Re-posting from the Nebehorn Trophy Men's SP and FS threads in Kiss & Cry ... congratulations to Mexico's Donovan Carrillo -- his FS technical element score today was 66.33 and he now is eligible to compete in Milan! :)
Donovan Carrillo already got the Worlds SP minimum of 34 in his senior debut at the Philadelphia Summer International in early August 2017 (35.62). He still needs the FS minimum of 64 (58.13 at Philadelphia Summer International).
Donovan got the TES he needed for Worlds!! YEEESS!!!

First time a mexican skater qualifies by right achieving the Minimums TES

Yes, it does. As long as the even counts as an international on the ISU list, ie, no restrictions noted, the right number and credentials for officials, both programs competed, and the minimum number of competitors, ie, two from two different members, the scores count towards the TES minimums.

The skaters who earned Worlds minimums this past weekend are:

Denkova/Stavisky:

Men:
  • Kevin Aymoz: Earned both Worlds minimums.
  • Basar Oktar: Earned Worlds FS minimum. Still needs the Worlds SP minimum.
Ladies:
  • Michol Cristini: Earned Worlds FS minimum. She now has the set.
  • Lea Cerna: Earned Worlds FS minimum. She missed the Worlds SP minimum by .67.
  • ETA: Jenni Saarinen. Earned Worlds SP. Still needs Worlds FS minimum.

Cup of China:

And I didn't even realized until after the event that she didn't have the World minimums .

Are there any updates from the smaller comps running through the 29th? When is the cutoff for having the Euros/O standard?

Communication 2097 lists the deadlines for earning TES minimums in point 10:

The Council also decided that the Minimum Total Elements Score must be reached 21 (twentyone)
days before the first day (First official practice day) of the Championships concerned
(same as entry deadline) or by the entry deadline for the Olympic Winter Games

Communication 2119 states in section C),

 January 11, 2018: Entry by Name forms (see attached) must be sent by all NOCs/ISU Members which have been allocated an entry to the OWG, including those with remaining stand-by entries, and be received by the ISU Secretariat only, no later than January 11, 2018. In the case that not all NOCs/ISU Members use their full quota of entries and the available entries are reallocated to NOCs/ISU Members with remaining stand-by entries, the NOCs/ISU Members receiving these reallocated entries will be informed by the ISU Secretariat by January 20, 2018.

 January 29, 2018: PyeongChang 2018 Entry by Name must be submitted by all NOCs/ISU Members which have been allocated an entry to the OWG. These forms must be sent by NOCs and received by POCOG no later than January 29, 2018 according to their instructions and a copy also sent to the ISU Secretariat. After this date, in principle no entries can be transferred from one NOC/ISU Member to another NOC/ISU Member.

Since there are two entry deadlines, that can mean:

Scenario 1:
  • Thursday, December 21, 2017 for all athletes from members who have been allocated spots -- that should include Additional Quota Athletes -- or 21 days before Thursday, January 11
  • Monday, January 8, 2018 for all athletes from members who are allocated spots because the original "owners" have thrown them back in the pool by January 11, including any skaters/teams who don't yet know there is a spot between January 8 and January 11/January 29 (the real, we mean it now, entry deadline).
Scenario 2:
  • Thursday, December 21, 2017 is the deadline for all OWG skaters, and if they are allocated a spot off the alternates list through January 29, 2018, they will have to have had the minimums.
The events with Seniors through December 21 are:
  • Santa Claus Cup (Dec 6-9): Ladies, Men, Pairs, Dance
  • Golden Spin (Dec 6-9): Ladies, Men, Pairs, Dance
  • Bosporous Cup (Dec 12-16): Ladies, Men, Dance
Plus GPF, where all of the seniors have their minimums.

The next events through January 8 are:
  • EduSport (Jan 4-7): Ladies, Men, Pairs
  • FBMA Trophy (Jan 4-7): Ladies, Men

So there might be a precedence if Polina Edmunds wins Nationals (gives you automatically Olympic birth according to their rules) as unlikely as it is but lacks minimum so she can't be selected? What are her plans for future events now?

USFS' Worlds selection policy changed last season and winning Nationals no longer guarantees an automatic selection to Worlds.

ETA: USFS' 2014 Olympic team selection policy stated that winning 2014 Nationals did not guarantee an Olympic berth, IIRC.

I don't know if there is any policy to stop them from making a conditional appointment to Worlds, based on her earning the minimums between Nationals and Worlds

There's no precedent for it, as far as I know.

IMO, because she knows how to compete, she has a shot for 4C's, where she could earn the minimum. Other skaters with better tech content often don't bring it.

3 pairs got (ETA: or improved) their respective Worlds minimum scores at 2018 Challenge Cup in The Hague and can make their debut next month in Milan: Laura Barquero & Aritz Maestu (ESP), Ioulia Chtchetinina & Mikhall Akulov (SUI) and the new Hungarian team of Elizaveta Kashitsyna, age 16 (from Russia) & Mark Magyar (he split from Daria Beklemisheva/Darja Beklemiscseva, who had been granted Hungarian citizenship, sometime after 2017 Nebelhorn Trophy).

ETA: The Spanish pair got both their minimums at Euros while the Swiss pair got their SP minimum at Euros and their FS minimum at Challenge Cup.

ETA #2: Valtter Virtanen (FIN) needed the Worlds SP minimum and got it at Challenge Cup.

^ In the Finnish news thread it came up that Valtter Virtanen also got his TES min at Challenge Cup.
OMG ... can't believe Dr. V actually managed to get the Worlds TES minimum at the last possible competition (like he managed to do last year at the Bavarian Open). This guy has some competitive fire in him. Wish him all the best in Milan!
