If you recall Petrokina completely vanishing for a year a few seasons ago, here's the more detailed explanation as to why. Amazing that she was able to keep at it after that.

Niina mentioned in this article that she'd be at Shanghai Trophy, which is now confirmed by Shanghai media.

They had a very bad crash in practice (he says neither team was to blame - they were doing their twizzles and the other team was skating backwards). The end result though is that Angelina has two broken bones and needs surgery on her leg, so they are out of the JGP this season.

Seven Figure Skaters Named To [Ireland's] 2023/2024 National Team (September 4, 2023):

Seven Figure Skaters Named To 2023/2024 National Team – Ice Skating Ireland

Carolane Soucisse and Shane Firus are first time National Team members. They won the first Senior Ice Dance event ever held at the Irish Figure Skating Championships back in June. They are coached by Carol Lane, Jon Lane, Juris Razgulajevs and Marc Andre Servant in Toronto, Canada.
“It’s an immense privilege for Shane and I to be able to represent Ireland on the international stage,” Soucisse said. “We cannot wait for the season to begin!”
“I’m super excited to be selected for the national team this season, and to have the opportunity to represent Ireland on the world stage,” Firus added.

ISU Junior Grand Prix Istanbul
We are incredibly proud and grateful for what we have achieved this weekend. Being the first ever Swiss ice dance couple to score a medal at a Junior Grand Prix, we can proudly say we played a little part in the history of @swissiceskating . Achieving this great success and making our coaches proud was truly special.
Thank you @cornelialeroy and @alisabesseghier for successfully preparing us for this event.
We are beyond excited to find out what else this season has to offer.

I officially announce that now I am a student of Montclair State University It’s been 3 weeks of being in America, living independently on campus and training with a new team. All this is not easy, but I’m slowly getting used to all the new changes and I really like it

ANGELINA AND ILIA
Unfortunately due to the accident last week in the Grand Prix in Linz Austria, @angelina_k21 resulted in breaking two bones in her leg and so herself and Ilia had to sadly withdraw from the Grand Prix competition. Like everyone else I was also looking forward to watching them compete.
On a good note Angelina is recovering which is amazing to hear and the team hope to be back competing later on in the season
We have filmed this section of their Rhythm Dance and will soon release sections of their free dance, let’s all wish her well! And can’t wait to see Angelina and Ilia back on the ice soon!

It'll be Smart/Dieck, IMO. Spanish fed has invested too much money in them to not give it to them. Same with Worlds.
