Jr. Ladies
Valieva: Great skater. Easy jumps. Superlative spins. Needs to work on the stone-face, though. She's more on the "scared" side v. the acceptable Lipnitskaya-level "pensive" side of stone-faced.
Usacheva: seems like a composite of every other Eteri skater and I want to see something original or unique about her. Doesn't help to skate to warhorses. Usacheva's packaging makes me think that Eteri/Danny didn't give much thought to her programs. That said, she quietly got the job done this season. Maybe she'll be like Shcherbakova, and steadfastly rise through the ranks while the attention is focused elsewhere.
Liu: There's a lot of work to be done here. Her 3a and 4z aren't reliably rotated and without PCS to back her up, this is where you end up. OTOH, she's got more
joie de vivre than her competitors, so if she does clean up her skating (which I think she will be very motivated to do), she will fight for gold instead of just the podium.
Khromykh: Would rather have had Sinitsyna.

Lee: Small medals are where it's at!

She's the best artist of this junior crop, and I can't wait to watch her mature.
Wi: Such a great competitor. More work to do on basics so she can fight for higher placements.
Kurakova. I realized my main problem with her is the Sima-vibe I am getting. Anyone else?
As if being Sima-like could be a problem. Now that I see the similarity, I love her even more!
Ryabova: I like her okay. Everything is good enough. Gubanova, maybe it's time to become Azerbaijani?
