does this not mean that the entire women's field has been exposed? They may not have a single woman to send to the Olympics at this rate...

You really are being triggered. People will have opinions. RelaxEvery thread here is turning into a huge discussion on ----- and hang wringing over -------. When there were no events, everyone was complaining how there was no skating. Now there are events, and people are complaining they should be cancelled. This has been going on in every thread, when Russia held nationals, now US and Canadian nationals, Olympics etc. They are athletes and for the most part will recover just fine. Last year, the Russian skaters and the coaches were catching and recovering from the more severe variant. Even Mishin survived *********, yet people still want to put skaters in a bubble. No one is making you or anyone attend nationals but for those who are, how long should anyone sit in a bubble? It's been almost 2 years and people can't even get a break after being vaccinated.
I mean most of them didn't have mins anyway. Surely they can scrape together a team of three who will manage to test negative in time to go?? Or maybe not.does this not mean that the entire women's field has been exposed? They may not have a single woman to send to the Olympics at this rate...
I wouldn’t panic yet. There is still time for them to have a negative test for the Olympics.does this not mean that the entire women's field has been exposed? They may not have a single woman to send to the Olympics at this rate...

heaven forbid we look out for others and not just ourselves!Every thread here is turning into a huge discussion on ----- and hang wringing over -------. Don't worry Cpom aren't Olympics eligible anyway they will carry 4CCs for the US
1) no - Alysa Liu skated with Glenn, Harrell, Venetta, and Levito on the practices; Glenn skated with Ikenishi, Venetta, Warne-Jacobsen, and Andrews this morning. Last night, Alysa shared a 6 min warm up with Izzo, Shin, Thorngren, Bell and Chen. Glenn shared a 6 min warm up with Andrews, Gold, Wang, and Levito. So, Jill Heiner hasn't been exposed, lol.
2) just because they were exposed doesn't mean they will get the crud or test positive - in addition, they have plenty of time to get over it if they do and, hopefully, test negative for Beijing. At this point, I'd be more concerned about being unable to field a full team for 4CCs while making sure the 3 Olympians as well as at least the 1st alternate remain safe.
I guess because obviously those people been hanging around with the spectator?Oh no! Isn't this not a sign? 4CC and ECs should be without spectators if held at all?
I think you should be sure to make sure you can create as much drama as possibledoes this not mean that the entire women's field has been exposed? They may not have a single woman to send to the Olympics at this rate...
And you know what, they may wind up catching it when they arrive in Beijing. It's not as if this hadn't originated in China.Until Nathen Chen, Yuzuru Hanyu and Papadakis/Cizeron get to Beijing...![]()

Should we just call off Nationals and let everyone (who wants one) petition for an Olympic spot?
It's still a national championships, and competing is still important to make the Olympic team.I don't see the point of Nationals when it seems like these (Olympic) spots were decided in advance anyway. Why risk it?
Is it?It's still a national championships, and competing is still important to make the Olympic team.
Yes, skaters who choose not to compete aren't going to make the Olympic team.Is it?
There's 0 case in Beijing and entry into Beijing from anywhere in China requires a negative test within 48 hours + phone-data-verified proof that one has not traveled to any county with 1 or more local cases in the 14 days up to entry date. PCR tests are limitless across hospitals major and small for local residents. All international arrivals are sent to quarantine hotels straight from the airport for a 3-week quarantine period regardless of test results.Anyway , we now have flo***

Bringing it back on topic, I hope Mariah doesn't test positive and let the thought of a title throw her off.
And Gabbie for finishing 4th!Congratulations to Mariah, Karen and Isabeau for finishing 1,2 & 3!

As for the Games, all athletes and coaches will enter the closed-loop bubble the second they clear border control after being tested upon arrival. If you mean they might catch the ***** on their flight here, I agree that's a much higher possibility.
I agree with that. The power of Glenn Close! Kidding aside, I think Thorngren has a lot to work on even to catch up to Izzo and although 2.5 sounds like a lot, in actuality, it was only like 0.20 more per component score which then gets multiplied by 1.6. Izzo was going to have a moment until she made her first out of two mistakes but Thorngren had a horrible skate throughout and was shaky.Izzo with a 2.5 advantage over Thorngren on components? Really?
