The Czech fed probably didnt want to qualify for the Team Event and finish dead last that's why they are strategically sending Ukolova and purporsefully ruining their chances.

While I hate French fed disdain over their own skaters Im also happy another nation will get a chance. Lord knows Pairs needs more global development.

Bonus: I can already salivate all the drama in the US Pairs thread when they find out FRA beat them to the 2nd pair spot and still give it away to an OES country.

So back in the hotel for some comments on the 1st day:
Most important:

Walked by the practice rink during ice resurface and Schott was skating her 'Nella Fantasia' SP. Ok, she was just doing the step sequence, but hell yeah, she is on.
@levineismine was not that impressed, wanted voidy Chicago back, but boss can tell. This absolutely suits her still, great lines. For gods sake let her land the jumps, the other german girls will stand no chance!

Random notes:

- on my way home I passed 3 chinese restaurants within 400m. I had no clue there is actually Oberstdorf chinatown
- still pissed that did not join the party. maybe he is an bavarian open exclusive
- @Hanna joined the gang and was extremly disappointed that I did not live up to her expectations (being already way drunk at 12am )
- @morqet and her friends (I'm so bad at names ) joined us for dinner
- this time no wine but beer accident; @levineismine is to blame here

Men:
- @Hanna and @morqet lost the patriotic cheering (which was not really existent ) to @levineismine cheering for Rizzo!
- Jorik!!! Nothing more to say! These first steps to start are made for a big entrance splat at least once this season So much drama. Might be too much. But still so entertaining!
- Babyrizzo looked like he'd be about to shit his pants any second, but he somehow suvrived! Hope he can hold on in the free and sends Righini finally back where he belongs to.
- Paniot: have to admit, I really enjoyed that; intense steps. I am #teampavlov, but I would not mind Paniot at olympics either.
- Estonian guy: no naurits, but the looks I appreciate
- Oddvoll the King: well, he can't seriously think that a layout of is BFF will bring him close to Korea as a competitior somehow

Dance:
- Kavita's look is all to me
- no big splats or drama today, but lots of teams are still in the running. this could be a drama end tomorrow. the much i like saulius i would dislike to see the lithuanians getting the spot and handing it over to a f-tier junior team which somehow might make the minimums

Pairs:
- Czechpuppy all the way! Bidar really grew on me. I wished he had a different partner, I would be all in. They were spot on in practice yesterday. Today was a totally different picture of them. They are still the 4th ranked pair in the race, so all is fine. But his face as the scores appeared and later as he watched the other competitors #softieboss
- Empress: well, this is not the type of SP I like, but there is till the FS with the MEEPOTS
- Windsor: I won't get his instagram-activity outta my mind
- GER#2: Heavily overscored in pcs. such a stepdown from DivaMari, such a stepdown. I liked that @levineismine described Hockes presentation as similar to dastich's , which was so spot on. I won't want to bitch that much, it's good for their first season, but of course I do not approve
- ISR: loved the pissed faces in the knc. awesome material. still ranked 5th in the race, with the french to drop their spot.
- same for pairs as for dance, I like the JAP team, but I do not want them to make it as otherwise a low level team will be send.
- LeDuc: I just do not watch her scusi. He is the new gay icon of some german chick who got him and cain making photos with the rainbow flag and she was waving it all over. I like the mood they both create in their programs! I wished they'd have a fair chance of making the team in the US, I think they don't.

One last mention for a woman who deserves it. There is some reall invested asian female who is fan of almost everybody.
She is very busy in getting things coordinated: checking the results, messaging on mobil, throwing presents on the ice, waving flags, cheering mid program, clapping like crazy...

She seriously has had almsot every flag and and cheered for almost everybody. My classy companion (@levineismine ) rightly stated: if you have not been cheered by her, you are done

Btw, it's a shame, that all russian junior chicks, who are pleasant to watch and who I really enjoy (Kitty, Stasia, Samodurova and Gubanova) won't make it even to a second jgp. But they know, the -door remains open!
