren’t done. I said good bye to too many dancers too fast. And this finale was way too short. A normal finally would’ve had all prior contestants in for individual dance numbers. I feel like I didn’t get a chance to really have fun.

I’m elated for Adam. it was really challenging since he really didn’t have time to focus on the show. But now he has his mirror ball trophy and finally he gets to take a vacation now.

IIRC, Josh did the paso doble in week 2.

ETA: Just realized, I'm pretty sure Adam is the first openly gay person to win DWTS!
And Jenna must have had the quickest improvement in results. Last place her first season as a pro, winner in her second season.

Didn't like the 4 week season, but I'm glad Adam and Mirai both got to be on and they might not have made it in a regular season that wasn't shortly after the Olympics and all athletes. On the plus side, I only had to see Tonya for 4 weeks.
