I don't think anyone said that it was. And I'm pretty sure that a fortuneteller didn't tell him that he would have those boot problems and come in last at this competition.I can see that this may have been the motivation but I don't think coming in last place at Skate China is necessarily building the body of work that he is going to need.

Personally, I'm looking forward to seeing him skate as a senior at Nationals. I think he is a lovely skater. He may or may not ever have consistent quads. But, that doesn't mean I won't enjoy his skating.
Does he always do his quad-toes with his arms over his head? Perhaps changing that would help? Or is it already an entrenched habit for him to do toe jumps that way?
