Trivia, Watanabe/Kido's 4th place at 2005 4CC was the highest finish for an Asian dance team at those championships until Muramoto/Reed's medal win in 2018, and remains tied with Wang/Liu for the highest finish for an Asian dance team in a non-Olympic year.

If the entire ice dance field (outside of some Russians) thought I got an undeserved medal and made a petition about it and my rankings dropped to where I actually deserved, I don't know if I'd have the fortitude to keep competing...or the requisite amount of petty to want to do it.
