Ha, Turkkila! This was a great skate, I remember very well! Well as good as you can have with only 3t and 3s.

I remember ditching some LSU student happening to watch this competition.

I cannot recall her either!

I think that was her original coach of many years.

I’ve never been a huge Leonova fan (sorry @alchemy void) but that was a great program. Also, seeing her skate after the last two, it was really impressive how fast she was.

I think it's her best LP, out of a dozen different options. And I had the same thought about the speed, but I'm not sure if that's because the bar was so low by the first two skaters.

Back then watching all the Euro ladies SPs truly was a testament to skating fandom and resilience. I was ensconced on my coach.
