Isabeau muscles her jumps and unfortunately for me, brings up comparisons in my mind with Eteri skaters, except no 3A or quad.

However, unlike the Eteri-bots, she communicates with the audience and has loads of presentation, musicality and choreography

I found the chat above about Amber to be interesting - I too thought the 3A could work in the SP, because she only seems to go south after the 4th jumping pass in the LP vs. 3 jumping passes in the SP

Can't wait to see what Ava and Alisa bring in the next season! Who is coaching Alisa?

This is on her Wikipedia page re: her comeback. I don't know how remote coaching will work out (maybe fine to start with), but I'm very happy to see Massimo's name again.
She works remotely with coaches Phillip DiGuglielmo and Massimo Scali who are based in San Francisco while she attends college in Los Angeles

I had posted Hersh's March 4th tweets re. Alysa's coaches in her thread here: https://www.fsuniverse.net/forum/th...ming-back-in-2024.109609/page-13#post-6562712
"... have just learned 2-time U.S. champion and 2022 world bronze medalist Alysa Liu will work with coaches Phillip DiGuglielmo and Massimo Scali in her return to competitive figure skating. She has worked with both in the past."

Phillip D. was Alysa's coach at 2022 Worlds in France.

Isabeau is performing in the Japanese SOI shows.

Isabeau and Hana (Hanna?) Yoshida just posted IG stories of them together with some of the other skaters. Piper took the photos:
@Allskate Yoshida’s own Instagram account spells her first name “Hanna” and her ISU bio used to be that way too but is “Hana” now as well as in ISU results.

For those without Instagram access, this fan posted a clip of Isabeau & Hana enjoying Osaka cheese coins and a screenshot of them on X: https://x.com/violetsvirtue/status/1774046194920006059

"Hana" is a feminine Japanese name, meaning "flower." I don't think that "Hanna" is a word in Japanese, but if it were, it would be written with different characters and have a different meaning.

Yes, I know. That's why I posted it as "Hana (Hanna?)" when I was posting a link to her Instagram. She spells it differently than the ISU, NBC, etc. do. Everybody else is using "Hana." It seems kind of rude not to use her chosen spelling, but she may not have given much thought to the English spelling.

Yesterday Mia Kalin posted a photo with Cindy Stuart to thank her for choreographing her new FS (music not revealed): https://www.instagram.com/p/C5HMjOAS2eM/
It's been posted in the new 2024-25 Programs & Choreographers thread today that Mia is keeping her "Rain, In Your Black Eyes" SP and that her new FS music is "Romeo & Juliet" (composer/composers TBA). More info from Mia via Reddit:

Juat a bit of off-season whimsy: I was watching TCM this morning and was struck by Joanne Woodward's resemblance to Amber Glenn! Does anyone else see it?
They have similar makeup routines, but that's about it. Then again, I did have a classmate in high school who had a very strong resemblance to Joanne Woodward, so I acknowledge my own bias here.

Speaking of look-alikes, and I know this is the US women’s thread, but I’ve always thought Gubanova looks like Rachel McAdams

Hawayek/Baker are still included and they didn’t compete last year, either. Same for Alysa Liu.

Feb. 23:
Sarah [Everhardt] shared 6 photos https://www.instagram.com/p/C3X4EuAroDq/ from last week's USFS’ high performance singles camp in Boston that included (in the first group pic) Jean-Luc Baker as one of the instructors and Junior World team members Josephine Lee & Sherry Zhang, plus the 3 alternates (1st-3rd) Logan Higase-Chen, Everhardt & Elyce Lin-Gracey.
Also invited were Emilia Nemirovsky J4 at Nationals, Jiaying Elyse Johnson J6, Skylar Lautowa-Peguero (top novice in NQS rankings who did not compete at Easterns due to injury) and SCoB-based skaters Ela Cui J8, Sophie Joline von Felten J9 (who landed two clean 3A at Nationals; clip of her 4S-in-progress: https://www.instagram.com/reel/C3IySVJRRx0/), Jinna Han (Easterns Intermediate silver medalist) and Deborah Liu (Easterns Juvenile bronze medalist).
It's not my intention to "hype her up" but since Ice House (Hackensack, NJ) has shared a video of Skylar Lautowa-Peguero's Junior FS (scored 119.23) at the Morris Open club competition in NJ on April 6, I thought I should share the link here: https://www.instagram.com/reel/C5o9pffLPrX/ ("Inspiration" by Florian Christl)
Her FS protocol (7 triples landed) - ETA correct link: https://twitter.com/SylviaUnseen/status/1778607877361385474
She is coached by her mom, Julia Lautowa, and Nina Petrenko is her choreographer.
Her 2023-24 SP music is Christina Aguilera's "Learning to Fly" (here's a show version that was filmed by Jordan Cowan at Sky Rink in early December 2023).
ETA that I've since been informed that Skylar is 11 years old and will be 12 in December.

2024 U.S. national competitor Wren Warne-Jacobsen (13th in her Senior debut in Columbus) turned 21 yesterday and skated to "What Was I Made For" :D in her club’s show in Shakopee, MN (saw a clip in her Insta stories)
And Wren now has confirmed that this song of Billie Eilish’s is her SP music for the new season (choreographed by Kate Charbonneau Shurts):
The first of how many??? ;)
