Brooke Gewalt, who made her Nationals debut in Columbus after Ava Ziegler withdrew, has a new FS to "A Piece of Sky" :) (final song sung by Barbra Streisand in Yentl) - from Rohene Ward's IG Live on March 22: https://www.instagram.com/reel/C4025K8rvre/

Rohene also had an IG Live last month featuring Hanna Harrell in Lakewood, CA as he was choreographing her new FS to Motley Crue's "Take Me to the Top" and "Home Sweet Home”: https://www.instagram.com/reel/C4jNxeXPlaG/

ETA:
Announced by Starr on March 23 (originally posted by @Karen-W in the U.S. Women's news thread):

Starr Andrews (USA)
SP: "Fur Elise" by Faouzia
Choreographer: Derrick Delmore (presumably)
It's inspired by Beethoven's Bagatelle in A minor for solo piano, better known as "Für Elise"
Starr recently shared this funny clip with Adam Rippon who may be choreographing her SP again: https://www.instagram.com/reel/C5ZsoTXprOC/

Alysa looked great in that short clip. Her artistry looks better than I remember. Looking mature and lovely. I was (am) an Alysa uber. Of course I’m very excited she is skating again and wish her the best in her comeback. I’m also an Isabeau uber and would be so exited to have them both making world and Olympic teams in the next couple of years. Alysa is a world bronze medalist and Isabeau a world silver medalist. U.S. women’s prospects are looking up. The more competition for spots the better!
The early frontrunner for the next thread title. Other suggestions are welcome.

And Wren now has confirmed that this song of Billie Eilish’s is her SP music for the new season (choreographed by Kate Charbonneau Shurts):
Turns out we all forgot that Lindsay Thorngren performed an exhibition program to Billie Eilish's "What Was I Made For?" at the 2023 Skate Canada International Gala! Here's a fan cam: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m2FxkCfnMSw

Wren Warne-Jacobsen (in ISP) also has announced her new FS music -- to Salome: Dance of the Seven Veils by Richard Strauss, choreographed by Caryn Kadavy: https://www.instagram.com/reel/C5193D8rfSP/

Re-posting these comments from Alysa’s thread to this pertinent one ;):
I’d give Isabeau high marks for her efforts at Worlds this year. She’s learning to skate under pressure. I’d say she and Alysa could be interesting rivals.
Still rooting for Sarah Everhardt, Ava Marie Ziegler and Amber next season. It’s not just Alysa and Isabeau. A few others in the mix, too.
The more the merrier! :D

Next year at Nationals could really be a fight among more then just the typical 3 or 4 skaters for the title. I see Alysa being a contender as well as Isabeau of course with Ava and Lindsay in the next group. Next are skaters moving up like Sarah Everhardt and Elyce Lin-Gracey and let's not forget Bradie if she can come back healthy again will still be a threat. Which leaves Amber who with more competition at home means she is going to have to start being more consistent or risk being left at home.

Jessica Jurka, who will turn 14 in June, posted a clip of her 3A today: https://www.instagram.com/reel/C6Hr2tzL1NZ/
Tom Z. is coaching her in Colorado Springs.

ETA - this was posted in the 2024 U.S. Nationals general thread in GSD on Feb. 1 (I had wondered why Jurka's jumps were not as stable as I expected to see in Columbus):
Jurka's skates split apart right before the competition. She skated at the Nationals with a 2-day old new boots. Poor girl couldn't land her jumps as she always does

Uh-Oh---isn't that what happened with Bradie Tennell when she was training 3a under Tom Z? And that's also when the foot injury started.

Excerpted from the current ISP list (post #860):
Annika Chao P-J2/J5
Alayna Coats P-N9
Jessica Jurka M-J2/J12
Cleo Park P-J3/J3
It's not my intention to "hype her up" but since Ice House (Hackensack, NJ) has shared a video of Skylar Lautowa-Peguero's Junior FS (scored 119.23) at the Morris Open club competition in NJ on April 6, I thought I should share the link here: https://www.instagram.com/reel/C5o9pffLPrX/ ("Inspiration" by Florian Christl)
Her FS protocol (7 triples landed) - ETA correct link: https://twitter.com/SylviaUnseen/status/1778607877361385474
She is coached by her mom, Julia Lautowa, and Nina Petrenko is her choreographer.
Her 2023-24 SP music is Christina Aguilera's "Learning to Fly" (here's a show version that was filmed by Jordan Cowan at Sky Rink in early December 2023).
ETA that I've since been informed that Skylar is 11 years old and will be 12 in December.
Now that the Kiss and Cry section temporarily is open to all, I plan to start 2024 U.S. Club & NQS competitions thread there in the near future (early next month?). In the meantime, Cleo Park, Annika Chao and Alayna Coats (these 3 are in the Women's current ISP) and Hannah Kim (P-N2/J11 at Nationals) competed in the Glacier Falls Spring Spectacular club competition last weekend (April 20-21) and I shared screenshots of the top 3 protocol sheets in my X post yesterday (SP and FS are separate events/scores are not combined) because these are good scores for so early in the season: https://twitter.com/SylviaUnseen/status/1783137285006934392
Junior SP top 3:
Cleo Park, Glacier Falls FSC 65.98 (her older sister Nicole is currently in France for the Nations Cup with LA Ice Theater's Junior team)
Annika Chao, Glacier Falls FSC 63.13 (competed SP only)
Hannah Kim, Glacier Falls FSC 63.06
Junior FS top 3:
Alayna Coats, All Year FSC 108.37 - I came across her FS video is on YT: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lQVgwUhUPZY (coached by Naomi Nari Nam)
Hannah Kim, Glacier Falls FSC 106.88
Cleo Park, Glacier Falls FSC 102.77

Coats won the Advanced Novice Women Group B event of the Pacific Rim Advanced Novice Open (USFS' invitational) last October in El Segundo, CA that was part of the inaugural Kings Cup International: https://ijs.usfigureskating.org/leaderboard/results/2023/33809/CAT004RS.htm

Alrighty then, I am already looking forward to this coming season! Shall we count down the months?

Sonja Hilmer’s FS music and costume reveal: https://www.instagram.com/p/C6Mj3gDxdLj/

New things for the new season ✨

So excited to share the complete package for my new free program! As usual, this program is self choreographed and the dress self made. My music is a 70s/disco medley inspired by the tracklist from @argyllemovie

"You're The First, My Last, My Everything" by Barry White >> "Now and Then" by The Beatles >> "Electric Energy" by Ariana DeBose, Boy George, and Nile Rodgers (with transitions from the OST 😁)

Work in progress reel for making the dress will be out soon!

Sonja was one of the many figure skaters who participated in the Argylle movie (Ben Agosto & Katherine Hill choreographed the skating set piece near the end of the film). ETA that @Wyliefan linked to Agosto's and Alexe Gilles' Instagram posts back in February in the now closed 2023-24 Dance Hall thread: https://www.fsuniverse.net/forum/th...n-on-up-2023-2024.110662/page-35#post-6553221
