FSU Watch Party Saturday #2: 2006 Olympics OD [12:30pm CDT/6:30pm CET]

Wing/Lowe

-not really feeling the Latin. OTOH, I was sad when it was announced that Latin was the OD theme for 2006 so . . . apparently I get over nothing
-lifts were visually effective, I like the simpler style
-slooooow twizzles

Tracy: "And we're off to a good start!" Oh, dear.

Credit to Wing/Lowe for persevering through three consecutive Olympic cycles to finally get their chance to go.

I miss Tracy Wilson's commentary, although Tanith is excellent as well (when they use her, which should be more!).

So will G/F retire 2022 and Babs will make them comeback for home soil olympics? :watch:

Khoklova/Novitski

-Already more sultry just in the opening pose
-nice energy in the step sequence
-he cannot twizzle, running 3s
-he-split :respec:
-I liked, good work, interesting choreography, and very nice edge quality

Oh man, this was like the first year I watched skating seriously. I didn't even care about Ice Dance at all, so I did not watch this. I just know that everyone fell + scary babs stare. I also didn't yet realize that TV broadcasts were not live...

Khoklova deserved more than one world bronze. :drama:

I can't think of a dancer today who comes close to her skill level and camp.

Oh it's great when you don't know who's about to fall.
Enjoy!

Are we already on video 3? I started late but thought I had FFed enough through Wing/Lowe to catch up.
