Lots of reasons for duct tape, especially for men. The tape can be layered around the upper back part of the boot, similar to strapping a sprained ankle - in order to provide more support for a skater. It also helps keep the upper boot tight enough to support landings of quads. Duct tape is also used to get swollen ankles in and out of boots preemptively by taping beforehand. If it was for Champ after his skate he might use it to tape the boot ankles after he takes them off to help keep the leather tight, or on his own feet while ice soaking.
My girl looked real real good at SA and I'm not ashamed. Those jumps are massively improved and significantly higher and more powerful then I've ever seen her jump. I know a lot of it has to do with her improved lifestyle but doesn't her technique even look different on those edge jumps? That can't happen over one off season, right? It's night and day. If she can add another 3-3 with bonus with the 2A-3-2 it's a new ballgame.
I'll admit, Wet Tree Stump surprised and kinda impressed me. The pc of that Romeo and Juliet were tremendously improved. She still has major back flexibility flaws that I don't know can be helped.
Someone needs to break a broom in half and glue it to Sakamoto's neck and shoulders in a cross shape for a month. It's like honga (not nearly as unfortunate though)... I just don't understand how they got past the age of 10 with that skating posture. I like her more this year, and I know there are a lot of Saka fans in here but she's not much more then a top 5-10 world's skater.
