Forget about home wreckers. What about defending a brother ‘s actions that precipitated your father’s death?

Do you really want to judge a sister and a mother for asking for leniency for a family member who may have had mental problems and needed help and was also probably grieving and dealing with the guilt of his actions? It was obviously a complicated family situation, and though you probably would have sat back and let justice do it’s thing, is it hard to comprehend why someone else would act differently?

Sometimes the best defense isn’t a good offense on somebody else just to deflect attention.

I think people need to recognize that concurrent disorders is a complex issue and emotionally charged situations can lead to physically acting out. Nancy's brother had been struggling with his issues for awhile.

I can not even imagine what Nancy and her mom went through with what her brother did and her dad's death. Though imvho, letting her brother off without any punishment is also not right either because he did hurt her dad. I am only on the outside looking in. My opinion is solely based on my experiences with people who are struggling with these issues. Seeing that side, it is so complex and so much bigger than many can even begin to comprehend.

The regret, guilt, shame etc is hard for many to overcome.

Not sure how things are going now but I hope they are doing well...

This is exactly why ABC did this, not only is she one of the first Ice skaters the everyday U.S. public can think of, the hardcore fans make such a fuzz about anything she does, it seems like her and Rippon were the obvious choices. I believe I do have a strong stance in general! I have many years or practicing it every time I use a urinal. The Walmart in Albuquerque still had the trough style urinals like many stadiums have up til 2013, I miss those.

Sean Avery! Oh man, this guy... I hated him so much (when he played in the NHL), he was a constant pest although actually a pretty talented hockey player. Famous for his "sloppy seconds" comment and for creating a new rule when he screened Marty Brodeur by standing in front of him with the back turned to the play, waving his stick in front of him. It was so weird no rule had been written to give him a penalty. After that playoff series Marty refused to shake his hand since he had trash talked about family stuff on ice. In the interview after he said "Fatso didn't want to shake my hand".

I don't think Tonya is an angel, but I don't think she is the devil either. I think she is a very flawed human and the potential for further vilification on this show is very, very high for her. I hope for her own sake that she has thought this through, and that she's grown and matured to the extent that she isn't going to give ABC further rope in which to hang her on.

Nancy went on record as thinking her brother should have not went at all. THAT, I disagree with.I am well aware if what sentence her brother got. My experieces in the field show that many times someone struggling with addiction needs a cataylst to get help and if family continue to enable the problems... why bother seeking it? Her brother did have a physical altercation with her dad.

The producers have to think of ratings and, to be sure, there's almost no one in the USA who doesn't know who Tonya is. People will tune in for her. And, for all of Adam's recent celebrity, maybe 10% of the population knows who he is, and most of that is from his post-Olympic appearances on Ellen, Stephen Colbert, etc. Still, that's pretty good.

I love the Shibs and would have enjoyed seeing them on DWTS, but their recognizability is less than Adam's... and almost no one knows Mirai. Not that many people watch the Olympics.

I tried googling but only found some articled about social media metrics, where Adam was amongst the top performing Olympians. But considering not everybody in USA is active on twitter/IG/FB and not everybody was watching the Olympics (or Colbert/Ellen for that matter), I've no idea how much name recognition he, or other Pyeongchang stars like Chloe Kim & Red Gerard, has among the general population.

So, if I understood right, to calculate the Q score they collect the data about the % of population who have heard about [insert X]. However, the Q score in itself doesn't directly tell that %, because the score factors in whether those who have heard of X have a favorable impression of X or not.

And apparently the data re: the % of population who has heard of X is not available for random FSU posters who are curious about these things because it's a business, and why would they want to give that information away for free?
