Masters of the Air dropped the first two episodes on Apple and it is just as good as the other series and no easier to watch. I had a female WW2 vet as a client a long time ago. She told me her first boyfriend and his plane were shot down during the war and neither were ever found. Even at 101 she still missed him. Another vet told me he never drank but would lend out his ration card to his friends and told them that if he ever were to be killed don’t send his ration card back home because he didn‘t want his mother to think a drank while away. He still played Air Force type video games on his computer at 97.

P.S.
Sorry for going off topic.

Just finished the entire third season of Star Trek: Picard. As much as I loved The Next Generation, and rather enjoyed how Seven of Nine had matured from her Voyager days, it was hard for me to follow it's 'serial' format, where there are no stand-alone single story episodes, and every storyline goes into the next episode.

I also miss series which have stand alone episodes and you can dip in and out without needing to watch them all in sequence. It feels like this is a lost art. I don't mind a good story arc, just not all the time.

The same here. I'm also a fan of Next Generation, Deep Space Nine and Voyager. I'm so thankful that BBC America shows the episodes of Next Generation. I totally love Picard, Data, Worf, Dr. Crusher, Deanna Troi, Guinan and Tasha Yar. I was so young when the first episodes Star Trek was airing on TV. I loved watching Star Trek especially one episode, The Trouble with Tribbles.

This is the era of binge-watching. It was already a thing before COVID, but it really skyrocketed when people were stuck at home for long periods of time with nothing much to do. Now, it's become the norm.

"Feud: Capote vs. the Swans" starts tonight. I've been looking forward to that. I've had an interest in the period and the people since I read a couple of books about them, especially Melanie Benjamin's novel The Swans of Fifth Avenue. Bummed that it starts during skating. I can always watch it later on Hulu, though.

I loved the 3rd season of Picard. It was really an homage to the Next Gen cast and universe. I get what everyone means about serial episodes, but the season was only 10 episodes long and so it wasn’t that hard for me to keep track of the storylines. I loved the closing scenes with Picard and Q.

I am so excited for the new season of Abbott Elementary.

I just started S1 and it’s very fun. I am giving it a little side eye that I see a lot of similarities to the Jim and Pam romance from The Office, down to the looks at the camera.

Parks & Recreation did the same thing. I think it's just the nature of documentary style sitcoms.

I watched Mr. and Mrs. Smith on Prime, mostly because I really like Donald Glover and think he's super talented. I don't know how I feel about it.

In what way? I watched it after the explosion of Jen and Brad's marriage and that very much colored my experience but I do remember enjoying the movie.

I don't know if I liked it. It's way different from the movie, which I didn't care much about and don't really remember. They don't really have anything in common. It's really more of an exploration of a marriage within very specific circumstances (international spy setting).

I liked both leads. But I'm meh about the whole thing. But I've been sick at home for the past two days and I binged it.

I’ve enjoyed Strange New Worlds because it is more standalone in its episodes even though some things develop along the way.

I think the "Big Five" still put out that kind of show. Granted, there isn't much new content (many of the shows are on S10 and beyond) and the majority of them are police procedurals and/or part of a franchise but I think they're still there.

The "Big Five" has an interest in that kind of show. They want and need to attract viewers on a weekly basis. On the other hand, many streaming services release all episodes at once, so they want to have episodes with an arc to encourage binge watching.

Just watched the documentary “The Greatest Night in Pop” on Netflix. If you are nostalgic about music history, I highly recommend watching this. It’s amazing what happened when all these legends came together to record the “We Are The World” single. It’s also painfully obvious how much better the vocals were in popular music back then.

Also, the drama about all the work they did to try to get Prince to show up. 🤭

Thought it was fun too! Lionel recounting dealing with Jackson’s animals while writing the song was so funny! Also, Cindi and her necklaces, heh.
