Also be careful proposing a dance team because the last two before Khuda/Bazin made it on immediately retired or broke up! And with Khuda's track record I think we will all be holding our breath until next season! :) (not really, I think this one will stick for a little while).

Did Tuktamysheva got her special status on the team with the idea that she would never make it back to Worlds? It's such an incredible development.
Actually, it happened once when bossman was away for a vacation and Tuk and Radionova were voted in by the mice. In a rare moment of softness, he allowed her to stay. Plus, she's the Empress and we love her.

To fully appreciate #TTW one must have
1. a well-developed sense of humor--the more warped the better
2. appreciate a good delusion, albeit, #TTW has an excellent track record of picking out future stars early in their careers
3. know that eventually bossman will break your heart when he does the kibosh on your favorite, BUT, they can be resurrected! See Brezina, Michal so never give up hope.
I also have taste for expensive gin and cheap champagne and from what I've seen so far, that seems to count for something.

And, we'll discuss the winners even if they aren't on the lists. There will be :wuzrobbed and :cheer2: But, we appreciate the underdog skaters the most. And, if our favorites medal, we'll be cheering like maniacs.

OK interesting predictions! Kihira for the gold? OK I like that. Ladies short program will happen while I’m sleeping in California. I’ll watch it when I wake up later in the morning. I expect reviews of every skater from you!!!!

Seriously, ANL... do what I'm doing and go to bed at 7pm tonight with the alarm set for 1:30am!

I would but ANL has an empire to run in the morning. I need to sleep.

So I did download peacock and it seems it’s for free. I already have everything set to record on NBC sports but I went and downloaded the Peacock app just out of curiosity and it doesnt seem like I have to pay five dollars a month. Looks like it’s for free… So it says ladies short program it’s on 1:30 AM until 6:30 AM on peacock

I wonder if were able to watch it back on playback on Peacock so if I wanted to see the earlier groups... because I do need to see Loena!

Peacock has some free content 24/7. You're not going to see the skating without paying or getting a free trial. Take care of it now so you aren't in a frenzy tomorrow.

What Tony said.

If you happen to have Xfinity internet, you might have Peacock premium included for free, but you still need to go through and link your accounts and activate.

Looking at the timing list for tomorrow, I decided to plan on starting with Group 2 of the ladies, which will involve getting up at 5 AM. Sorry Group 1, but I just can't do 4 AM, not even for Kučvaļska and Kropa.

I hope at least one OES lady makes the top ten this year and gives one of their countrywomen a shot at qualifying an Olympic berth; do it for Gerli, Eva-Lotta!

You’re right, I just went to my email and I had to verify my email and as I look closer it says that the figure skating is premium so they’re trying to peel five dollars out of my grubby hands. LOL I guess I’ll do the seven day free trial. I have to see the earlier groups but I just don’t think I can wake up at 1:30 AM

..... although if I don’t go to sleep to begin with....

I always get confused in the pre-Olympic year. So it’s not top 13? It’s top 10?

And then remaining slots are determined in the fall at Nebelhorn?
It's always top 10 for countries with only 1 entrant to qualify 2 the next year.

13 or less points total for countries with 2-3 entries this year to qualify 3 entrants.

28 points or less total for countries with 2-3 entries this year to qualify 2 next year.

With a few caveats:

One entry - finishes 1st or 2nd - 3 spots

Remember also, any additional spots that may be earned here (a country going from 1 to 2, 2 to 3) need to be earned at Nebelhorn officially. I can't remember if we also figured out during the initial announcement of the change if, let's say one man finishes 6th and the other doesn't make the LP, if that second spot would have to be earned at Nebelhorn as well. I'm thinking yes.

IIRC, they go through all of the skaters who made the LPs/FD, and if the max amount of pre-Olympic spots isn't filled that way, the remaining spots get added to the Nebelhorn qualifying.

You are right, it changed for these Olympics and in certain cases the 2nd/3rd Olympics spots now have to be confirmed at Nebelhorn. They can also be gained there.

So if France only gets one spot for dance at Worlds can they potentially earn more at Nebelhorn? I found it pretty impossible to follow these rules tbh.

Not unless the team in that one spot places 3rd-10th, in which case France can try to qualify for a second spot at Nebelhorn, or places 1st or 2nd, in which case France can try to qualify for two more spots at Nebelhorn.

Ah, ok. So if H/K make the top 10 (this is going to be challenging I'm afraid, but I hope they can do it!), does Spain have to "confirm" the second spot at Nebelhorn?

Yes, Olivia and Adri would have to 'confirm' the 2nd spot at the Nebelhorn olympic qualifier.
Though barring disasters, that should be a formality.

The rule is not aimed at top teams like them, it is more aimed at countries where there is only one top level skater, and thanks to that skater the country qualified a 2nd spot without having a decent skater to fill that spot. So a low level skater got sent to the Olympics which was all shades of wrong and was totally unfair on skaters who were more deserving of that spot!

Ladies SP Groups 2 &#3 Recap

Overall Im really happy to finally have a world championship (still bummed about Montreal)

ISR girl - Ok but I was still trying to wake up.
Lara Naki - She's grown a lot. Really matured. shame about the fall and ouch for ITA chances as team.
Akhipova - Liked the music not much else.
Chen - I know it was unintentional but a 3-2 feels soo prehistoric now.
Saarinen - Very happy for her afeter disastrous last time I saw her (was it worlds or euros'?)
GRM - Why of why putting the single jump first and screwing your chances at the combo? That is a No no for skaters of her calibre... well bosses are her fans for a reason. Bye bye.
Lil Sis - Damn she's fit!! Damn she's powerful stands out soo much on this group. Damn that music is awful ..
Schizas - First time seeing her and already a fan.. soo much bursting energy.
Bausback - I could see this was a McLeod student before I spotted McLeod
Taljegard- So sick of Roxanne but gotta love a home girl delivering.

Best Dressed - Grm
Do Hard - Hendrickx

And for the record.. I do like the new rule for Oly qualification. I call it the MOntoya rule... no more free tickets thanks to yoour contrymen's success.

BTW, where's Tursy? retired?
She was injured, has recovered, and has been training and pursuing her studies (as one can see here.)

Ladies 4 & 5 Group Recap

Mikutina - Colour me IMPRESSED!! Relaxed, joyful and an unkwnon version of a warhorse... Yes..
McKay - I know is fair game to reuse old programs for this non season But I swear I think I've seen Natasha skate this programa a million times already.
Lang - sooo petite for 17 and nice moves but out of place here.
Brezinova - she's gained confidence but i still find her skating sooo dull.
Haein Lee - ahhh the joy of a young one sktaing with nothing to lose.. crossing fingers for KOR 3 spots.
Urushadze - I love the music choice but the choreo should be more out there for such choice.
Kurakova - ice coverage felt minimal and a very insipid Janet performance.
Chen - Im still mad she's here and not Amber but she did good.
Meite - I was complaining why am i Still seein her and not Mazzara or Serna and then the skating gods heard me but she paid the consequences... oh welll. recover soon Mae.
Feigin - Congrats, you made schindler list feel ZZZZZ
Craine - horrible mix of Heart of Glass, so disjointed with the choreo but damn I so want her to sneak in there.

Is it me or other than the disasters, the scores are being very generous for the clean performances? Maybe judges are also happy to have something to judge.

Best dressed - Urushadze
Do Hard - Craine
