Aylsa Liu is now at TCC. Has she gone for some specialist jump training?...new skates?.. a visit? some choreo? TCC helps out with all these things..re: wilson skates often sends skaters to try out skates on their rink. Or some choreographers visit there . Brian is always happy to work hand in hand with a current coach to tweak a bit on students are close to success on the more difficult jumps. This is the off season and lots of skaters are on their break so TCC should not be as busy. Brian is in Korea finishing off a show. I guess we will know soon enough. I agree a 13yr old from a big family would find changing everything a bit (lot)too much.
She's there right now? I thought she was doing a few shows with SOI. I must have misheard. Well it's nice that's she getting some attention before the season starts. It's only four months before the JGP starts.

Alysa is scheduled to perform in 3 of the final 4 SOI stops: Anaheim (Saturday, May 11), San Jose (Sunday, May 12) and Portland, OR (Saturday, May 18).
Aylsa Liu is now at TCC.
Can you share your source or a link? ETA that I found a link to Shingo Nishiyama's IG (video of 4 skaters doing sbs 3S, including Alysa): https://www.instagram.com/p/Bwf6a_-n0hz/

Alysa Liu's most recent programs over the years, AFAIK, have been choreographed by Cindy Stuart with Rohene Ward doing her "Don't Rain on My Parade" SP this past season. I had heard unofficially a few months ago that she might be trying a new choreographer in Canada for the new season.

Sometimes skating skills can be a function of the how many other top skaters you share ice with, perhaps? Is she the fastest at her rink, at least in her sessions?
I was just going to say that.

World Team Trophy is known to overscore, so Bradie’s scores outside of it should be in the 218-220 range give or take a few points. Consistency and reputation will once again be Bradie’s biggest hurdles. If she maintains her current form and improves, she could very well begin scoring above 225. However, the judges have finally noticed her, as seen by her PCS and GOE’s, so the trajectory is in her favor. Also, she broke TWO American ladies’ international score records, so hopefully she uses this as a jumping point toward bigger goals.
She scored 130+ At Skate America with a very unclean skate, so I’m not sure where this take is coming from.

Huh, looks like regular Tahoe slipperiness to me? Surely skaters do way more risky things. And her coach liked the post so nobody needs to share.
It is much safer to walk downstairs sideways when coated with ice and snow. I would have spent the winter in hospital if I did stairs like that. We did not winter well in Mtl.

Off topic question..

If you have an idea for my new avatar now that M&J have broken my heart DM me..

Back to USA ladies now...
Well clearly you are Bradie's biggest fan -- you could be the first to avatar her. Sorry about M and J -- I'm disappointed too (but as "retirements" go, they picked a very cool way to do it).

Alysa lives in the Bay Area so she probably hasn’t had a lot of snow experience.

^^^ The original source of that video was from Christina Carreira's IG story clip filmed at the SC of San Francisco's gala show (finale, I think) back in late March - here's her photo of the 3 of them on the ice: https://www.instagram.com/p/BvrSxLiHQb5/
RT.com used that video (4Lz not 4F) in their recent article about Alysa.

ETA that Alysa's coach's name is Laura Lipetsky - after Nationals she shared this throwback photo of her and Alysa at age 7: https://www.instagram.com/p/BtL_W3pnM0b/

Off-season predictions/wants
- Mariah Bell adds a solid 3-3 in her Short and Long
- Ting moves to Raf/Hamada and learns the 3A and 4T ... and lands them ... and finds consistency
- Hanna lands her 3A and 4T
- Alysa works on her skating skills, jumps, and overall package ... and moves to Orser (xD)
- Bradie works on her under-rotation calls
- Starr moves to a new coach and finds a new team
- The juniors develop 3A's and some of them Quads
- Bradie to skate as an evil queen or just to dramatic music
- Mariah to shade all her haters and come back with a beautiful, emotive piece
- Alysa to skate to something iconic... but not a warhorse

I just want Ting to be consistent, the Senior ladies to earn multiple GP medals, and an overall excellent season for the US ladies next season. Also... I'm hoping for a few breakouts. We had Ting, Alysa, Mariah, and Hanna all break out this season in some way, so let's see that trend continue with new ladies.
Alysa isn't changing coaches anytime soon. Her current coach is very good and it's not viable for her to make that move given shes from a single parent with 4 other siblings.

After deliberating/reading on the topic, I can concur that Alysa should stay with Laura. Not only does the family situation bode to be troublesome should a coaching change occur, Laura, Alysa, and the family have really connected and the relationship seems to be paying off in dividends.

As for Starr, the coaching situation has not been working out and it could be the consequence of a multitude of reasons. However, if an athlete of Starr's level sees that something is no longer clicking as it should, to reach the goals that she has set for herself, she needs to reexamine where she is and what she wants to do. How much further can she improve with this coach? Will this coach give her the necessary tools to obtain her goals? Starr is young and has time to take ownership of her skating, so I'm hopeful that she'll make the decision SHE thinks is right for HER.

Of course, coaching changes always come with pros and cons. As we saw with some of the other ladies, coaching changes can be disastrous. However, like Mariah, they can pay off really well. We'll see what the future holds for the budding US ladies.
I read that part of the problem is not having enough ice time/practice sessions.

LOL! - Im a native and I have been using that phrase for as long as I remember. I realize it can piss some people off but I guess that is why I say it.
