Natasha was my first thought, as well. I checked to see if there were any clues but came up empty. If she is still rehabbing, then we need to look elsewhere.

Much as I am a Natasha fan, she seems to be a very hard person to have as a partner.

I said exactly the same thing in a text to someone yesterday. I can't think of who else it could be though, so I have a bad feeling about this.
I seriously can't think of a girl who is Canadian (therefore no citizenship issues) and currently available that could possibly be even potentially worth giving up Julianne for. The first few thoughts in my head were that maybe some crazy world thing is happening and Lubov is coming out of retirement, but stalking her Instagram seems to find her happily touring with Cirque. Then, I thought maybe the Brasseur/Bardei withdrawal from sectionals might be somehow connected to this, but Justine already lives in Montreal. My third thought was Natasha, and I'm sorry, but if Charlie dumped Julianne to skate with Natasha Purich with Olympic medals as his goal, he's completely insane. Then I thought maybe he was converting a singles skater or stealing a girl out of juniors and I literally pulled up the list of competitors at last year's Canadians and looked at all the senior and junior women in singles and pairs, and well, unless Charlie is converting Gabby Daleman to pairs skating, or if he has really managed to convince Evelyn to split from Trennt in mid-season, I don't see a lot of options.

Because MM is not a phenomenal male pairs skater! KMT could be on top!!! She's fabulous - she just needs a partner with the same ability!

I know a lot of people will disagree, but KMT has mad potential to be really great. She reminds me of Annabelle Langlois (without the resting *itch face). They are built to be pair skaters and are really talented, but they never quite get/choose partners that could take them the whole way. I thought Marinaro would be an excellent upgrade from Dylan, and I absolutely do find they have better chemistry/programs/etc., but I admit now he's not the big step I was hoping for. I wish she'd find a really amazing partner that is better than her, so she would have someone to improve to, if that makes sense?

I doubt Charlie would have been a great match, that being said.

But KMT already lives in Montreal.
I'm saying the way they are acting about the partner makes it sound like it wouldn't be good PR wise. The worst partners flin terms of PR would be KMT or getting back together with Julianne. NGL, I would like it to be KMT, but it would be so bad PR wise, I do not think she would touch it with a ten foot pole.

There was a girl named Ekaterina, with a Russian last name that I don't recall, who skated with a Canadian guy at Nationals two or three years ago, and then they kinda disappeared from the scene. It could be her. There's also Sydney Kolodziej, but I don't think that would be an upgrade from Julianne.

ETA: I also forgot about Brittany Jones, if she's still interested in skating competitively.

I think she had a baby earlier this year (?).

Any idea if Allison Eby is still skating? I seem to recall thinking she had potential in the brief period she skated with Trennt Michaud.

Ehat about Gabriella Marvaldi? Is she still skating with Daniel Villeneuve? They did not compete at sectionals.

The text of the Radio-Canada article says his goal is to compete at Worlds in Montreal...which would require a partner who's already at a high level. Cirque is on a break for a couple of weeks...wonder if there have been any sightings of Lubov in Montreal?

I mentioned above that she was my first thought, but her Instagram seems to show her touring happily with Cirque’s ice show and there is no evidence of her being anywhere near Montreal recently. Granted, that doesn’t mean she wasn’t there or rules out the possibility.

ETA: She posted a video of her and one of the Cirque skaters doing a pairs move a few weeks ago and Charlie “liked” it on IG. Interesting...

After having terrible partner and coaching problems in Russia her first priority for partners is their character. (If she is interested at all in skating for another OLympics)

I would hope so, and if so, good on her. If Charlie is so ruthless about dumping partners who he thinks aren't going to get him where he wants, then imagine what would happen if he partnered with Lubov and she continued to have the same struggles with SBS jumps that she had with Dylan.

That being said, in my opinion, she would be the only one currently available that would be worth trying in terms of even potential to upgrade from what Charlie has already accomplished.

A lot of people seem to believe that one day, Lubov's innate star quality and other great skills will override her inability to land jumps when it counts. (I like her and I think she's a lovely skater, but for someone who is looking for a partner that is going to get him on world and Olympic podiums, I don't think she's the one, since I don't think her SBS jumping issues will ever be "fixed".)

It’s interesting how personally you’re taking Bilodeau breaking up his partnership. Weird.

I don’t blame him at all for doing it. He probably figured there was a tech and PCS limit he’d reached with Seguin. With her concussions and weight gain, the tech content wasn’t going to improve and the PCS side of it didn’t come naturally to her.

Too bad Julianne didn't dump him when he was having (I believe knee problems) and kept missing his sbs jumps most of the time...Maybe there would have been a few better choices for a new partner at that time. Hopefully this time off will heal Julianne's medical problems. Fingers crossed.

I remember watching Julianne and Charlie compete the last two seasons and thinking they had plateaued and either huge changes or a new partnership were in order. And i say that as a fan of them as a pair team and a long time fan of their coach. Perhaps partially an injury but how long must one be expected to wait?? The career of an athlete is very short.

I for one was excited to hear Charlie was looking for a new partnership. There is really no correct way to end a partnership. I think hanging around when your heart isn't in it anymore is more dishonest then acknowledging that the partnership isn't working and just making a clean break. They are adults. I will have fond memories of their career and wish them BOTH every success.

I agree. While not following them that close, when i saw them skate they seemed mis-matched and she is too big for him (which does not mean it is her weight, but shape and form in regards to each other).

I was glad to hear he is looking for another partner and so does she.

;) I think there is... talk to your partner first, settle everything, part as friends... before it leaks outside.

People don’t understand that there is something fundamentally wrong with her technique. If Lubov could land jumps, Russia never would have released her, she would have had a top coach, a top partner, and probably would be a World or Olympic medalist,

Yeah, he is actually quite small for a pairs guy. When someone mentioned Marchei, I thought that she would be too big for him, too, although she would be fine for some other guys.

Good news but I am so out of the loop on personal stuff - I thought they were engaged already for a long time, maybe even married already.
Well Best Wishes to the happy couple.
