German Skating News - Part 3

Yes it's such a relief. :notworthy: Could've been worse. This will keep them from having to think about the GPF and focus on Euros instead, unless they're still crazy by that time. Their PCS are great and Euros is where it's at for the healthy

Nicole Schott and Nathalie Weinzierl on the podium so far after the SP in Warsaw. Both seem strong...already in their last events.
In my opinion Schott is the best packaged german skater but good for Weinzierl to pull of a 3Lz+3T combo...
First german lady to ever jump that combination?
I just wish we could see some technical improvement from Schott... She could be in the very front at Euros with her programs.

so funny, i thought about the same as she already seems to have the same jump layout at junior circuit 3-4years ago besides the flip, which isn't anywhere close to consistent now either.
but no blaming today, she sold the shit outt this great great program! so good! i hope she stays on her feet in the free, this could be some major step towards euros!
good girl, slay nicole!
#teamschott

and c'mon, when was the last time a german girl was leading after the short at a bigger competition? not to speak of two in the front!
good job girls!:respec:

Standings in the ladies euros race;
Bock will skate next week in Estonia.

315,92 Nicole Schott (CS POL 165,92; CS FIN; 150,00)
304,22 Nathalie Weinzierl (CS POL 155,99; CS SVK 148,23)
278,70 Lutrica Bock (CS ITA 149,08; CS GER 129,62)

Yippee yeehaw this will be interesing :sheep:

Urban/Steffan finally debuted at Ice Star Minsk:
they came in 9th with 131,82pts.
points ar not bad, but we know how ice minsk is usually scored :P

Well, Treitz is from Mannheim, and Nicole got some home country bonus from the Polish judge, so this evens out, i guess...

home country bonus? nicole is born in essen. she is a german chick despite where her roots might come from

and the lil' difference for me: treitz is vice-president of the german fed and amongst those who decide about who is sent. i know it's a subjective sport and maybe the drama is the reason that we love it; but giving such calls like the 2f/3f thing is really worrisome imho. message is sent.
but it's german fed, why am i not surprised?

and as i mentioned already: i would love to see combined nationals; maybe with france or even austria. a mixed group of international judges would be the fairest thing for nationals imho. getting international tes specialists is a good move already.

it's getting a bit worrisome for lorenz/polizoakis;
müller/dieck sit in 2nd at andorra with 62pts after the short dance.

leading are smart/diaz, 3rd mansour/ceska; both couples did score good at internationals this season, so nrw and nice might not be a fluke or dubious judging.

can't wait for the zagreb drama to come :watch:

Still no official results updated, but m/d won silver in andorra with pb of 156pts. :respec:

can't wait for the zagreb-drama to come :watch:

The ID scores at Tallin Trophy are insane. GOEs maxed out. Everybody just getting 10 points more than usually. Probably L/P should have gone there instead to Golden Spin?
Speculation.
I like the head-to-head-situation; makes it way more fair!

in the end, weinzierl skated vs. schott in 4 of 5 competitions (which may count towards the race); that is a fair result afterwards.

Article (well, with a bit promotion) in Freie Presse Chemnitz about Ice show in December with (amongst others) Dytrt and Bonnheur - doing Adagio, which was difficult for her in the beginning, now she feels comfortable -, Aliona and Bruno, Bock, Joubert, Buttle ...

I didn't know that Robin had asked Annette to skate pairs with him (back in 2002)

And somehow I missed Dytrt and this Adagio thing. It's news to me.

bock almost tied with herceg (50pts) both in tallinn sp;
bock splatted the lutz, herceg stepped outta her loop.
almost same pcs too.

:watch:

still don't get why herceg is not doing nrw; her case for making the euros team seems not totally hopeless.

It's safe to say that Ice Dance at German nationals is going to be the most intense competition this season...
Can't wait for the drama!!

i am not sure.
the only safe thing is pairs, with 3 pairs, 3 spots, obvious #1, #2, #3.

the ladies could get epic too, depends on bock.

and the guys, everything is possible here.

but i admit, ice dance might turn out into the most dramatic one.

Bock somehow brought her back into the game with her challenger in tallinn. @sus2850 might not be amused 'bout that :P
315,92 Nicole Schott (CS POL 165,92; CS FIN; 150,00)
304,22 Nathalie Weinzierl (CS POL 155,99; CS SVK 148,23)
302,27 Lutricia Bock (CS LAT 153,19; CS ITA 149,08)
131,65 Maria-Katharina Herceg (CS LAT 131,65)

she is only 2points behind weinzierl; lot will depend on how weinzierl will skate at nrw.
nici seems pretty safe right now. but i don't want to jinx it. another big score at nrw should give her the euros ticket.

Just checked the Entries for Golden Spin in Zagreb. It's going to be a amazing competition with Adam Rippon, Ashley Wagner, Carolina Kostner and many more exciting skaters.

German Ice Dance drama: Muller/Dieck is not listed anymore! Koch/Nuchtern are skating instead. L/P and U/S are still listed.
Wondering why M/D pulled out. On the one hand it makes sence to not skate the week before nationals against L/P but on the other side they could score again towards the euros/worlds race. Good for L/P. Kick butt and get those points!!

Buttle will appear at Stars on Ice Lake Placid at the end of December. I think they may have included his name by a mistake.

Spotlight production has three or four shows in December:
