I just looked at the competition schedule for SCC - my guess is that some of the skaters/teams will attempt to do both. Are Kazakhstan and Bulgaria waiting till the tech panels are named to decide which event is more likely to be favourable to skaters seeking minimums?![]()
Santa Claus Cup -
Mon 12/6 - Jr RD & Sr RD
Tue 12/7 - Jr FD, Sr FD & Women's SP
Wed 12/8 - Jr Women SP, Jr Men SP, Sr Women FS, Sr Men SP
Thu 12/9 - Jr Women FS, Jr Men FS, Sr Men FS
Golden Spin -
Thu 12/9 - Women SP, Men SP, Pairs SP
Fri 12/10 - Dance RD, Women FS, Pairs FS
Sat 12/11 - Dance FD, Men FS
Theoretically, the dancers could certainly do both. Aside from Nauryzova/Datiev, Harris/Chan are also listed to compete in both events while Andreeva/Desyatov are currently on the Wait List. I'm not sure either team will WD - IAM has Lafond-Fournier/Kam entered at SCC.
Possible for the Women - it's a 3.5 hr drive from Zagreb to Budapest, though Baycheva and Grigorova are currently on the Wait List for Santa Claus Cup, so my guess is they will wind up at Golden Spin. Dasa - she's always on the elusive hunt for her Worlds FS min, so I could see her doing both, lol, though she might decide to only do Golden Spin so that the 3rd woman currently on the Wait List (Beschea) can compete that week also.
Impossible for the Men, obviously and my guess is that Jirenbayev will wind up at Golden Spin as a way to make room for one of the two men currently on the Wait List for SCC (Martinez & Schumperli).
