I am disappointed in this list. But I also realize we have so much content out there that some would be overlooked. The shows I loved this year...."Under The Banner of Heaven" "Station Eleven" "Julia" "Made for Love" were not nominated although Andrew Garfield received a nomination.

I agree these nominations are disappointing. There are so many interesting shows out there and so much great talent, yet just a handful of shows get all the nominations. So many good people left out. The Emmys really seem to be about press coverage/popularity more than anything else.

Agreed....I didn't get the love for "The White Lotus"....I thought it came off like "Dynasty" or some overblown soap opera. I thought it was one of HBOMAX weaker offerings. Meanwhile there are actors nailing down great performances (Wyatt Russell in Under The Banner of Heaven for example) who were ignored.

I kind of thought there'd be at least one acting nomination for Stranger Things - I'm surprised Sadie Sink didn't get one. Or Jamie Campbell-Bower. Though the show probably had too many people to submit for supporting actor, and Sadie and Millie were probably submitted against each other (though Millie just holds out her hand and screams most of the time, so not quite as impressive as Sadie's work this year)

I also would have nominated Phil Dunster over Nick Mohammed for Ted Lasso supporting actor this season, though I'm really happy that Toheeb Jimoh and Sarah Niles were recognized.

The nominations for reality host always kind of bug me. Like Padma Lakshmi is the most dull presenter I've ever seen. And RuPaul never looks at the person he's speaking to, it's always for the camera (especially noticeable in the finale of season 14 when he was 'interviewing' the finalists, but didn't even turn to them when he was asking them questions).

Though I haven't watched Abbott Elementary yet (it's on my list), it's nice to see an actual network TV show get the recognition

We enjoyed Abbott Elementary too. Nice to see a show about teachers, instead of cops, detectives, lawyers, etc.

I think Janelle James might be my pick in the Supporting Actress Comedy category. She made me laugh every time. :D Quinta Brunson was really good also.

Ok..I'm thinking off of the top of my head here....Station Eleven, The Expanse, Night Sky, Stranger Things, Made for Love not to mention the programming on Disney, Apple and the networks...You should have an Emmy Category for Science Fiction bests because it would be loaded with plenty of complaining because there would still be people left out.

I read on another board a suggestion that the Emmys should do kind of what the SAGs do, and have an ensemble category. Like look at the number of nominations for the casts of Severance, Succession, Ted Lasso, etc... and in the past shows like Game of Thrones, and Modern Family. They can have the individual awards, and the best series, but also have the ensemble recognized.

Big kudos to actors and actresses who got nominated for Guest appearances for appearing in just a single episode (eg. Harriet Sansom Harris as the former comedian/rival(?) of Deborah in "Hacks").

No nomination for Mandy Moore on TIU made me super sad. :( No matter how you feel about This Is Us overall, she was outstanding in this last season as she took us through the final stages of Rebecca's journey through Alzheimer's and I thought for sure she was the one actor from the show guaranteed to get a nomination. That snub broke my heart a lot if I'm being super honest. :fragile: :wuzrobbed

I’m scratching my head at the nominations for “Pam and Tommy” I didn’t make it past the first episode.
I didn't watch it, and I have mixed feelings about the nominations. I'm sure they performances were good, I appreciate that they were apparently sympathetic to Pamela's experience in the series, and Lily James' physical transformation (From the photos I saw) was fantastic, HOWEVER I do have issue with the show being nominated when it was made without their (especially Pamela's) consent, and IIRC she expressed feeling violated by the show, and how it's brought the tape back to people's attention and making her relive her trauma and exploitation.

At least for "Impeachment", Monica Lewinsky was involved with the production. Once consent was denied, the Pam and Tommy show should NOT have been made, let alone nominated.

I agree! I'm so mad she didn't get the recognition. She is so good that when I see her as her normal age and self it doesn't compute with my brain lol!

How can there only be two nominees in a category? Seriously, how much did Lorne pay for that?!

Sheryl Lee Ralph's speech was the most entertaining so far. She may have won for comedy, but she knows how to bring the drama.
I have to check it out. She has quite the reputation on Broadway.

ETA: I was looking up the winners and stuff, and somehow ended up on the Better Call Saul corner of Twitter....my those fans are angry. Like seriously angry. Like bashing other shows and winners angry.

SLR played Diana Ross Deena Jones in the original Broadway production of "Dreamgirls", among other roles, so yes...

Perhaps the BCS fans are on meth...
