Fox Sports Ohio - they are reshowing the 1975 World Series. Spolier - The Reds won. I set the DVR for Friday. I can sit on my couch right where my dad's recliner was back then. It says Don Gullett is pitching. I had a Don Gullett t-shirt back then. And found out in school later that a girl in choir was his cousin. I never told her I had a giant crush. :)

I never realized just how important the studio audience is for talk shows until I've started watching my talk shows that are having the hosts 'at home' and doing everything via video chats. Getting thru some of them is excruciating!

The subtle cues that we pick up from each in conversation, whether on a daily basis, or in a television broadcast, are so important to the flow of conversation, and it does make for really awkward television conversations.

New episodes of shows on regular t.v. are going to start disappearing. Thursday is the Grey's shortened season finale. They would have gone into May some time.

I was looking through the cast of Good Girls and found out that Mae Whitman (the younger sister) played the following parts:

  1. the president's daughter in Independence Day
  2. the Brown Bird that got her leg broken by Ross on Friends so he was selling her cookies for her
  3. Sandra Bullock's daughter in Hope Floats.
That scene of her screaming "Daddy, come back!" just kills me every time.
It cracks me up because I wouldn't have placed her as being part of Good Girls if I watched any of these today.

She was Lauren Graham's daughter on the t.v. series Parenthood too. I just always notice it is her in things because she is so very short compared to other people. And Lauren Graham was like 5'9" or something.

I'm starting to get annoyed with Manifest. I think this is one of those shows that would benefit from something like British TV schedules of 6 episodes per season. There is too much drama going on for nothing to actually happen. They need to tell us how and why they survived already.

I'm done with this show. I hung in through S2 hoping it would get better, and while there were some episodes that held my interest, most of them barely held my attention. I was sticking around mostly because I wanted Ben and Saanvi to become a thing, but it doesn't look like that's ever going to happen.

Regarding Manifest (I'll spoiler tag in case anyone didn't watch the season finale yet) ……
I totally didn't get the ending at all. How is Zeke not dead?

I don't really know but I suspect

that it's somehow related to returning to the place of his original disappearance because they made a big deal about finding the crashed plane parts at the very end. Also everyone keeps having visions of the plane crashing.

I just want to know what happened and why in the original plane storyline so I may just ask people to post when relevant episodes show up or just post a quick spoiler summary if it's just a small part of the episode. The only interesting storyline just can't fill up all the episodes they've been given.

She was also George Michael's girlfriend on Arrested Development.

I guess I'll be the weirdo who admits that I actually enjoyed this season of Manifest but I like a good mystery in my shows when the characters keep my interest and I know the writers have a plan in mind (which these writers have said multiple times....everything is connected!). I definitely have a lot of questions after the season finale but I suspect that was their intention to get you to want to watch the next season. If they rolled out all the answers now, the show would be over in like two eps so I'm glad they're stretching it out and letting the characters grow and breathe through it. I hope they get renewed for S3 soon. :)

I never heard of Manifest but read a few things about it thanks to this thread, and it sounds fascinating to me actually. I'm getting bored of shows staying within the confines of a formula, genre, etc. and having to move towards a plot. I've been wanting a show to play with different genres and such just to see if the same set of characters can be seen going through different tropes and stay in-character and be plausible. I've always been more interested in the human interaction, social aspect of things. However, like everything, it all depends on the execution, and if it's like melodramatic or too slow (even for me), then I'd probably lose interest too.

CBC showed 2 episodes of a comedy called Hey Lady! last Saturday starring Jayne Eastwood. It's brilliant.

I pvr'd them and just got around to watching the first one today. I was rather surprised that it was loaded with f-bombs since it was shown at 9 pm but that isn't my point. The main character is named Lady, a senior who lives with her son and daughter-in-law and causes havoc pretty much everywhere she goes. Her son says he is tired of bailing her out of jail. She also tells us she is starring in a show and any time she isn't pleased with how a scene is going, she just switches to a different scene.

Lady named all her kids after dogs - Rover, Sparky, and Lassie. She basically says and does whatever she feels like doing, including propositioning the gorgeous young plumber and grabbing the manager at a restaurant by the balls, having the plumber switch the hot and cold water taps just for the fun of causing trouble for her daughter-in-law. Insults the psychologist's appearance and makes atrocious insulting statements about him when he tries to get her to talk about why she acts the way she does. She totally commandeers the interview until she gets bored with it and changes the scene. She has a friend who just goes along with whatever Lady does and never tries to keep her in check.

I was halfway through this episode when I realized Lady acts exactly like a certain orange person - not happy unless she is bullying someone and creating chaos for all around her.

Unfortunately there do not appear to be any listings for more episodes for the fictitious version. I think it should be the other way around.

There's a Psych marathon going on till 4 a.m. on USA. The two main stars are doing current messages and joking with each other from their homes during commercials.

What's Up Doc is on Saturday at 8 p.m. on TCM.

I think the Psych marathon will repeat weekly until all seasons have aired but you will have to check the dates and times because I don't exactly remember. I do know they are doing 2 seasons at a time.

So I don't know how many have access to this but in case you do, Jamie Oliver has managed to put out a daily program called Jamie: Keep Cooking and Carry On.

The premise is to show you how to make quick, nutritious and delicious meals with items on hand. Each recipe is quite flexible and he suggests multiple substitutes. The production value is as good as always - don't know how he does it and how he got it all together so quickly. Initially it looked like it was just going to be on for 1 week but I now see new listing are continuing next week too.

It is being shown in Canada with one new program daily on CTV Drama channel (4:00pm CT & repeated once at 4:00am). Listing also show multiple repeats on CTV Life channel starting tonight at 8:00 and 8:30 pm, but at a much slower pace - looks like maybe 2 episodes/week.

Anyway, if I'm getting it here in Canada then our friends in the UK are probably able to see it as well. Hopefully it is also being picked up in the USA and other countries.
