I love how animated Caroline Green and Michael Parsons were in this post-RD mini-interview at NHK (off-camera voice belongs to Satoko, I believe):

Kolesnik got his green card in summer 2020, as did Carreira -- so I hope their citizenship timelines will be similar. 🙏

Oh, I realize this. That's another reason why I don't think BraSom are in any conversation for the Worlds team this year. I have no idea who will triumph between ZingKol and GreenP, though. I'll be rooting for GreenP because I think their programs are better this year.

That is cutting a bit close. Usfs may want to invest in a team who are eligible for the Olympics for sure. Besides this gives more time for Zingas to beef up her technique.

I think g/p has a good balance between technical vs presentation at least this season

That is cutting a bit close. ...

If "cutting it a bit close" refers to citizenship timeline for Kolesnik, then I would say that citizenship timeline for Carreira also is cutting it a bit close. AFAIK, most FSU comments regarding prospects for Carreira's U.S. passport have a high degree of optimism that it will come through just fine -- but not so much regarding Kolesnik's, which I don't understand. 🤷‍♀️
[ETA: Not that it really matters what members of FSU (including me) think . USFS is a different story.]

I am a big fan of Green/Parsons as well as Zingas/Kolesnik, and I like Bratti/Somerville too.
I will be happy for any partnership that makes it to 2025 Worlds, and sad for any that do not.
I just don't want anyone to be at a disadvantage or advantage because of citizenship status.

If the three teams are relatively similar competitively speaking I can see Olympic eligible teams having a small advantage.

To be honest I think z/k rose up quickly and didn’t have time to get the skills solid yet. Namely her edges. Ymmv (I enjoy watching them though)

I think Vadym's citizenship timeline may also play into it. If USFS doesn't think he'll have citizenship in time for the Olys, they are likely to push the teams that do/will. Supposedly, he's on track to get it, but if USFS isn't confident about that...
Do we even know if Christina Carreira has her citizenship yet? Last i heard she was having trouble getting her green card or something to do with her citizenship a couple of years ago.

She has a green card and said she is on track to have her citizenship springish of 2025. Hopefully that timeline doesn't change.

I'm with you. We have an embarrassment of riches in U.S. ice dance. If only we had more than 3 spots.

The Browns and Morozov/Chen (as well as Aboian/Veselukhin) have been assigned to Santa Claus Cup. I'm a bit surprised that the Browns aren't being sent to Golden Spin, but the USFS seems to be trying to only assign 2 dance teams to any of the Challengers. Process of elimination says Green/Parsons and Neset/Markelov will be going to Golden Spin.

On Ice Perspectives' Jordan Cowan filmed Hana Aboian/Daniil Veselukhin's Junior RD last month and uploaded it yesterday (Nov. 2): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zJwLFrLzRUk
And here's Aboian/Veselukhin's FD from the same session with On Ice Perspectives: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u7vUoHkZRn8
It's a "balletic representation of a flower and wind experiencing the seasons" - Music: “Clarinet Concerto in A major K.622/II,” “Piano Concerto No.21 in C major K.467/II” and “Symphony no.40 in G minor - Molto Allegro” composed by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart (Music edited by Alexander Goldstein).

From what I can see so far, there is a semblance of a pecking order between #3-#5 (or even 7) but they are close together enough that it takes one mistake and the pecking order will be out of order. And given the pressure on the teams, mistakes will happen. :(

I agree with this (but also may change my opinion if something drastic happens for g/p at coc lol)

ETA: I saw a few of the RDs and G/P’s is at least fun and cohesive. Why the Browns aren’t more entertaining is a puzzle.
I think the Browns have the opposite problem to many younger teams, who struggle to find their on ice identity in their first few senior seasons. The Browns have a very clear identity: they're the funky kids. But showing range - and, I guess, maturity - is more of a stretch for them, which is probably additionally hampered by the limitations of being a sibling team. So they get programmes like last seasons' FD, which was probably aiming to show more emotional depth but ended up being simultaneously bland and WTF, and latin Imagine Dragons, where they seemed to be trying to fit the theme to their style.
