The thing is, the program itself is actually gorgeous. Lovely choreography and really nice transitions. But for me the packaging detracts from that somewhat.

S/S should have never, N E V E R, dumped the 'You'll never walk alone' FS!
This would have been the triumph march to gold! :drama:

Well, he had one from 2006 already ?‍♂️

Yes, but until the return of Shen/Zhao, they would have likely been China's number one team heading into Vancouver, with the political clout solidly behind them. In that situation, I could see the lack of a medal here as unfinished business for Hao Zhang.

Savchenko/Szolkowy

great throw
out of sync side by sides, tsk tsk
nice integration of the elements into the program

I liked Savchenko more with this partner than Massot :shuffle:

I would really like to have seen S/Z and S/S's programs closer together (like same warm-up group). So much time has passed between the two programs that it's hard to compare.

Does anyone not? :shuffle:
I know everyone is happy for her gold and the big elements, but...

I thought both programs with Massot in the Olympic season were just as good as anything she did with Szolkowy. :shuffle:

This.

This program is like that one guy at every party who's trying to show how sophisticated he is but only reveals that he doesn't know anything about the thing he's talking about.

Have you seen the indie movie The Daytrippers, because there is a hilarious scene just like that. It is absolutely brutal. Great 90s movie with Parker Posey and Liev Schrieber and a bunch of other fantastic actors, although it does have a sort of questionable twist that feels a little dated now. Worth watching though!

I'm not on the P/T train like most of you. They're so gangly and sloppy (and she had weird posture/carriage) to the point where the Zhangs had much better lines than they did and the Zhangs literally put me to sleep at 2005 Worlds. They should have been second in the SP and first in the LP no question, but I think S/Z's gold was more than fair considering that their lift in the LP was counted despite some deserved negative GOEs.
