Ladies SP recap (this is definitely my favorite ladies GP field)

Panekova: No Tsareva, no jumps, no lipstick. Move along, nothing to see here. Although I have to admit I was happy Tsareva's imposter was super supportive in the K&C.

Chartrand: The comeback trail continues! Good fight!

Med: I still have WHAM BAM ALLAKAZAM stuck in my head an hour later. :scream: Basics look better but the program is ghastly. I mean, this is something Karen Preston would have done at the 1997 Ladies Pro. However, if she can go clean tomorrow she wins at least silver, so it's not a disaster yet.

Other Canadian girl: Back to Black meets Canadian perk! I can appreciate this.

Mariah Bell was amazing. I don't care about that >>>> combo, she deserved so much more PCS. She emoted so well, I was so into it. To Love You More is in my top 3 favorite Celine songs (it rotates depending on my mood and weight. :rofl: )

All 3 Japanese ladies here all picked batshit crazy music and voidy programs. Can we send this trio to worlds? :love:

I am eternally grateful to Matsuda for giving us polka dots, pearl necklace, glitter, and gloves. I bitched about the music in the pbp thread but I've already re-watched this twice. :cheer:

Yamashita with a Kanako tribute. :love: i thought she wuzrobbed of second and definitely deserved a point of two more.

Higuchi already looks much improved from Autumn Classic, and the hoe down she does at the end of her program is epic.

Tuk absolutely slayed! Although I hate the 3t3t right against the boards. It's such a good combo for her, why hide it? Also I wish she would amp up the ice coverage and speed just a little bit, because it really bugs me, especially in the SP. I can overlook it much more easily in the LP when she's posing all over and giving us face.

best dressed: Matsuda! (Mariah Celine was obviously the best dressed, but I still liked Matsuda more)

SC Dance SD Impressions

Sale & Wamsteeker - GOod chemistry but I admit failiing to pay attention because of that awful man bun and thinking why would anyone chose green for a tango.
Tweedale & Buckland - This was as flat and boring as last week. The only good thing was double Buckland candy on the K&C.
Smart & Diaz - That is one clever tango. Love the details. My only nitpick is her interpretation is more cold than fierce.
Skoptsova & Aleshin - I like their quirky style. If they can survive the frustration of first senior year and back to reality scores I can see them as spoiler by 2022.
Sinitsina & Katsalapov - I hate that twizzles scores now count separately for each partner. It was the one do or die element in dance. Other than that. Pretty good.
Soucisse & Firus - This was a mess even before the fall. Im no teknik but even I could see that tango pattern wasnt goinh to get good levels. Plus the music sucks. Scrap it now.
Lauriault & Le Gac - Mixed feeling. Looved their crazy look and full attack but hate the pseudo chicago tango.
Hubbell & Donohue - It was better than at SA but with that music and that new dress they look like a heavier less passionate version of Weaver & Poje.
Gilles & Poirier - Interesting twizzles and best portrayal of the tango feeling tonight but those pattern mistakes were too costly. bye bye GPF
Wang & LIu - much much improved speed and didnt felt so out of place as going last. Good job.

Best Dressed - Sinitsina & Katsalapov with G&P close second.
Do-Hard - Le Gac
 
SC ladies SP impressions

Panenkova - I should feel bad but she entered the ice with the longest face and feeling already defeated so bleh to that poor attitude.
Pineault - typical 2nd rate canadian lady. Nice song though.
Andrews - solid rebounce from her debut dissapointment.
Chartrand - im very happy she's slowly getting her groove back . Life goes in circles. And LMAO at the collective awww when they showed in the slow motion it was an UR.
Matsuda - nice girl but shes getting nowhere in the JPN field. That junior package is not helping either.
Yamashita - Huuge combo and lovely flow but this is a primer example of vocals overshadowing the performance.
Bell - I could do without that cheesy aimed to middle aged women song but damn she sold it. Most condifent I have seen her so far. Too bad about the carrot soup.
La Tuk - oh yes momma! 3A out of nowhere, tons of sass . She should compete only every 4 years. #missionworldpodium is real
Tursy - She finally doesnt look like an underfed kid . Her skating is nice but too introvert and she never stands out.
Zhenya - After sex bomb Liza this felt like a girl trying on her mother clothes. Shes just not comfortable skating to this style. The Eteri curse strikes again.
Higuchi - What a wonderful music choice , what a waste of choreo. Never takes advantage of any musical highlight until the last 10-15 seconds. Wakaba deserves better.

Best dressed - Bell (I cant believe i wrote that)
Do-Hard - LA f+cking Tuk
 
So much going on, haven't been able to watch all the men yet, but seems Poster Boy has read the rules about not constantly splatting:p He takes responsibility when grandpa Bych is turning great grandpa...

BF used to say Velvet Boy looked like a Colombian drug dealer, he saw his new hair for the first time yesterday. At least that's improved.

Pineault-where's the catsuit??? No glittery dress to this music!

Andrews-quite nice. Not the most exciting, I expect more fun in later years (but don't get done in!)

Chartrand-oh yes, girl is back!

Matsuda-Jennifer Robinson called, she wants her everything back. But I knew Vice would like it, and I kind of did too;)

Yamashita-totally awesome. Everyone in the pbp hates the music, I loved it. Jumps totally easy out of nowhere.

Bell-???Loved every nanosecond of it. She sold it. Wuzrobbed!!!

LaTuk-Queen! 3axel like nothing bitches. She hardly uses her arms in the take-off, so easy. Mishin is my fave. Love his grandpa vibes to pieces.

Tursy-can't really get me excited though she's improved. Those jumps are still tiny and scratchy.

(((Janny))) she and Brian/Stephen Fry/Michael Caine looked so defeated and sad in the KnC. She's not a girl and yet a woman now (Galustyan curse???) so no wonder she struggles. But Liza can do it, so can she. She'll slay again! #powerofboobs

Higuchi-I guess I should with this program, but I can't. Where's my Wakaba from last year? She still seems a little out of shape and sloppy. And if her FS haven't improved the last month, it will be even worse. Blah!

And what's with all the L2 step seq??? Up your game ladies! Liza got L3, that's something.

I’ll miss her though. I’ve been a fan since she was 15 and it’s been wonderful seeing her grow up and deliver such lovely performances. Never forget that epic bronze at 2017 COC!

Ruest/Wolfe had some problems but I think the program is nice.

Boikova/Kozlovskii’s SP wasn’t outstanding to me; I like their FS better. If it’s them or Efimova I’m team Efimova, but y’all know the only Russian pair skater I bow to is Stolbova, so as long as she gets her rightful Olympics I don’t care who’s going with her.

I actually LOVE Denney/Frazier’s SP. But why do the outfits remind me of when my mom made me watch Grease?

Alexandrovskaya/Windsor’s program is fine but it’s nothing exciting for me...you take Windsor, I’ll go for Evelyn Walsh.

Okayyyyyy so I usually hate the song “the first time ever I saw your face” with a burning passion...but the program itself isn’t that bad? I don’t hate it.

PENG AND JIN, HECK YEAH! What happened to our little dainty butterfly princess? She is now a total diva (in a good way!). I am loving the hair (as an Asian girl with short hair, I totally approve!) and the costumes are just so. dang. cool. Sorry, I’m in love.

I want to love Vanessa and Morgan’s SP but it just doesn’t click for me. I think the last 3 years were better tbh. They have a style and it works for them, but it’s starting to feel just a little stale. “I’m so sick of that same old love...”
 
Skate Canada Ice Dance RD Bossman recap:

S/W - I appreciate her (far from distance) Nicole Kidman look. Skating non-memorable.
T/B - All is said about him being hot, now it's time for her to catch up with the skating. Big brother looks way more hot in knc than he ever has as a skater.
S/D - How much I hate that styling on Libby :yikes: If I like them or nor, this is one of the Top3 Tango's so far this season. Almost 34pcs? :shuffle:
S/A - Did not like them as junior, but that RD totally got me :eek::encore:Awesome 90's russian diva look on her, but what the hell is this hair colour? They did not look like just coming outta juniors to me. But got the scores like coming outta juniors :rofl:
S/K - Love the concept of this RD. Hate the costumes. Was kinda rough though today.
S/F - Can we pair him up with TM2 or Radio? :drama: Either way, I cannot see how it should work in the upcoming years, when you have the same coach as your main rivals for the 3rd olympic spot.
L/LG - French Dieck, which is no compliment. Bob look does not win me either. PCS :blah::blah::blah:
H/D - Solid. But somehow they lost me, sorry :shuffle:
G/P - Kinda lucky with the timing of the fall, mojo was gone though afterwards. Of course they **** up my predictions :wall:
W/L - Would love her dress with no sparkles on the top. Kicking G/P in first flight :watch:

Tuktamysheva - Boy that was slow and cautious until the lutz. But afterwards it was just awesome :encore:Long live LaTuk! :glamor: This end-pose-face-game is everything :glamor: PCS seem fine, they won't hand it out that easily.
Tursynbaeva - Call me when mama is back :drama:
Medvedeva - Puh, that dress does not help the cause :shuffle: Sorry, I know most people like the orserfied Med, bossman does not. I still will root for her, just because she goes on! But boy...:shuffle:
Higuchi - This SP is so wrong. Choreo does not fit the beat/music at all, neither the speed and performance. This is a hot mess. Seriously. Totally dislike it!

My review of ladies SP:

Panenkova - My heart broke so hard. Sometimes you bring the sky down, and sometimes the sky falls on you.

Pineault - Not bad at all. Very nice performance, I love the song. (I’m actually low key surprised no one’s commented on the boobs but of course I’m just supposed to be judging the skating so mum’s the word)

Andrews - This program doesn’t do her any favors, but I’m proud of her for laying down a clean program.

Chartrand - YASSSS QUEEN! I really love this SP for her. Keep fighting girl!

Matsuda - Very cute, but I’m still having PTSD from the last time someone skated in a polka dot dress so it’s a no for me.

Yamashita - again, she’s darling but when it comes to Japanese girls, my heart is with Higuchi!!!

Bell - LOVE IT, underscored imo

Empress Tuk - SLAAAAAAAAAAAAY! I love Assassin’s Tango, I love Liza, and I love a well-landed 3A. Take that, you big dumb fat-shaming TSL!

Tursynbaeva - lovely

Medvedeva - I don’t mind the program but it gives me such a Kaetlyn Osmond vibe that I can’t watch and see it as an “Evgenia” program. Fluke mistake, costly, but I don’t think it will happen again. The dress is okay, I don’t have a strong feeling for it or against it.

Higuchi - Bossman, you’re gonna have to fight me on this one, because I’m a hardcore Wakaba fan here and will not budge from this spot until she becomes world champion. Slay girl slay.

The first time I tried to watch Medvedeva's new program (test skate video maybe?) I had to turn it off after five seconds because I just couldn't bear to see her doing that like jazz hands type style (I'm not saying there WERE actual jazz hands, but the whole vibe was very jazz hands) and I had been genuinely looking forward to it! It was so painful to me. I need to give it another chance but man.

I know Med shouldn't be around, but my heart is indeed breaking for her right now. Just watched a teary eyed interview on IG;) So I guess a little chatter is ok.
