LOL - let's wait until the end of this week to start any Euros polls. Who knows how many more withdrawals there will be.
Yikes, don´t say that. I had a feeling about more WD. I hope this is it and no more. First Olga and now Loena :( This is typically the week we will hear about WD, most who have been unsure must make a decision this week before they leave for Tallinn. How is Hovine doing? She wasn´t doing Nationals either and had a back injury earlier this fall. I guess it´s a good sign that the Fed only announced Loena WD, probably it means Hovine will go.

Edit: Seems like I have been mixing up Hovine with another skater with back injury. She WD from Golden Spin because of illness and not back injury.

And Loena's out for the season. :wuzrobbed

It was already clear that she would not be able to defend her title at the European Figure Skating Championships. Now Loena Hendrickx must draw a line through the entire season.

"My ankle is done," she says. "It limits me so much in my dismount, which means I can't do the most difficult jumps to perform at the top level."
...
Hendrickx will undergo surgery in mid-February. The World Figure Skating Championships will also come too early, so she will have to count on the performances of the other Belgians to force a spot at the Winter Games.

"The focus now is on a quick rehabilitation to be ready in time. There is no point in continuing until the World Cup, an operation is the only right solution."

Oh wow, Nina should have a really good chance of securing two spots for next year. So sorry for Loena 🙏

Good interview with Ireland's Sophia Tkacheva, now going by Sophia Tkacheva Tracey, who's now training in Italy and enjoying having so much more ice time.

Sophia Tkacheva Tracey now has a GoFundMe up to help pay for her training in Italy. Here's the link!

The page reads in part:

"As you have probably guessed, there is a severe lack of training facilities for my sport, not only in Gorey or Wexford, but in Ireland as a whole. Not a single permanent ice rink has been in place in the country since the Dundalk Ice Rink closed during the recession, so consequently, opportunities for training have always been very limited for me. I have lived in a small estate in Gorey for the majority of my life, yet I train 3 hours away by car and 5 hours by public transport at a recreational ice rink in Belfast. These circumstances are far from ideal; up to this point I could only train once a week on Sundays, when the rink is packed with little kids is blue, plastic skates and the environment is unsuitable for athletes ambitious to reach expert levels, such as myself. Hence, you can imagine my excitement when I received an offer for a placement in a Centre of Excellence for Figure Skating in Bergamo, Italy.
The Icelab is a centre designed specifically for the development of athletes to professional levels. It trains European and World champions and would be a dream come true to take part in and represent my country at the highest level. This is an incredible opportunity that I am tremendously grateful for, but one that I, unfortunately, cannot financially afford. Therefore, I ask for your contribution in assisting me in achieving my goals.

"The monthly cost for training in the Icelab is 1,200 euro. This includes ice time, off-ice, gym and choreo training with elite, world renowned coaches. Your assistance would be massively appreciated!"

Has Austria named their pair team for worlds? I wonder if their two teams are still competing for the spot and that’s why Izzo/Maier are doing two competitions in one week.

Britschgi had an on ice accident which required five stitches.
The wound got infected and he needed a small operation.
He is out of ice of for the next two weeks.
He should make it to Worlds if the injury heals without further problems.

Do we know if PinPog are injured, or if it’s just a decision to split the assignments after Larson/Kapran’s good autumn season?

Hopefully Spain will release her as she sits out a year of international competition, unless there's another Spanish male in the wings.

There's a new Belgian junior ice dance team - Maite Van Mulders & Robbie De Vos -

Looks like they're training in Dordrecht, Netherlands, alongside the Dutch senior team of Verhaegh/Van Geffen.

They are set to make their debut at the Maria Olzsewska Memorial competition in Poland this week.

Looks like Belgium may be able to use at least 4 of the 6 JGP spots that Beznosikova/Leleu earned for next season!

The apartment Kyryl Bielobrov and Marko Jevgeni Gaidajenko were sharing recently burned down. They have a GFM to help them rebuild. This is the second time within the past 3 years that Kyryl has lost everything :(

Nargiz Süleymanova has switched countries from Germany to Azerbaijan and her ISU bio (music not yet updated for this season) says she has relocated to Canada for training: https://www.isuresults.com/bios/isufs00107945.htm
Her name is on the CS Warsaw Cup entries list for AZE.
She really is Azerbaijani (by ancestry as well as citizenship).
