I wonder if it's too late to add Will Smith's career to In Memorium?I swear it gets worse every year.
Yeah unlike last year where things were a little more chaotic…like how SAG went 0/4 last year. I’m starting to think we need more precursors to off-set the guilds now. And we may need the golden globes so all the crazy shenanigans can happen there like dress rehearsal.Another year with effectively no surprises as far as the winners go in any of the categories. Once SAG results were in, that pretty much wrapped up the acting gigs, and Writer's and Director's Guild were pretty accurate too.
NOI do enjoy a good Hollywood weenie roast: Please next year have Ricky Gervais host. Please, please, please...
It did look like he laughed, but maybe he was still laughing at the last joke or it was "uh ha huh" awkward laugh until he realized what Chris just said. Here's a clip:
ETA: The weird thing is that it looks like Will initially laughed at the joke. (Jada did not.)
I remember Lusia (pronounced Lucy, apparently) Harris during her dominance at Delta State. What a wonderful tribute to her that the makers and producers of this film (including Shaquille O'Neal and Steph Curry) have given to all of us - sadly not during her lifetime.Happy that Halifax director Ben Proudfoot won for Queen of Basketball not just because he is from Nova Scotia but because it is a great film.

We saw Belfast. Good not great. I left Power of Dog halfway through, DH saw Nightmare Alley and thought it strange, not great. CODA seemed to me to be Oscar bait from the get-go.So many movies I have not seen, will start tonight with Belfast and later try and track down coda.
Does it stay mainly in the plain?I woke up this morning, and it kind of feels good to be under the reign of Ms. Jessica Chastain.
Uh-oh once---what does that say about me? I have to be honest here: I've always liked Ricky. There is roasting and there is down right mean/vindictive. Gervais has ALWAYS been the later.
She was fabulous in Crimson Peak.I woke up this morning, and it kind of feels good to be under the reign of Ms. Jessica Chastain.
I watched Power of the Dog but found it very sad/depressing.We saw Belfast. Good not great. I left Power of Dog halfway through, DH saw Nightmare Alley and thought it strange, not great. CODA seemed to me to be Oscar bait from the get-
Spielberg’s WSS is a film worthy of Best Picture. Encantro is enchanting. Spider-Man was a terrific superhero movie. That’s it for me last year.
(We STILL haven’t seen Dune and hope it comes back to theaters now.)
That truly was one of the worst Oscar shows, at least since James Franco.
It may give more context, but it still doesn't excuse what he did. Complete overreaction. And his "apology" was pretty lame also. This article gives more context to Will Smith’s reactions:
âTo hide the cowardâ: how Will Smithâs personal history may explain his Oscars violence
The actor, who hit Chris Rock at the Oscars for joking about his wife, has written publicly about his need to compensate for a childhood marred by domestic violencewww.theguardian.com
As is this joke: Smith is going to market his own Men's Cologne. You slap it on!It may give more context, but it still doesn't excuse what he did. Complete overreaction. And his "apology" was pretty lame also.
