US Ice Dance 2024-25 News & Updates

Hmm interesting. I believe Blake is Jewish so he might have some relation to Israel. They could definitely have more success there than the stacked American field
The thing is, I think they would have gotten at least 1 if not 2 JGP assignments this year. The junior field has thinned out a bit in the US and their scores were, generally, right in line with the teams who are still on the JGP (apart from AboVes and IlinCain, who are ahead of the pack).

Unless they make some rapid improvements in the next few years, I'm not sure I see them challenging Tkachenko/Kiliakov as the top Israeli team in the long term - looking out toward 2030 & 2034.

Some clips from the shows at Newington Arena on June 28 have been posted on IG:

Hana Maria Aboian and Daniil Veselukhin RD

Aneta Vaclavikova and William Lissauer FD

Maybe not, but i could see them challenging T/K over the next quad, as long as they keep progressing. They looked good at Chesapeake for a new team debut.
Nosovitskiy has a lot more experience than Ichilov's last partner, who didn't have a background in competitive ice dance. This team should have the pieces, with a lot more training time together, to make a competitive team for Israel.

But every time I think that about her, she changes partners so I'm refraining from having expectations beyond the Olympic season at this point. Here's wishing them both positive let's-get-along vibes.

Skating summer issue has a small article about Avonley Nguyen, who lives in NYC and is on the AAC (Athletes Advisory Committee) for USFS. Is she working in the field of medicine in NYC?

Does anyone know the exact schedule for LPIDI? I’m trying to plan time spent there vs time at friend’s 45 minutes away and which nights at hotel. I know the Senior RD and FD are Wednesday and Thursday but not the times.

I just checked EMS but it's not posted yet. It's possible it was sent individually to competitors and coaches but I will check again next week.

New season incoming and hopefully we'll see LPIDI entries sooner rather than later, so does anyone have any suggestions for a thread title?

Mm How about Dancing to the St Louis Blues? Since a couple of our excellent dance teams won't get to go to the Olympics?

Are Ilin/Cain hurt? They're not in the entries for Lake Placid and they weren't at Dallas Classic.
Where are the LPIDI entries?

And I've been wondering the same thing. I asked someone about it but they haven't gotten back to me with any info.

I somehow missed the fact that Isabella Flores has a new partner and is apparently skating for France? Given how her previous partnership ended (and the personal entanglements there), I'm honestly a bit surprised she was able to find a new partner.
the rumor mill is saying they are going to skate for the US but he doesn't have his release yet

I wonder if he even has citizenship, or will we get to witness yet another marriage that, of course, has nothing to do with citizenship needs

I've seen plenty of rumors to the contrary - that she actually doesn't want to skate for the USFS again.

Well, here she goes again, I guess. In the end it doesn't matter if it's France or the US. France has behind the US the 2nd strongest field in ice dance. Considering the junior teams going Senior in the next quad plus FB/C potentially staying until 2030 plus all the other Senior teams, this is not an easier path for her to qualify for a Worlds or Olympic team.

Any other suggestions before we go with the above thread title now that we're fully into the new season with the LPIDI entries out today?

Addendum to the discussion of USFS "National Team" designation that took place in this thread several weeks ago:

"National Team" has become the label for a tab on USFS Fan Zone site.
Replacing the old label of "Roster," IIRC.

Within the new "National Team" label are the familiar roster pages.
Similarly to last season, the page for "2025-26 Figure Skating Roster" says, "The 2025-26 Fan Zone roster includes athletes in the A, B and C team envelope, as well as athletes ... competing in a Junior Grand Prix, Grand Prix, Challenger Series event or World Championships." (The 2025-26 listings have some catching up to do for the new season's assignments.)

On the leaveyourmark2026.com page, the "National Team" has not been changed -- it remains there as the original six women, six men, five pairs, and six dance teams. I am left confused as to whether or not "National Team" really did/does have some kind of special and lasting distinction for that much smaller group. (As noted earlier in the thread, some of them did not attend the Leave Your Mark weekend/camp in Colorado Springs.)

“Spice Girls and Backstreet Boys.”

Because, I suspect those two will dominate the season :)

Leah Neset/Artem Markelov (USA)
RD: Be My Lover by La Bouche / Say My Name by Destiny's Child / Everybody by Backstreet Boys / Spice Up Your Life by Spice Girls
Well, that settles it! We have our thread title!
