I had forgotten how amazing that was. Did they miss an SBS jump (I missed those)? Because if not, I'm not sure how they didn't go into the lead.

Well, combined SP & FS, Pang/Tong should have won this event! I already would have put them 1st after the SP.
Now I said it!

I am also not convinced that S/Z should have won. I would put S/Z ahead in SP. But that large error in the FS probably should have sealed their fate when Pang/Tong were so on.

In 2010 I would have vehemently disagreed with that, right now I'm not so certain that I disagree.

But the story of Shen/Zhao coming back and winning is still one of my favorite skating stories.

The 2009 Mendelssohn SP was a real stunner!

But of course the downfall this season started with the shit 'sing sing sing' program by Zoueva they started the season with ?

And frankly, China was probably putting everything behind S/Z as well. No one was lobbying for P/T.

No one was lobbying for P/T.

That was always the problem. It was supposed to the Zhangs that were China's top team, and the federation never put the effort behind Pang/Tong despite the fact that they are the team that won two World titles.

I was okay with that. To me, they were the weakest Chinese team by a large margin when it comes to PCS.
