I love Deception! That's a fun show! :wuzrobbed I can see Rise only being a one season show because what are they gonna do, have a controversial musical that gets all the old folk up in arms e-v-e-r-y year? I guess it could have just progressed with the kids moving up one grade and just doing another musical, but the 'controversy' part couldn't happen every time.

The first hour of "Patrick Melrose" was terrific; both howlingly funny and terribly sad at the same time. I'm now convinced that Benedict Cumberbatch is the greatest actor of his generation and maybe many generations. And I'm no Cumberbitch. I think the role of Patrick would be technically difficult to play because of the varying levels of sobriety combined with sadness, horror, love, hope and despair. Cumberbatch pulls it off beautifully. I cannot wait for the rest of this series. I will be surprised if he does not win an Emmy for this.

I decided to watch some episodes of Will & Grace with some friends, and is it me or is this show as good as it was when it originally aired? Most reboots/revivals are middling-to-bad but this one is really on its A-game if you liked the show. This one seems way more fresh and inspired than most new sitcoms. I didn't think I'd like it that much because I went from loving the original show in the first two seasons to not really liking it. To me, the writing is really popping and quick and all the actors just got back into form as if no years have passed. A big contrast to the slog that was Roseanne when I decided to check the early episodes out. Unlike that one, W&G isn't struggling to fill the 30 minute time slot nor are the actors struggling with making the material work.

The actors really seem to enjoy the experience and being back together. They are great and inspired. But the actual plotlines are weak. I already fear they will stuff their episodes with ultra famous guest stars.

I refuse to watch Roseanne.

Thursday on NBC is American Ninja Warrior All-Stars. That's 9-11. It has that date as original date, so I'm guessing it's new, being on NBC, and not one of the million reruns on other channels. And the Thursday after that is Celebrity ANW at 8 p.m. Something to do with the Red Nose thing.

I feel like the plots are pretty much on par with what the show originally was. Maybe my standards were low but after watching other revivals, this one is much better. I also think sitcoms aren't that great these days (not that I watch many), so W&G is a step above.

I thought Will and Grace started off just a little bit slow and then really kicked into gear. Roseanne has improved each episode. If you like really sharp writing (and acting and directing), I hope you will check out Young Sheldon. It's amazing. :respec:

I love the child actor who stars as Young Sheldon. He was excellent in Big Little Lies, but I knew him as a young Broadway fan who would do incredibly positive theatre reviews and is the son of Tony-nominee Scottish-born actor Euan Morton who was most famous for playing Boy George in the musical Taboo. I didn't watch Big Bang Theory much, but I think I may check Young Sheldon out.

Wow, I had no idea. Euan Morton has the voice of an angel! :swoon:

I'm not clear on Big Little Lies season 2 filming, but one would have to assume Iain Armitage will have some overlap between that and filming Young Sheldon season 2.

I know this is just a 2 hour movie, but I wonder if they would consider a series if it's successful.
(let it be known, it would be a rather expensive series to produce).

It's going to be the last season of Face Off on SyFy this June. Even though it's a reality tv competition they stayed away from the drama for the most part. They really tended to focus on the makeups. I am really going to miss this show.

Wow - a less fake reality show? Who would have thought it could happen? Not me. Almost makes me wish I had watched it but really not an area of interest for me. I wish the stuff I was interested in was more straightforward. I enjoy quiz shows but stopped watching who wants to be a millionaire after the very first half hour when they only managed to get through 1 1/2 questions - what a waste of time. I even get annoyed at the "getting to know the contestants" segment of Jeopardy and the fake-y answer as a question formula.

The judges were Ve Neill and Glen Hetrick. Also upon availability Patrick Tatopoulos, Neville Page and Lois Burwell. I believe a lot of the contestants were able to get jobs with Ve and Glen so a bit of professionalism could do more than any backstabbing in a competition. The contestants tended to help each other out. There was a bit of backstabbing and drama in the beginning but it evolved into something better IMO.

YAY Leslie! These networks seem to target all my fave shows and if they follow through there wouldn't be much left for me to watch on the main networks.

It may be just me and @VIETgrlTerifa who are watching "Killing Eve", but this is just the most fabulous show ever! What freaking writing and performances! I never watched Sandra Oh in "Gray's Anatomy", so her impressive skills are new to me, and Jodie Comer is magnificent. I have watched each episode at least 3 times now, catching more nuances and layers, and episode 5 I think I've watched 7 or 8 times already; the middle scene in the kitchen, and the scene with Villanelle and Frank in the bathroom, just completely blow me away. I'm wondering if she is going to become some kind of protected witness for British intelligence, to try to track down the 12....can't believe there's only two episodes left of this season!

I didn’t know until tonight when I saw his Twitter for the first time that the actor who plays Rufus is a rapper?

I have been watching it. I will continue to do so. But I haven't been inspired to rewatch.

It's fun to hear Dumbledore's voice in the role of Mr. Laurence. ;)
