Would love it if you could also post this in the 2030, 2034 Olympic thread. I don't think I know how to repost - at least not easily.Fifteen-year-old figure skater Kate Pressgrove has arrived in Paris as part of the official delegation for Salt Lake City's bid for 2034 Olympics. The other two athletes representing local youth legacy programs are Emma De Bock, a figure skater who made a successful switch to speed skating in 2023; and luger Orson Colby.
(On July 24, a small team from the SLC delegation will make a final presentation before the IOC's definitive vote and announcement of the host city.)
SLC-UT 2034's announcement of the delegation two weeks ago included Q&A with Kate and the other two youth athletes, beginning at approx. 41:55.

Do we have the junior list?it's already started for junior skaters...
Not for Cranberry as far as I can tell.Do we have the junior list?
If only they had skated better at the Junior Cup...Ohhhhhh cleo and Mia should definitely be getting some junior Grand-prix assignments, good scores
Cleo Park did skate well at Junior Cup-she was 4th!If only they had skated better at the Junior Cup...
Yes, but we only have 7 spots on the JGP, so she may or may not get a JGP assignment.Cleo Park did skate well at Junior Cup-she was 4th!

Sherry Zhang apparently has a minor injury, so you'd have to think 1 spot is probably going to her.Shouldn't 7 mean one spot for each of the top 4 and then hold later spots for whoever medals? Or are there skaters involved who weren't at the junior cup?

Who is her coach?Wow Elyce with over 70 points in her short program, I may need to rethink my medalists for the cranberry international
She wasn't at Junior Cup and is entered for senior at Cranberry Cup, so I think it's pretty safe to say she is skating senior this season. Same with Sarah Everhardt. Is Elyce skating as a Junior or Senior this season?
If she was skating junior internationally then she would have been at Jr Team Cup a couple weeks ago.I'd assume Senior domestically and Junior internationally.
The US has a lot of very good Senior ladies right now: Amber, Isabeau, Starr, Lindsay, Ava, and 3-4 of the other top juniors. Especially with Alysa's comeback I don't see why you would want to compete for international spots at the Senior level. Meanwhile she's easily top 5 in Juniors right now. She'll get assignments there.
Starr is not on the level of some of those other girls and if Elyce skates like she in the SP she can beat her too and her upside is much greater while Starr is maxed out. Speaking of which Logan Higase-Chen better be getting one of the 1st JGP's coming up.If she was skating junior internationally then she would have been at Jr Team Cup a couple weeks ago.
There is no benefit to skating junior internationally instead of senior internationally and, potentially, beating some of those inconsistent women you mentioned.
