Or Autumn Classic? It would be a short flight, is a week later than US International Classic, and is not at altitude.

In the absence of Kaetlyn Osmond, Gabby Daleman and Alaine Chartrand will be heavy favorites at the Autumn Classic, and Aurora Cotop, Alicia Pineault and Larkyn Austman will all get generously scored. I'm afraid Gracie would get lowballed.

Apparently she had a < and a step out yesterday in her SP. Looks like they have a good tech controller today. I hope that gets her to focus on rotating her jumps.

Glenn landed 3F+3T< and had a hand down on her 3Lo; no step out that I saw on the webcast. Sarah Rasher's comments while watching the live stream: https://twitter.com/pas_deChat/status/1020093718756577281
She won Group B (59.07).

Hanna Harrell won Senior Ladies Group A SP yesterday with a score of 61.66 - she skated to "Bla Bla Bla Cha Cha Cha" and landed 2A, 3F with both arms overhead (flip is the required jump in Junior SP this season) and second half Rippon3Lz+'tano 2T. Good energy in her performance!

Thanks for the correction. And thank you so much for providing updates on your site. I don't have time to watch the live stream like last year. Your site is a godsend.

@euterpe Do you know those Canadians ladies will be there? I see nothing on the SC page.

Last year, they sent Osmond and Chartrand, and since Daleman was recovering from surgery, Tamura. This year, with Osmond away on tour, for sure Daleman and Chartrand will be there, and at least one of the others I mentioned.

Also, the Japanese also like to send at least two of their ladies tp the Autumn Classic, and invariably at least one of them lands on the podium. And who knows---Medvedeva is training in Canada; she might show up there this year as well.

Anyway, USFS rarely sends their top ladies to Autumn Classic. Last year, it was Courtney Hicks, who finished 4th.

Brian said earlier that Evgenia would do either Autumn Classic or Finlandia.

Anyways, the USFS won't send Bradie to ACI, but I wouldn't say Gracie is one of their top ladies right now. She has to work her way back (and I'd love to see that, if that's her goal). If she's ready for a competition at that time and ACI works for her, then I see no reason for her to avoid it. She doesn't have to win right away. It may take time for her to come back.

Honestly if someone in charge has Gracie's best interests at heart, they will have her go to a Senior B before her Grand Prix event and they will try to make it a Senior B as far away from North American Media as possible.

That would give her the easiest transition back to competitive skating.

I really hope Gracie shows she deserves getting 2 GP assignments. I'd hate to see the Gracie of late 2016 struggling to even land double jumps. I don't expect her to be in 2013-2016 form and win or maybe even medal but i hope she looks better then in her last season and is in good shape. Nothing worse then seeing a former world contender getting beat by skaters she used to beat by 40 points. I still think she needs to do a Senior B just to get her feet wet in competition again.

Gracie is healthier than she was then, and she's not going to show up unprepared. She didn't just fall off the turnip truck. She's a smart and experienced athlete.

If Gracie wants a Senior B later than Philadelphia Intl and Mexican open, rather than a Challenger Event:

Cup of Nice 19-21 Oct (same time as SA) 4 weeks before Rostelecom
Ice Challenge (Graz) Nov 7-11 2 weeks before Rostelecom

JGP assignments are not yet posted/confirmed on USFS' International Assignments page but 2018 U.S. Junior silver medalist Pooja KALYAN is listed for the first one in Bratislava (this would be her JGP debut). She recently competed in and won the Senior Ladies event at Skate Milwaukee.

There currently are 12 listed substitutes:
Maxine BAUTISTA
Ting CUI
Hanna HARRELL
Ashley LIN (assigned to Asian Open Trophy in Jr.)
Akari NAKAHARA
Kaitlyn NGUYEN (has not competed yet this summer, AFAIK)
Jenna SHI

These 5 have been competing junior this spring/summer:
Emma COPPESS
Angelina HUANG
Gabriella IZZO (assigned to Asian Open Trophy in Jr.)
Sarah JUNG
Audrey SHIN

Angela Wang, Alysa Liu, Ting Cui, Emmy Ma, Megan Wessenberg, Ashley Lin, Emily Chan, Akari Nakahara, Heidi Munger, Avery Kurtz, Alexis Gagnon and Elizaveta Kulik are among those listed to compete in the Senior Ladies SP at the Glacier Falls Summer Classic club competition tonight in Anaheim, California. If I hear or receive any results, I will post in the competition thread in Kiss & Cry and in my blog (unseenskaters.wordpress.com).

Elizaveta Kulik placed 8th in Junior Ladies at 2017 U.S. Nationals. She did not compete last season, AFAIK. She did a small club comp. back in May (scored ~132 total there).
:D that was pretty good…. Given she came out in a Venician masquerade bodice dress, doing North-Indian dervish ritual poses with Egyptian-arms gestures, to Scheherazade…. And messed up half of the jumps..

Thank you, Sylvia! I thought Eliza retired, but how great to see her continuing! Your posts are always much appreciated!

That’s leave the people that haven’t debut their programs but have a GP slot down to Bradie Tennell, Courtney Hicks, Mariah Bell, and Gracie Gold. Champs Camp is in about a week, so I hope they debut before the start of the CS.

And Alysa was nearly 5 points above Sara Honda (11yo) who is the youngest siblings of Marin Honda. Personally I liked Alysa's performance better than Sara's. I thought Alysa entered to Jr event but she's still at Novice A age?

Yes, Alysa will be age eligible for international juniors next season.
Thanks! She looks matured for her age on the technical and performance side. I feel American new wave is actually coming (finally). Hopefully she'll have domestic rivalry with a few more up and comers around her age.

Alysa is A-MAZ-ING. She does not skate like a 12 y/o. Her musicality and movement are incredible. It obviously comes naturally to her, because it usually takes YEARS to develop into the performer she is. I usually do not get on board when a junior gets some attention, and certainly not one too young to even compete internationally as a junior. But she is special, and it is not just due to her 3axels either. This performance is crazy good without the big guns. I can absolutely see her winning Senior Nationals this year.
