German Skating News - Part 3

On a different note: Is Joti still with Johnny's ex-husband? I can't find him on Joti's recent instagram pics and also Victor's profile seems to have been reset with only one pretty recent picture.

I have no idea! Maybe they're keeping their relationship secret now... Voronov seems very private since he deleted nearly everything.
Does anyone know anything?

For those who can't read the documents, Victor was kicked out of his parents' house, they changed the locks and Victor responded by suing his mother for $15,000.

I know this doesn't answer the question of whether or not Joti and Victor are still together but I imagine Joti should be focusing on his skating and not his loser boyfriend.

btw what's with niko ulanovsky;
he is a no-show all season.

german men entries for nationals might reach a new bottom :barrel

according to a summary on the germans fed homepage of nrw-trophy we can still hope for three more actual existing ice dance couples.
it was mentioned that koch/nüchtern, jones/stephan, urban/steffen missed nrw-trophy due to illness or injury.
so fingers crossed that the last 2 will finally show up too.

I hear he has retired.
I am wondering whats with Catalin Dimitrescu. His name was removed from the National Team list in the same update as Nikos

@sandra_persch do you have any clue who is leading the ladies race for junior worlds?

for all 3 the highest score is from the JGP. 2nd piece will come from NRW or Junior Nationals. Though Hocke and Dastich will probably try to get more in the next 2 comps they are entered into.

1. Bock 145,55
2. Dastich 144,98
3. Hocke 141,17

but he was among the jgp entries, hm?

his instagram shows him doing 3a at september. so when were they removed?

dimitrescu was the only hopeful among the juniors for me :shuffle:

Maybe he was left off by mistake or will take more time to recover. I hope he will be back!

If it is ruptured, that would definitely mean no grand prix. And Europeans and worlds too.

If it is not ruptured, she still needs to heal, and GPF is in one month. I think in one month she could heal (if it isn't ruptured), but I don't think she would be immediately in great form, after not skating for a month. So it may be sensible to withdraw anyway and concentrate on Europeans and worlds, rather than getting an extra medal at GPF. (Plus, rushing back after injury, the medal at GPF would not be guaranteed anyway, if the Canadians and two chinese pairs turned up in good shape).

.
if its ruptured, i think worlds a pretty much safe, even europeans. but we will see.
such a shame.
but i am not surprised :(

Safe? Europeans are at the end of January. We are in the middle of November. I can't see how she would jump in two months time if it is ruptured. Wouldn't that be the same surgery as Kavaguti had this summer? Surely it takes much longer than 10 weeks to heal ruptured ligament. Worlds maybe, but I am not sure if they would want to come from injury and risk those super hard elements (3A and quad throws), and with just triple throws I don't think they have much chance of placing in top three. They haven't been particularly consistent, and if you take away all those hard elements, there won't be enough points. They would have to skate clena, and I don't think they can skate clean program. Well, we will see. I hope they will be there because it would be nice to see them again live, but the next season is more important than this one and they don't want to cause her too much damage.

kavaguti ruptured her achilles tendon iirc; that is totally different to a ligament rupture.
i ruptured mine and did long jump 5 weeks later. if it's healthy might be a different story.

The Queen must heal. :bloc: This could be a blessing in disguise long term for the Olympics. It's also a reality check on the crazy ambition. The quad at the end is an abomination.

Even if she's in a bodycast you know they'll at least be practicing their lifts and a level 4 triple/quad twist. :COP: She made it through til the end of the program so I'm hopeful it's not as devestating as people are reacting. :fragile: missing the GPF isn't squat really. They can take their gold medals from the GP series and run, run to the World Championships. :gallopin1

It looks like the crazy TES Oly race produces injuries after injuries. Hopefully all pairs learn to put the higher risks into their equations, particularly Aliona. IMO She and Bruno should focus on clean WOW elements, innovative programs with crazy transitions. Hopefully their coaches can put some sense into them.

Daniel Weiss said on Saturday while commenting the FS, that Alexander König told him, Aliona an Bruno didn't tell their coaches, that they wanted to do quad in FS on CoR, they just did.

I agree - I don't think they need the quad throws. The quad twist they could do with space to spare, if they want to go for a wow element it should be that.

Note: I read it wrong. The ligament is ruptured.
Seems to be unsure if it's completely ruptured or 'only' part-ruptured.

:(:(:( oh Aljona, we know how though you are. Still do heal yourself before getting back on the ice
