Who needs gloves? On the other hand are we sure Alaine can’t join the team? She’s making a strong case and her sad faces do kind of give me heartbreak :drama:

Also Sima won a medal at a challenger meaning she gets to stay on the team right. Regardless of Nationals?

Even if Anna is being a diva and Tsareva was just giving some deserved tough love, the fact is she her last two long programs have been two of the biggest epic trainwreck meltdowns I’ve ever seen in figure skating.

I don't know about Worlds, but my impression is that these two scenarios were very different. As far as I recall from people posting about practices in Finland, Anna was in a good place training wise & practice wise before Worlds. She was in such a good place competitive-wise last season that I think the mistakes at Worlds shocked her.

Here, the implosion in the free was very much to be expected. She's clearly dealing with back problems, not able to do her biellmann positions. She was missing the same jump she first fell on in the free during practices. Her run-through earlier this week had a similar popping effect. She looked unhappy/frustrated throughout the practices.

Heartbreak yes but not much potential anymore. She's going the Kuchvalska route. Her early promising prospects are long gone. She has sucked way too much the past few years.

Heal her back and clean her head.
At first I thought that Tsareva was too harsh yesterday in the K&C but Ana wasn't better herself. She is obviously undertrained, I believe that it's not only Tsareva's fault. They have to sit down, figure everything out and then decide
Or, just go get drunk... :40beers:

I'm already heartbroken about who will make it to the Russian senior nationals because some skater I like won't be there. How can one country have that many quality skaters? ((((missing skater))))

I have less than two months to find few ways to survive through Ladies competition...
AFAIK, any alcohol is forbidden at the venue :fragile:
I can't go home to my family for Christmas, so I always settle in to watch. I'm hoping ESPN3 will carry the comp again and @Eislauffan and Ari will comment. The ladies event will be brutal. So many talented skaters who won't get a shot at Europeans or the Olympics. Hopefully, some who don't will get a chance for Worlds in March.

Oh cmon. No one can forbid you taking few shots of vodka before you arrive! I seriously feel like I need a drink for Pogorilaya :gallopin1 Vodka + Russian trainwrecky fave sounds like the most fitting combination.

@Jeschke One of your many beloved hopeless cases has not, in fact, disappeared! Yuka Nagai won her sectionals (with no 3-3 and many pops...) & I think qualifies to Nationals

My time to make a proposal (for the watch list for now):
Stanislava Konstantinova
http://www.fskate.ru/skaters/2526.html
17 years old, was born in Saint-Petersburg, she was skating just for fun until she turned 9 and Valentina Chebotareva took her in her group.
Still skating in juniors (one of the biggest travesties this season, Russian Fed :lynch:)
For those of you, who don't like her I may say that you should probably see her live to understand her strengths. She is very fast and powerful on the ice, attracts your attention if she is "on" and she her jumps are pretty high.
She won one Challenger event last season (Tallinn Trophy) with 189 points, also was second at Russian Junior Nats last year, has two JGP medals (silver and bronze)

Criteria:
1) Skater needs a complete package to potentially be a top skater at Euros/4CC's/Worlds/Olympic level
Yes! I mean, which current Russian lady doesn't have potential to win medals at Euros/Worlds?
2) Skater needs to have the ability to absolutely rock one day and splat the day after. Even better: rock and splat during one program
Yes! The proof will be given later
3) Skater is not afraid of breaking one's heart over and over again
Not yet. But I like her :shuffle:
4) Skater needs more splat/messy performances than great ones
I couldn't remember if she had two clean performances at one competition in last two/three years :gallopin1

Qualities:
1) Being a student of Volchkova/Rukavicin
No, but Chebotareva sometimes uses her death stare or bitch face
2) Big boobs/nice ass
No
3) Boobs/belly/nipples showing
No
4) Mule kick
No
5) Being Uzbek/Russian
Yes
6) last name called Schott
No
7) Bizarre off ice incidents
No
8) Coach
See 1)
9) Costume (-Malfunction)
No
10) Splats
Yes, The proof will be given later
11) Bizarre Choreo
Hm, I'd say yes
12) Hair
No

So, it's time to provide some proof:
- first of all, watch her SP to "Sleeping Beauty" from two years ago. And no, she wasn't portraying princess Aurora :D
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s4sgCry6Yg4
- she seems to always make stupid mistakes, few examples:
fall on step sequences
https://youtu.be/DXWu31awXIw?t=47 (this one is from today's SP and was pretty hard :gallopin1)
pop and fall on one jump in the short at JWC
https://youtu.be/tDtxjFPcTuw?t=107
the way she missed a jump at senior Nationals (even though she managed to fix it later)

She still hasn't competed internationally at the senior level. :HA!:

She's OUT!!!! :lynch:

That wording

Awesome news! :encore:
Thanks so much lil' daughter!
No 3-3 but at least 2a3t :P
Great to see her still skating. I am relieved that her disastrous outing at last years nationals was not the end of her career.
Go Nagai! All the way!
