Junior Worlds - Ladies FS

Valieva. Deserved win. PCS and program
Usacheva. She was my favourite of the Tutberidze-trio here, but this program :scream:
Liu. I just don't connect, scusa ?‍♂️
Khromykh. Based on her season this was really solid. No RUS sweep  #endofanera :P
Lee. It knew it won't happen. I wanted it so badly :drama: Tbh this felt tight and cautious right from the start.
Wi. This was absolutely pure and flawless! 3 spots, wheee!
Kurakova. I realized my main problem with her is the Sima-vibe I am getting. Anyone else? :shuffle:
Ryabova. The only export I can endure is Leonova, for all the rest: meh meh meh!
JPN. End of an era. Kawabata is best #ttw material.
AUT.GER. :respec:

Best Dressed: Ramashova

As I know you're one and only wish is having one Euros-experience with Boss #1 and #2.
This wish is granted! :40beers:
Well @alchemy void , no excuses now :p
May I suggest Tallinn in 2022? :D

?? flag guy? :sekret:
Oh dear.

Agree about new discoveries! Especially I'm now a fan of the USKrainian pair! And several others. :cheer: What a great week it was!

I may need to learn to make some GIFs. :shuffle:

Jr. Ladies

Valieva: Great skater. Easy jumps. Superlative spins. Needs to work on the stone-face, though. She's more on the "scared" side v. the acceptable Lipnitskaya-level "pensive" side of stone-faced.
Usacheva: seems like a composite of every other Eteri skater and I want to see something original or unique about her. Doesn't help to skate to warhorses. Usacheva's packaging makes me think that Eteri/Danny didn't give much thought to her programs. That said, she quietly got the job done this season. Maybe she'll be like Shcherbakova, and steadfastly rise through the ranks while the attention is focused elsewhere.
Liu: There's a lot of work to be done here. Her 3a and 4z aren't reliably rotated and without PCS to back her up, this is where you end up. OTOH, she's got more joie de vivre than her competitors, so if she does clean up her skating (which I think she will be very motivated to do), she will fight for gold instead of just the podium.
Khromykh: Would rather have had Sinitsyna. :shuffle:
Lee: Small medals are where it's at! :) She's the best artist of this junior crop, and I can't wait to watch her mature.
Wi: Such a great competitor. More work to do on basics so she can fight for higher placements.

Kurakova. I realized my main problem with her is the Sima-vibe I am getting. Anyone else? :shuffle:

As if being Sima-like could be a problem. Now that I see the similarity, I love her even more!

Ryabova: I like her okay. Everything is good enough. Gubanova, maybe it's time to become Azerbaijani?

While I'm not a big fan of Liu, I do see some comparison to early Radionova in the way her sheer joy comes through her skating. That being said, that's often the case when they are still very young and mostly winning everything. It usually fades away as they get older, the jumps get more difficult and the stakes get higher. One of the reason you don't see that with the Sambo 70 skaters is the sheer depth of competition at the rink. Those kids know the stakes at a very early age. Plus, Tutberidze skaters don't do perky. Apart from the obvious with Perkova, most Russian skaters don't. Radionova singing to Titanic was an exception. But, alas she grew up and found other priorities.

Better go check Liza’s stories for Samarin in Empress hoodie and Ignatov in pink Toxic one:lol:
OMG Samarin Empress and Pink Ignatov, priceless!
All we need now is Aliev wearing her green drum outfit! :D

Edit: Which size has Ignatov taken? XS?
Edit2: Aliev, Perkova and Popova/Mozgov wearing it too. Priceless

Someone beat me to the Usacheva Shcherbakova comparison! I was thinking about this too.

Everyone is so negative about Kromykh that I am obviously going to have to adopt her as my own. I think it's cool having a taller girl around and I sort of enjoy her throwback style as a change of pace.

Khuda ante'd up her new man :glamor:

Catching up a bit. Needed a day off, particularly after starting Friday at 2:45 am for ladies and finishing work at 10pm. :scream:

Kurakova. I realized my main problem with her is the Sima-vibe I am getting. Anyone else? :shuffle:

And that's a problem because....? I get both Sima and Kitty vibes, but with more performance and expression.

Ramashova and Kurakova back-to-back were an absolute delight. Poor 1930s. :(

Ryabova. The only export I can endure is Leonova, for all the rest: meh meh meh!

Don't forget about Morgan Flood! :drama: It looks like she's training hard.

I will die if Ryabova sneaks into 10th place at Worlds and AZE gets 2 spots at all ISU Championships next season. But honestly, Leonova NEEDS to skate for AZE next season. Should we start a gofundme for training expenses?

Khromykh: Would rather have had Sinitsyna. :shuffle:

This.

I thought the < on the 3A+2T in the LP was fairly sketchy. Very borderline, even in slow motion. I thought the axels looked markedly better, but that quad lutz wasn't really close.

Plus, Tutberidze skaters don't do perky. Apart from the obvious with Perkova, most Russian skaters don't.

Don't forget Perkova's protege, Maria Talalaikina! She won bronze at Russian Cup Final. Come to think of it, I'd be cool with her as AZE #2 next season as well. :cheer:

I actually really like her, too, but I'd rather have gotten Sinitsyna. I'm hoping we can get a really nice classical LP for Kromykh next season. She has potential to be stunning out there.

Give Ghost to someone like Kuchvalska next season.

Anyone interested in Zagreb next season?
Always interested of course. :drama: But next season I'll probably save my money for Stockholm Worlds instead. If there turns out to be a very good FSU entry list, there's always the chance to try to tempt me though.
